Recycling almost everything is an uneconomic scam[i], but that hasn’t stopped many localities from enforcing recycling mandates, and employing lots of people to sort through garbage and spend large sums on trying to find another use for the materials. At great expense to taxpayers.
But finally, Greenpeace has realized that recycling plastic makes no sense. In City Journal, John Tierney writes:
Greenpeace has seen the light, or at least a glimmer of rationality. The group has issued a report accompanied by a press release headlined, “Plastic Recycling Is A Dead-End Street—Year After Year, Plastic Recycling Declines Even as Plastic Waste Increases.” The group’s overall policy remains delusional

The recent Red scare by the left in declaring that slavery is legal in five of the united States needs some cautious reflection and analysis on the one question it raises. Allegedly, the landmark 13th amendment to the Constituition, which was ratified on Dec 16, 1865, saw the official abolishment of slavery. It is said, however, that it was allowed in prison as punishment against convicted felons.

Here is a question for Republicans to consider before next week’s midterm elections: How far does former President Donald Trump have to go before the GOP kicks him out of the party? Put another way, will the Republican Party save itself before it has completely lost its soul?
It has been deeply disappointing to see so few GOP leaders and Republicans in Congress challenge Trump’s takeover of the GOP. It has been equally disappointing to see so many Americans buy Trump’s “big lie” about the 2020 election. (snip) Trump continues corrupting the party of Lincoln

Washington - Conservative Supreme Court justices on Monday indicated they are willing to end the explicit consideration of race in college admissions as they weighed cases challenging affirmative action policies at the University of North Carolina and Harvard University.
Members of the court's conservative majority questioned the legal rationale for allowing the practice and probed to what extent universities could enact new "race neutral" admissions policies aimed at improving racial diversity. Some justices, however, indicated they would be willing to allow applicants to discuss their racial identity in some form as part of essays touching upon their experiences, such as examples of overcoming discrimination.

Surveys often demonstrate Democrats do not know how right-leaning voters think. The repeated “October surprises” launched against Republican Senate candidate Herschel Walker are an excellent example of this phenomenon. In recent weeks, two women have come forward to allege that Walker insisted they receive abortions. Walker campaigned on a pro-life platform this cycle and denied both claims.
As a pro-life voter in Georgia, there are several reasons why I couldn’t care less about these claims. First, Walker committed to pro-life positions if Georgia elects him to the Senate. Should he fail to follow through, voters can hold him accountable next election. This situation is obviously

"Oil is destroying the world in every possible way," Barnes, Wisconsin's lieutenant governor, said on Twitter in 2015.
The remark is the latest evidence of Barnes's extreme opposition to domestic energy production, which he has attempted to soften on the campaign trail. The news comes as Democratic leaders have struggled with political fallout from rising energy prices, after years of demonizing and blocking domestic oil and gas projects.

A dozen years ago, Democrats faced a dilemma. A long-term care entitlement known as the CLASS Act that they added to what became Obamacare faced serious solvency concerns. But after Scott Brown, R-Mass., won a shock Senate victory for Republicans in a January 2010 special election, ending Democrats’ filibuster-proof majority, Democrats didn’t have the votes to alter the CLASS Act or remove it from Obamacare.
What did Democrats do? The Obama administration suppressed the internal documents showing that the CLASS Act wouldn’t work. (I and Republican staff colleagues later obtained these documents, compiling them into a report.)
Democrats also convinced many in the disability industry to support Obamacare,

Some of them have even called on Bolsonaro to stage a military coup to retain power. (Tweet/Video) As of Monday morning, at least 47 roadblocks were reported in 14 of Brazil’s 27 states, including Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo. History isn’t on President Joe Biden’s side heading into the 2022 midterms. The president’s party averages a loss of 28 House seats and four Senate seats in midterm elections.
The present isn’t being kind to Joe Biden either. Inflation is out of control. Gas prices are sky-high from coast to coast. And Biden’s reputation for competence hasn’t recovered from the Afghanistan debacle, which showed the world his staff really aren’t the "adults in the room" they claim to be.
Yet these headwinds only tell half the story. Joe Biden and Democrats have managed to make things worse. From attempting to buy off their base with marijuana

