The 2020 campaign season is off to an inauspicious start for Democrats. Iowa's reporting debacle has left Democrats without a clear result in their first nominating contest, sowing suspicions as to whether there will ever be an accurate count.
Things reached an extraordinary point on Thursday, with Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez calling for the Iowa Democratic Party to recanvass its results. Beyond the counting problems, Sen. Bernie Sanders’s rise means Democrats are facing the prospect of running in swing states with a socialist at the top of the ticket. Either that, or they will have to deny him the nomination in a way

My take on this is because the democrats that did not turn out will be voting for President Trump. The only way that a democrat could vote for Trump in the primary is to change their party.

My wife is a dem. She has no idea who she supports and our state's primary is a month away. She is not a commie and Joe Biden is a flawed candidate that required an Impeachment Trial to expose his flaws. With a focus on hate for Trump and a love for Free Stuff, their debates have not provided any substance to their candidates. Who can be excited for this group?

Dems have LOTS of problems, the worst being that their party has no capable people as evidenced by the losers in their primary.
Their most vocal and exposed spokespeople appear weird, almost unhinged to the majority of people. CNN & MSNBC, Hollyweird, dems like The Squad, Schiffty, Nadless, Bag Lady Nasty Pelousy, Mad Max, Chucky, BJ & Hillary & the Clintoon era reprobates (a singing group?), eminently indictable BO administration reps and holdovers, etc. When these people show up on TV or Social media, everyone groans. They all seem to have a "Mean Girl" vibe, even the guys.
Their media has been neutered by Trump. Normally, the media would be fueling excitement and direction by planting favorable stories for dems. But few are listening to them and even fewer believe them. A lot of the BiG stories pushed by media have loudly imploded, and the media ends up slimed. They have lost control of the narrative and mostly have the reputation of, "If you want to know what really happened, DON'T go to the media.".
You can't beat YUGE, BLATANT success. The SOTU was an tour de force example. Trump beat the dems like a rented mule.
While Trump "approval" polls and voter polls are rigged, a lot of the other polls are showing serious problems for dems. Things like satisfaction polls, personal financial status polls, minority support for Trump polls, etc. that are ALL strongly moving toward good signs for Trump.
There is a sense among rational people that after investigating Trump for 4 years using the most intrusive methods possible, including illegal ones, there is simply nothing bad to find. Yes, Trump is not the typical politician and has a bold style that frets the timid. Dem however have clearly demonstrated that they are far worse. Further, look at Trump's undeniable accomplishments and the painfully obvious lack of dem accomplishments under BO and since. The general sense is that, even if you are not going to support Trump, you may as well let him be. Except for the Left, there is not enough about Trump to incite a revolt against him.
Dems are trying to rebrand themselves as "New Coke" dems but we all know how that turned out.

No, democrats have a candidate problem. It takes somebody qualified and interesting to draw people out there. There are plenty of dim voters waiting in line for freebies, asinine policies, tax increases and wild promises. Old Joe was the Chosen One and he bombed like an amateur comedian with stage fright. The follow-up acts are even worse than the main event. Sucks to be them.

The biggest dropoff was male voters over age 60. They don't like the choice of a communist, a scolding schoolmarm, a 30-something gay guy, or a doddering old fool.

The genius of the Left is this: Given that industrial might and consumer choice are "Bad" for the environment.....then.....crippling American productivity and the American economy become the best way to "Save the Planet".
Bad governance becomes a feature.....not a flaw. (See: Venezuela)
....and if great personal wealth can be gleaned by treating the dealership like a junk yard then so much the better for those in charge.

If you people will allow me to make a professorial analogy, I will mention the Shriner's Hospital syndrome. (I named it that.)
The Shriners have hospitals in various locations, providing free medical care for children. And it is my understanding that they refused health insurance reimbursements for a long time, covering hospital costs through various fundraising projects. Now they are soliciting funds with TV ads. and at least in my area, northwestern pennsylvania, they started their TV solicitations by having cute, handicapped kids in their ad..
but then, the advertising people got carried away, and the ads expanded - in frequency and content- and the ads became annoying to me, and probably others. and while the original ad inspired me, the follow up ads were overly structured, and overly cute. And there were too many ads.
They lost me as a contributor through their own actions.
now I ask you people - is there now a dimocrat primary syndrome? and if so, will it carry over to the presidential election in November? will it also carry over to the down-ticket races?

There are two reasons who the Potential Democrat voter base is shrinking. 1. The missing potential Democrat voters have made up their minds to vote for President Trump. 2. Other of those prospective voters have decided not to vote at all and will stay home on general Election Day.
