Thirty-eight people were hurt, with two suffering life-threatening injuries, after a fire broke out inside a 37-story building in Manhattan on Saturday.
The FDNY reported that a three-alarm fire erupted from the battery of a micro-mobility device, or e-scooter, at around 10:30am on the 20th floor of an apartment building at 429 East 52nd Street.
Officials said at least two dozen residents rushed to the roof while others hung out of their windows to try and escape the fire.
Harrowing video on social media shows the moment firefighters quickly worked to perform a rope rescue of two people clinging from the building.

President Biden has yet to call Benjamin Netanyahu and congratulate him on his win in this week’s Israeli elections, even though interim Prime Minister Yair Lapid conceded defeat.
A National Security Council spokesperson told Fox News Digital that President Biden will speak with Netanyahu "soon," but avoided outright naming Netanyahu the prime minister-elect – instead saying that "Mr. Netanyahu, after winning a plurality in the Knesset, is likely to be tasked with forming a government over the coming days."
"The president has known and worked with Bibi Netanyahu for many years," the spokesperson added. "They worked closely together when Netanyahu was prime minister last year,

On Friday, Twitter owner Elon Musk reportedly cut 3,700 Twitter employees, or over half of the company’s workforce globally, to reign in Twitter’s costs, according to the Verge. (Snip) One self-absorbed employee was so upset after learning she lost her HR job at Twitter that she posted a photo of herself crying.
To prevent sabotage, Twitter temporarily shut down all of its offices and disabled badge access to all physical locations. An email was sent to its employees on Thursday informing them to “go home and not return to the offices on Friday.”

Daylight saving time ends early Sunday morning — as the bi-annual practice of changing our clocks continues to divide the U.S.
A study published this month found the shift to standard time each fall results in a 16% jump in deer-vehicle crashes because of an abrupt increase in night-time driving. Researchers say a permanent move to daylight saving time (DST) could prevent nearly 37,000 of these collisions annually in the U.S.
The U.S. Senate unanimously approved a bill in March to make DST permanent. But sleep experts say standard time is better for human circadian biology,

Liberals suffered a tragic loss when MSNBC suddenly and unexpectedly pulled the plug on Tiffany Cross, whose unapologetic, anti-white racism had drawn much criticism, with her former network colleague Joy Reid being among the most saddened.
The controversial weekend host’s time at the left-wing cable network officially came to an end when her “bad judgment” finally caught up with her after a lewd remark that Florida is the “d*ck of the country,” which was apparently the last straw for NBC Universal executives who were already growing tired of her act.
At the end of Friday’s edition of “The Reid Out,” MSNBC’s surviving racist stood up for her dearly departed counterpart,

In the league of legends of Silicon Valley, Jack Dorsey — the co-founder of Twitter who stepped down as CEO a year ago this month — has long had a reputation as the cool hippie with the beard who likes to go off and meditate in between dating models and fasting.
Now, barely a week since his fellow billionaire businessman Elon Musk snapped up Twitter for $44 billion, Dorsey, 46, is launching a social media company called Bluesky: a new kind of decentralized platform that promises to give users and developers more autonomy.

President Joe Biden expressed optimism Friday about Democrat chances in the midterm elections, despite polls showing support shifting toward Republicans.
“I feel really good about our chances,” he told reporters, speaking briefly about the upcoming elections before boarding Air Force One.
Biden expressed confidence about the midterms after leaving a campaign event in California Friday evening for a trip to Chicago for another event.
The president predicted Democrats would pick up a seat in the Senate and keep the majority in the House.

Joe Biden Friday afternoon told reporters that what gives him the most confidence going into the midterm elections is that Americans want more of his policies.
Biden stopped and spoke to reporters as he prepared to depart San Diego en route to Chicago, Illinois where he will participate in a political reception.
“The thing that gives me the most confidence is the fact that the policies we’ve initiated people care about, they want more!” Biden said to reporters on the tarmac.
The arrogance of this guy!

New York’s neck-and-neck race for governor has suddenly gotten the attention of prominent national democrats — for all the wrong reasons.
Party bigwigs appear to be in panic mode, critics note, flooding the 2-to-1 Democratic enrollment Empire State with big names like Bill, Hillary, Joe and Kamala in the final stretch to Tuesday’s election as Gov. Kathy Hochul has rapidly lost ground to Republican challenger Rep. Lee Zeldin.
“New York Democrats are smashing the glass and pulling the fire alarm,” state Republican Party Chair Nick Langworthy said Friday.

The House Judiciary Committee slammed the FBI for 'turning a blind eye' and giving Hunter Biden 'preferential treatment' in a 1,050 page report released Friday.
Senior Republicans claimed the Bureau 'downplayed' the scandal of Hunter's foreign business deals and potential illegal activity in the weeks before the 2020 presidential election and 'even colluded with social media platform Facebook to suppress information.'
The report pointed to an interview in August this year of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg on the Joe Rogan Experience, in which Zuckerberg admitted his company censored stories about Joe Biden's involvement in Hunter's business dealings after the FBI warned them to be on 'on high alert' for 'Russian propaganda'.

A secret Sept. 1 meeting may have put Hakeem Jeffries on the map to replace California representative Nancy Pelosi’s role as top House Democrat, Politico reports.
House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn of South Carolina and Rep. Hakeem Jeffries of New York, who chairs the House Democratic Caucus, met up at Clyburn’s office during the summer congressional recess, according to the outlet. Jeffries became aware of a “quiet campaign” from California Rep. Adam Schiff for the speakership, inspiring the New York congressman to fly out to California and speak with Clyburn. At the meeting, Clyburn reportedly expressed his full support for Jeffries’ bid.

The establishment media have ignored the physical attack against Republican New Hampshire candidate Gen. Don Bolduc.
The three top establishment newspapers, the New York Times, Washington Post, and Los Angeles Times, all failed to report the physical attack on Gen. Bolduc that occurred moments before Wednesday’s debate with Democrat Maggie Hassan (D-NH).
The media’s decision to not report on the act of political violence against a Republican is notable. Attacks against Republicans run counter to the media’s narrative of violence singly perpetrated by Republicans.
