The opposition may not know it yet, but they will need to ramp-up their game because they’re no longer playing against the GOP of Old. The Republican Party has, finally, become a force that will fight
That union of purpose happened to the Republican Party on February 6, 2020. When Hillary Clinton was campaigning for the Presidency, then President Barack Obama said she was more qualified than anyone who had ever run for the

Ballot harvesting
Vote by mail
Automatic register when you get drivers license
Extending time to vote
Continuing to find votes after results are called
So many ways to corrupt.
Until theses issues are resolved we don’t stand a chance.

That senile old crone Nancy Pelosi may not know it, but what she tore up at the SOTU was that "kick me" sign that W wore taped to his ass for eight years.
And stop calling them "progressives." They are anything but.

Trump single-handily castrated the liberal. Anything that comes out from their mouth is suspect of being fake.

Agree on all counts. I always take note when the President says “we” instead of “I.” Which is 99.9% of the time.
And now he has given most on our side someone to follow, and a model for how to fight.
And to our President and Republicans: you are not alone. There are millions of us behind you.

Wrong verb tense used in headline since this is still a future event!
For this new crop of Repubs coming in, I almost want to wack them around a bit to see if they're a fighter or a wimp. I suppose doing that and checking to see if they have certain essential body parts (like a spine and umm, . . . okay, definitely not) isn't the best idea, huh?

BUT. Will it stay one or revert to it’s comfortable position of bending over and hoping for the best??

The Republicans didn't do anything but "stick together"...because the politics absolutely prevented them from voting for conviction. The plan was blown up when the House came up with two lame and discredited articles of impeachment, foolishly sending them to the Senate for trial. McConnell and his majority saw that PDT's poll numbers were rising. In the end, the trial was farce, and PDT's poll numbers continues to improve.
Politicians read polls and count votes. Nothing was ever going to lead to conviction. Any Republican voting "guilty" was committing political harakiri...unless named Romney, claiming he was inspired by God, setting one in righteous opposition for a possible/likely third-party, UNIPARTY-supported run for President in November as a "moderate Republican". God told him...what else could he do?
Outside of judicial appointments, which generally first come to the White House from the Senate, there will continue to be the usual promises and wrangling. McConnell will ensure that between now and November the GOP majority looks productive and cooperative. Others will thrash around investigating the Bidens and this whole travesty. Barr will continue to be obtuse. And the GOPe is likely to win back its majority in the House and expand in the Senate. And then back to "regular order"...

Except for the punch throwing Trump and a few others, when I picture fighting elected republicans, I envision someone with their eyes closed, head ducked, flailing around open hands in an attempt to slap someone. Meanwhile, a democrat sneaks up behind with a 2x4.

The ONLY reason some of the Republicans are showing some fight is because President Trump is leading the way and taking most of the hits. God forbid when he is gone, I have no doubt they will revert to the invertebrate squishes that they are.
This moment in time is our "High Noon". Trump is our Gary Cooper. The Democrats are the gang coming in on the noon train. And the Republicans are the good, decent, but cowardly townspeople who will mostly hide until he wipes out the gang. Time for the rest of us to jump in and help him fight.

Claims of the prowess of the GOP are greatly exagerrated. For three years, with few exceptions, Donald Trump has fought a stand-alone battle. While the Senate has some outstanding republican senate members, they have a long way to go to catch up to Trump. The battle that they just won was practically a slam-dunk and if not for the incredible courage and staying power of the President for the past three years would have ended in a huge defeat and with somebody of the level of Nancy Pelosi up there spiking the ball right now. The GOP has a lot of ground to make up.

Its hard to be a fighting force when you have no real direction. Prior to Trump, many Republicans largely deferred to the Democrats who had a plan (albeit a terrible one). Trump comes along, provides a plan, a real alternative, and the rest is history.

Note what that says about Rummey, who is apparently NOT a team player.
This unification came at a great time. The election is nigh and the desperate dems/media/Left will throw everything at Republicans. We have seen what they are saying about Trump. We can see their ads. They are blatant and unrepentant liars. In the past they have been able to put the Republicans on the defensive and cow them. Many Republicans were defeated by the narrative well before the election.
That is far less likely to happen. First, Trump neutered and exposed the media. That leveled the playing field. Next, as this article says, Trump inserted spines into Congressional Republicans. They found that the reward is well worth the risk. Plus, they found out when they support Trump, he supports them. A rally with Trump is worth incalculable ad time. Trump has already won the party. His approval is in the 90+% range. Dems and Independents are coming to his rallies. His coattails are YUGE and growing.
Plus, Trump is keeping dems in general in disarray. The TDS he incites in them causes them to do moronic things like rip up the SOTU speech and babble like a bag lady on public television. Trump has handed them defeat after defeat and it is killing them. So much that they begrudge that ALL Americans are far better off that they were 3 years ago AND expressed it during the SOTU. It was lethal optics. They are becoming known as the crazy party.
As long as they avoid being contaminated by Rummey's "conscience" there is going to be a blowout in November.

When you hear the so-called mainstream media and the leftist and liberal Democrats demand that President Trump abandon his current conservative political agenda and embark on a new political agenda that will bring America together and unify the country. What the media and Democrats are really saying that Trump should just go along with the Democrat political agenda, but Trump was not elected to be subservient to the leftist and liberal Democrat political agenda.

Ever notice Democrats always use the phrase, "I'm fighting for...." ,it's because people want to feel like their representative is doing just that, fighting for them.
President Trump has been fighting for the American people, and it shows.
I'm sure many GOPe were hesitant to support Trump earlier due to the claim of Russian collusion, and then the Mueller Report, but they were likely both designed to cover-up what the Democrats had been doing.
And, then with the impeachment scam created right after the Mueller Report was a dud, some in the GOPe likely felt they needed to give it "due respect", but it was nothing but an abomination of due process or anything close to allowing Trump the real ability to defend himself in similar ways Clinton and Nixon were granted.
Now, any new attempt to impeach, or investigate, during 2020 election year should be seen as nothing but hardcore partisan Democrat attempts to meddle in the election.
