The mainstream media lied to me about conservatives

There was a time when I perceived the world of politics through a deceptive lens our mainstream-media optometrists provided me. Although in every other area of my life I would apply skepticism, I made the mistake of automatically trusting them because they told me to.
From the inception of my political curiosity in my mid-20s, the people around me appealed to my race by labeling Republicans and conservatives unabashed and habitual racists. And the media I was consuming reinforced that as being the foundation of their political motivations.
Being a racist is supposed to be our agreed-upon social sin of the modern era.

Man discovers water is wet, writes article (that gets published!) admitting to his COMPLETE FAILURE as a citizen to know the truth on his own, and is given praise. Any adult that doesn’t understand that the media is filled with awful, empty, broken, dishonest, narcissistic and selfish louts merely filling-in between the ads is probably too stupid to be allowed to vote. Been that way my entire life.

Usually, the mid-20s is when the light comes on. One discovers that everything learned in college is back asswards and upside down.

"The immoral people I’m supposed to be constantly scared of, I find, are rare in our society, and that was my experience in rural conservative America."
THAT is a critical piece of wisdom. Most people are just people, too busy living their own lives to worry about skin color. That doesn't mean that many won't think dumb things about Blacks, who they have little personal experience with. Or they may not relate to the truth of Black existence in America. That is partly the fault of many Blacks who have worked hard at being NOT white. But all in all, given the normal acclimation of meeting strangers, most people are pretty accommodating of others.
"conservatism’s ideological framework does not advocate bigotry. Conservatism promotes individualism, which means it places importance on conducting interactions in line with someone’s character content over his or her melanin content."
WELL SAID!

If you ever believed the lying media you’ve got a serious mental disorder. Either that or you parents were messed up as well and didn’t do a good job early on getting your mind right.

Did the writer call out the left as being racist? He alluded to being 'kept on the plantation' so to speak, but never identified their hatred of conservatives as racism.

Is this some kind of confession? Are we supposed to be impressed that once he stopped partying and entered the REAL world, he discovered the MSM is full of dung.

Yeah Ted Kennedy was a hero, the Clinton Foundation gave billions to Haiti and Hunter Biden's laptop was stolen and reprogrammed by a white supremacist and 10,000 other media/communist creations over his lifetime. You don't have to be black to be stupid. A lot of white suburban housewives are marching with you. I hope he re-reads his article and seriously considers why he believed what he was told not that he believed it.

The salvation of our republic depends on individual awakenings, one at a time. We need to learn our part in the process which includes embracing the newly awakened or even partially awakened with open arms.
My freedom depends on other people realizing that their entire political belief structure has been based on a web of lies and they not only fell for a con job, they slandered, ridiculed and vilified me for not joining them in the deception. Furthermore, that deception required them to ignore the obvious and accept the utterly absurd. It's a tall order.

At a very young age before I ever cast my first vote in an election, I understood the media lied. Retuning from a war I viewed the media as subtle liars now they're just blatant outright liars. I would never write something like the author of this article admits to.

Now that he's aware that most Whites aren't systemically racist, he might want to do an investigation into why most blacks are.

I'm glad to see one more thinking person getting out from the Dem lie machine. He calls it a fortress that he "pickaxed" his way out of. I, like many others, prefer the plantation analogy.
Either way, Dems' hold on many is based on a huge body of lies. Get past those lies and check for yourself, and you'll suddenly discover......"Hey, they have been lying to me!".
Welcome to the real world, sir. It's a nice place out here, free of those stifling lies.
