The battle over the Democrat-led $3.5 trillion reconciliation budget bill is leading to renewed arguments over tax rates. Because everything that’s old is new again, that means lots of repetition about the rich “paying their fair share” as Joe Biden and his party seek to justify dropping more inflation on the heads of the middle-class. The current proposal would raise the corporate rate beyond that of China’s, which is the kind of thing a nation would do if they were purposely trying to drive businesses into the arms of a communist regime. A raise of the top marginal rate is on the table.

With all the arguments around the $3.5 trillion reconciliation bill and the bipartisan infrastructure bill, one issue that has fallen by the wayside is that of the debt ceiling. In order for Democrats to get what they want, it will have to be lifted, which means we are headed for another major shutdown battle in the coming weeks.
Janet Yellen, the Treasury Secretary, recently called Sen. Mitch McConnell to lobby his support to raise the debt ceiling. But McConnell, perhaps sensing that he has nothing to gain by handing Democrats another victory, gave his response: Nah.
Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) will reportedly still not support Joe Biden’s $3.5 trillion reconciliation package for the time being, despite the president’s efforts to persuade him, according to Axios.
On Wednesday, sources told Axios that President Joe Biden reportedly hosted Manchin for a meeting at the White House where he failed to persuade the senator into agreeing with the $3.5 trillion bill.
Axios was told Biden explained to Manchin his opposition could imperil the $1.2 trillion bipartisan infrastructure bill that’s already passed the Senate. Biden’s analysis did little to persuade Manchin to raise his top line.

A law enforcement source within U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) tells Breitbart Texas that the unfolding Haitian migrant crisis is forcing the agency to shut down normal operations at all inland Del Rio Sector Border Patrol highway checkpoints.
