Appearing Friday on CNN’s New Day, former Rep. Joe Walsh (R-IL) ended his longshot 2020 Republican presidential primary challenge against President Donald Trump, conceding that the president “can’t be beat” after receiving a mere 1 percent of the vote in the Iowa GOP caucuses.(Tweet/Video) A partial transcript is as follows: JOHN BERMAN: Questions remain about who won the Democrat caucuses in Iowa, the Republican side was much more clear. President Trump cruised to victory with 97 percent of the vote

I saw a headline that read, "Conservative Joe Walsh thinks any democrat would be better than Trump." First of all, anyone who believes that, isn't a conservative, and no, any democrat would certainly NOT be better than Trump.

He's right that Trump can't be beat but otherwise what he says is unhinged gibberish. He's nuts.

I go to hotel rooms and tear down the walls. I have accountants who pay for it all. Now back to my delusional life. It's been good to me so far!

Joe has decided to go back to his true love of music...because every time he tries to get out , they drag me back in. He was such a longshot, that if he was a race horse, he would be headed for the glue factory. Good choice Joe and good luck getting the band back together.

He has just now figured that out? Brilliant. I wonder how his 17 campaign donors feel? Betrayed?

This is merely clearing the field. The Dump Trump crowd doesn't need a polemicist in the field. They need a "moderate", and the best they can come up with now is Bill Weld. He may futilely continue on, but not for long. His campaign staff was assembled for Mitt...watch for a third-party bid. God will have told him, I'm sure.

I wouldn't be surprised to learn that my Joe Walsh may actually be a conservative. I know he says good things about our president.

Never heard of this guy before his announcement of running. This gets a big "Well, duh!" from me, as to the "he can't be beat".

Joe, first I couldn't agree with #2 more. Second, is there a democrat running? All I'm aware of are communists.

Gee golly, 97% of Iowa Republican caucus member selected Trump but Joe Walsh just knows they are wrong. 94% of Republicans support Trump (Gallup) but Walsh insists Trump is the "greatest threat to this country right now".
I can see the problem clearly. Joe Walsh is delusional.

The ONLY important question here is, 'how much money did this freak end up with?' Did he stop while he had money left in his campaign fund or will he do what the rats do and stiff everyone when they fold their campaigns? This former congressman/radio host was only in it to score some bucks one way or another.

I didn't know the lead guitarist for the rock band the Eagles was challenging Trump but I'll still go watch him in concert because he's that good.
That's not the same Joe Walsh? Never mind.

"Longshot"? Walsh's presidential bid had about as much chance of surviving as a burrito in front of Rosie O'Donnell.