Evidently, it’s a new era at Twitter because the social media platform fact-checked President Joe Biden’s official presidential account after he told a whopper so big concerning corporations not paying taxes that even they had to call him out over it.
“Let me give you the facts. In 2020, 55 corporations made $40 billion. And they paid zero in federal taxes. My Inflation Reduction Act puts an end to this,” Biden stated, telling an egregious lie.

It is my opinion that this midterm election will not be a “red wave” or a “red tsunami.” I predict a Red Flood of almost Noahic proportions. First will come the overwhelming rejection of the Biden agenda on November 8. Then will come the rejoicing by most of Red America. But after that, the illegalities will begin, starting with challenging the vote counts and the calls for recounts. Then it will escalate to violence unless there is a plan to nip it in the bud before it starts.

Law enforcement sources that remained unnamed told CNN that the assailant was searching for the Speaker of the House. The source claims the intruder confronted the Speaker’s husband in their San Francisco home shouting, “Where is Nancy? Where is Nancy?”
This was apparently the exact call that January 6th ‘rioters’ made as they ‘hunted’ House Speaker and broke into her office.

I can't claim to have been a close friend, but John Podhoretz's affectionate portrait accords with my own trio of brief interactions. She was tough, and she survived the Clintonites' efforts to destroy her, as she had survived the efforts of others

President Joe Biden on Saturday again tried to blame Republicans for the attack on Paul Pelosi on Friday.
“You can’t condemn the violence unless you condemn those people who continue to argue the election was not real, that it’s being stolen, that all the malarkey that’s being put out there to undermine democracy,” he said.
The president spoke to reporters about the attack at a polling center in Delaware, where he voted early with his granddaughter Natalie Biden. “The talk has to stop. That’s the problem,” he said. “That’s the problem.” Biden appeared annoyed the Republicans were condemning political violence without condemning some of the rhetoric coming from their colleagues.

President Biden cast an early vote at his local polling station in Wilmington, Del. on Saturday, hoping that a Democratic free-fall in the midterm elections won’t put the brakes on his ambitious agenda.
Biden, spending his customary weekend at his Delaware home, escorted his 18-year-old granddaughter Natalie, the daughter of his late son Beau, to vote for the first time.
Biden was filmed fondling the girl’s breast during a public event over the weekend and then kissing her in front of horrified onlookers.
During the event, quickly place an “I voted” sticker on her chest.

For all of President Biden’s problems with getting numbers right, there’s one he keeps repeating. Is it accurate? Who knows. But we think we have a clue who he’s talking about.
On at least four occasions, Biden has claimed that “six Republican senators, who I know, came to me since I’ve been president and said, ‘I know you’re right, but I just can’t vote with you because I’ll get defeated in a primary.’”
And, to heighten the suspense, Biden always says something like: “I promised I would never say their names, and I will never reveal who they are.”

Facebook (now known as Meta) has suffered a $700 billion drop in market value since its peak high of more than $1 trillion in September 2021. One analyst labeled the company’s dismal earnings and future strategy a “train wreck.”
CBS News reports that Facebook has taken a huge risk in its pivot towards a virtual reality metaverse in the last year, a move that does not appear to be working out well for the Masters of the Universe.

On Sunday’s edition of NBC’s Meet the Press, anchor Chuck Todd openly fretted over the likely scenario that the pain and suffering of Americans from the rampant inflation caused by the Biden regime’s economic policies will cause voters to sweep Republicans like Kari Lake into office across the country. Todd posed his latest worry to New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu who didn’t take the bait and instead focused on what should be done in Congress next year to solve the mounting problems in the United States.

Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) said Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press” that the attack on Paul Pelosi was in part because “MAGA extremists” had villainized Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) for years.
Klobuchar said, “This was a vicious attack meant for the Speaker, ends up hammering the Speaker’s Husband, and our prayers are with her and her husband, their kids, their grandkids. A vicious attack in which she has been villainized for years, and big surprise, it’s gone viral, and it went violent.

A photo has surfaced of Twitter lawyer and “head of censorship” Vijaya Gadde allegedly giving the new “Chief Twit” Elon Musk the evil eye during an awkward meeting with nervous employees at HQ just a day before he officially fired her.
This is the same woman who was behind quashing the Hunter Biden laptop story before the 2020 presidential election and banning former President Trump from the social media platform. She permanently suspended Trump from the platform on January 8, 2021, citing “the risk of further incitement of violence” after the Capitol riot.
Gadde has been very vocal in her criticism of Musk.

There was a time when I perceived the world of politics through a deceptive lens our mainstream-media optometrists provided me. Although in every other area of my life I would apply skepticism, I made the mistake of automatically trusting them because they told me to.
From the inception of my political curiosity in my mid-20s, the people around me appealed to my race by labeling Republicans and conservatives unabashed and habitual racists. And the media I was consuming reinforced that as being the foundation of their political motivations.
Being a racist is supposed to be our agreed-upon social sin of the modern era.

Half of U.S. voters say the economy or inflation is their number one issue heading into the November 8 midterm elections, according to a recent ABC/Ipsos poll.
The poll shows that 28 percent of registered voters say the economy is their single most important issue for determining their ballot, while 22 percent say inflation is. Furthermore, 73 percent of Republican voters list the economy and inflation as their top issue going into the midterm elections — with 45 percent saying the economy and 28 percent saying inflation.
The poll also found that half of independent voters (50 percent) say either the economy or inflation is their number one issue going into November.

Independent voters are breaking for Republican candidates less than two weeks before the November 8 midterm elections.
According to CBS/YouGov polling from October 12 to 14, independent voters preferred generic congressional Democrat candidates over Republican ones by 40 percent to 38 percent. However, in a second poll from October 26 to 28, independents said they preferred generic congressional Republican candidates over Democrat candidates by 49 percent to 33 percent. This means that Republicans saw an 18-point swing in their favor among independent voters over a two-week period. The CBS/YouGov web-based poll surveyed 1,000 Americans and has a +/- 3.5 percent margin of error.

CBS’s Sunday Morning started off with their anchor Jane Pauley fearmongering that if Republicans win in the 2022 midterm elections, “democracy” could end in the United States. Plugging an upcoming segment by correspondent Robert Costa, Pauley fretted that “the very future of our democracy” is on the ballot in 2022.
“This past summer, it was looking like the Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v Wade might offer an opportunity to the party in power, the Democrats. But a more recent issue, inflation, could very well rule the day. And favor Republicans,” Pauley bemoaned.

Twitter plans to start charging nearly $20 a month for users to keep their blue checkmarks as part of a premium service that will be rolled out under Elon Musk’s leadership, according to a report.
“The whole verification process is being revamped right now,” Musk, who took over as the CEO of the social media platform Friday, tweeted Sunday.
The hefty price bump is reportedly one of the revamps, The Verge reported.
The company plans to raise its optional $4.99-a-month premium subscription called Twitter Blue to $19.99 a month.

It looks like Twitter’s Board and Law firm may be in very big trouble.
Elon Musk tweeted that the Twitter Board and the law firm that worked for Twitter, Wachtell, may have withheld information from him and the court. (Tweets) This is big news for Twitter and its law firm if it is true.
As we reported previously: (Snip) Not only might the Twitter Board and Attorney be in trouble for lying with the court, but the these entities would be in trouble with the SEC as well for filing false statements as we reported earlier as well.
