I don’t know if other presidents would be able to take it… Had I not fired James Comey, who was a disaster by the way, it’s possible I wouldn’t have been standing here right now.
The Royal Caribbean cruise line announced Friday it will ban any guests with Chinese, Hong Kong or Macau passports from boarding its ships until further notice — after dozens of passengers aboard its ship Anthem of the Seas, now docked in New Jersey, were screened for the illness.
The company informed guests of the new “health-screening protocols” in a statement.

Sen. Bernie Sanders called for an end to cash bail across the country at the Democratic debate on Friday night, saying there are hundreds of thousands of people locked up because they can’t afford a several-hundred-dollar fee.
Sanders made his call to end bail as the candidates debated America’s criminal justice system and how it affects minorities in the United States.
“Most people don’t know this. Tonight in America, 200,000 people are in jail without having been convicted of anything. Two hundred thousand people — because they can’t afford the 500 bucks they need to get out of jail,” Sanders said.

Hong Kong is facing a toilet paper shortage as Chinese factories struggle to meet demand amid the coronavirus outbreak, according to a report.

Ambassador to the European Union Gordan Sondland announced Friday that he was being recalled from his post by President Donald Trump.
“I was advised today that the President intends to recall me effective immediately as United States Ambassador to the European Union,” he said in a statement.
Sondland testified in President Trump’s impeachment trial, informing members of Congress that in his mind he felt there was a quid quo relationship between the president’s decision to halt aid to Ukraine and convincing Ukrainian officials to announce an investigation into Hunter Biden and the corrupt gas company Burisma.
Sen. Joe Manchin slammed fellow Democrat Rep. Jerry Nadler for suggesting that the House would continue investigating President Trump’s conduct regarding Ukraine.
Manchin, who represents West Virginia, appeared Friday on Fox News to discuss his vote to convict Trump on both impeachment charges. Host Bill Hemmer also questioned Manchin on a claim the House Judiciary Committee made that investigators would continue looking into Trump’s conduct.
"They’re crazy if [investigations into Trump over Ukraine] come back," Manchin said. "Well, I’m hoping the president has learned. Mr. President, we are equal powers."
Tom Steyer apparently thought he had a good line at the Democratic presidential debate on Friday when, with great flourish, he reminded his rivals that former president Bill Clinton campaigned successfully by remembering, "It's the economy, stupid!"
Steyer was right, and that's why President Trump is on course for reelection.
Steyer correctly said that Trump routinely touts the robust economic growth seen in his first term and that it's proving an effective line with voters. But Steyer left the reservation when he said Democrats would only be successful in November if they "beat" Trump on that issue.

Democratic California Assemblyman Marc Levine has introduced a clearly unconstitutional bill which mandates that anyone registered to vote must attend a voting booth and file a response.
Levine says his intended law is justified and necessary because "democracy is not a spectator sport — it requires the active participation of all its citizens ... Those rights come with a responsibility by registered voters to cast their ballot and make sure that their voice is heard by their government."
While registered voters would not have to select a candidate in order to conform with Levine's desired law, they would have to file a ballot return, even if unmarked.

Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, who made waves as a witness during the Trump impeachment proceedings, was fired Friday by the National Security Council and escorted off of the White House grounds, Fox News has confirmed.
Vindman was on detail to the National Security Council from the Department of Defense, and it is expected he will return there. It comes just two days after President Trump was acquitted in the Senate on the impeachment charges brought by the House last year over his dealings with Ukraine. Lt. Col Alexander Vindman, a key witness in the House Democrats’ partisan impeachment inquiry, was fired from the National Security Council and escorted out of the White House on Friday, CNN first reported.
Vindman’s attorney, David Pressman, confirmed his client’s termination and subsequent removal from the White House.
“Today, Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Vindman was escorted out of the White House where he has dutifully served his country and his President. He does so having spoken publicly once, and only pursuant to a subpoena from the United States Congress,” Pressman said in a statement.

The far-left American Civil Liberties Union has filed a lawsuit against the federal government in response to a raid by Immigration and Customs Enforcement near Dallas, as ABC reports.The lawsuit was filed after ICE allegedly refused to release the search warrants that authorized the raid, which took place in April in the city of Allen, about 15 miles outside of Dallas.
