WASHINGTON – Rep. Adam Schiff, who served as the lead House impeachment manager in the trial of President Donald Trump, said former national security adviser John Bolton declined to sign an affidavit about what he knew after the Senate voted against calling more witnesses. (Snip) "For whatever reason, he apparently was willing to testify before the Senate, but apart from that, seems intent on saving it for his book," said Schiff, D-Calif. He timed his willingness to testify to coincide with his book release. No opportunity to testify before the Senate, book release being held up due to security issues equals no money in playing ball with Schiff. Also keeping a shred of dignity, and being able to someday make a comeback in Conservative circles may factor in.

Trump will keep Bolton tied up in court for years with Executive Privilege! By the time Bolton can re-write his Book there won't be anything in it not already known. By the time the Court decides, nobody will care about Bolton!

So, you think Romney would like to change his vote now after realizing Bolton would not be willing to sign and affidavit? I'm betting he felt Bolton had "stuff" that would possibly bolster Rep. Bull Schiff's desired account of what happened.

Joe Biden released a new digital ad on Saturday contrasting his record as vice president with Pete Buttigieg’s record as mayor of South Bend, Ind.: (Tweet) If a Republican had mocked Buttigieg — the first openly gay politician with a serious chance of winning a major party’s presidential nomination—for installing “colorful lights” and “decorative brick,” the backlash would be pretty intense. We’ll see how this works out for Biden. The official response of the Buttigieg campaign was a measured statement that doesn’t accuse Biden of dog-whistling. “At this moment, the American people are crying out for something completely different from

A majority of New Hampshire Democrats said in a new poll that they would rather a "giant meteor strikes the Earth, extinguishing all human life" than see President Trump reelected. The University of Massachusetts Lowell survey of 400 Democratic voters asked which candidates they would support in the state's primary Tuesday, with former Vice President Joe Biden and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) tying for first place at 23 percent support. But voters were also asked in the online survey conducted by YouGov: "Which of the following outcomes would you prefer occur on November 3, 2020? Donald Trump wins re-election or

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine — Republican Sen. Collins made the disclosure Friday while addressing the Maine Chiefs of Police Association winter conference. “I just want you to know that I’ve always loved you and appreciated you. But now I have a real personal appreciation for all that you do to keep us safe,” Collins told the group in South Portland, Maine. Collins also received threats before when she voted to confirm

Former Vice President Joe Biden began Friday night's Democratic debate in Manchester, New Hampshire by conceding that he "took a hit" in the Iowa caucuses and he'll "probably take a hit" in the New Hampshire primaries next Tuesday. "This is a long race and I took a hit in Iowa and I'll probably take a hit here," Biden said, adding that Sen. Bernie Sanders swept the 2016 New Hampshire primary against Hillary Clinton. "Bernie won by 20 points last time and usually it's the neighboring senators that do well, but no matter what I'm still in this for the same

Amidst a week of hopscotching from Iowa to New Hampshire, former Vice President Joe Biden is taking some time off the trail, heading to Delaware to meet with advisers ahead of the eighth Democratic debate Friday, hosted by ABC News. The debate could be crucial for Biden, who is coming off what he called a "gut punch" in Iowa due to a lackluster performance in the caucuses, and looking to regain some ground in the race ahead of New Hampshire's first-in-the-nation primary Tuesday. With 100% of precincts reporting in Iowa late Thursday, Biden was fourth with 16% of state delegate

DES MOINES, Iowa — The Associated Press said Thursday that it is unable to declare a winner of Iowa's Democratic caucuses. Following the Iowa Democratic Party's release of new results late Thursday night, former South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg leads Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders by two state delegate equivalents out of 2,152 counted. That is a margin of 0.09 percentage points. However, there is evidence the party has not accurately tabulated some of its results, including those released late Thursday that the party reported as complete. The most important thing that happened during President Trump’s post-impeachment rant at the White House didn’t happen at the lectern. Yes, as usual, he called me a sleaze and scum and a dirty cop and said he likely would no longer be president if he hadn’t fired me. Although I still can’t follow the logic of that last bit, it doesn’t matter. The important thing was what happened in the audience, where there were plenty of intelligent people of deep commitment to religious principle. Joe Biden brought his “No Malarkey” tour to a New Hampshire debate stage on Friday night. But in promising to tell the truth, he accidentally exposed his own doleful (or I should say, Bob Dole-ful) prospects in Tuesday’s opening-gun primary. In his first words of the debate—the moment when candidates are usually the most scripted—Biden confessed, “I took a hit in Iowa and I’ll probably take a hit here.” It was a novel campaign strategy; few candidates ever say, “Vote for me because I’m going to lose here.” If his comments were a brief misstep in an otherwise smooth debate, it would have been one thing.

Democratic Illinois Rep. Jesús García, along with several other progressive House members, introduced the New Way Forward Act in December 2019, to seemingly little fanfare. The bill, among many things, calls for the decriminalization of illegal immigration, would make it more difficult to deport convicted criminal aliens, empower immigration judges to nullify deportation orders, and also calls for the return of previously deported illegal aliens.

From the start, it was clear that the chief casualty of that amateur theatrics was going to be Joe Biden and his sniff, sniff, sniffing son Hunter. Congress and previous Administrations have long failed to find lasting solutions — my Administration is committed to exploring innovative approaches — I’m confident we can get it done!” the president tweeted Thursday evening.
