Supreme Court leans toward ending affirmative
action in college admissions

Washington - Conservative Supreme Court justices on Monday indicated they are willing to end the explicit consideration of race in college admissions as they weighed cases challenging affirmative action policies at the University of North Carolina and Harvard University. Members of the court's conservative majority questioned the legal rationale for allowing the practice and probed to what extent universities could enact new "race neutral" admissions policies aimed at improving racial diversity. Some justices, however, indicated they would be willing to allow applicants to discuss their racial identity in some form as part of essays touching upon their experiences, such as examples of overcoming discrimination.

If they stop affirmative action in colleges, not many blacks will go to college, If they stop affirmative action in jobs a lot of federal agencies will be able to lay off a lot of employee's as they start hiring people who can do the job.;

I have always wondered, as I lay on a gurney, life zing from my body, a doctor appears over me. Will the first question I ask be, 'did you have a diverse medial educations with lesbians, trannies , quota blacks and homosexuals next to you in class and how will that save my life now? We are no longer a country of merit and success. Just quotas.

If three generations of preferential treatment doesn’t propel a family forward then they can’t be helped. Maybe Blacks and Hispanics will lose preferential treatment but we all had better buckle down and compete at the very highest academic and intellectual levels just like the people of Asian descent who work exhaustively and regard education and job performance with the utmost of seriousness.

The problem is that the public K to 12 education system has failed to prepare many students, especially minority students, to compete academically. We must start immediately to give parents choices for their children's K to 12 education and wait a generation for them to be ready for college.

Let’s see minority graduation numbers, drop out numbers compared to those numbers admitted over last 15 years. If the rate is much lower than those admitted it is time to place your resources on more viable candidates for admission. Harvard and the like never publish minority graduation information from my understanding.

Fifty years of success dumbing down the entire work/education force is enough, just as three generations of imbeciles are enough. (Hat tip O. W. Holmes). AA is an utter failure and has contributed to more resentment than just about any other court decision in my long life. If SCOTUS rules against it, it will be a great day in our history. Bring back the merit system. Historically, it is the only thing that works and enhances the lives of everyone. The more competent the people are who serve, heal, fly, teach, legislate, etc, the more ALL people benefit.

Do it, SCOTUS! AA is downright evil - it sets minorities up for failure by admitting them when they aren’t ready or qualified. When they can’t cut it and drop out, they are damaged for life. And minorities who work hard and are admitted on merit are always suspected by everyone else of being just another unqualified AA beneficiary. It damages them as well.

Affirmative action is the liberal solution to a public education system that has failed kids of all races and a minority culture that does not make their kids education a priority. These same parents demand that their kids be allowed admission to colleges where they are going to struggle and ultimately fail. They refuse to address or even define the root causes. It is a useless process.

If diversity is as desirable as the academic class tells us, why are colleges and universities so hostile to conservative points of view? Why do journalism schools consistently turn out talking heads who willingly participate in left-wing propaganda? The folks I know who immediately recognized the Russia hoax as political propaganda didn't have to go to journalism school to know they were being lied to. Why did teachers' unions conspire with politicians to keep students out of school? Surely they understood that the most harm would be done to poor and minority students. And that is what happened. No wonder the folks who held them back want more affirmative action. By themselves, they have enlarged the pool of students who will need affirmative action to compete for the most prestigious spots.

The problem with race based discrimination, is that it discriminates against prospective students based on their race. This means that Asians and asian-americans are discriminated AGAINST, to favor others. "Hi, I want to attend Harvard. " "What race are you?" No one should ever hear this response.

Joe Biden was at a reception for Florida Democratic gubernatorial candidate Charlie Crist in Golden Beach, Florida, on Tuesday. That followed a nightmare rally with Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL), which had all kinds of issues–as we reported here and here–in a festival of confusion, including saying his son died in Iraq, forgetting what FEMA stands for, confusing Iraq and Ukraine, and claiming he spoke with the “inventor of insulin.” While there, he also spoke about the attack on Paul Pelosi. Biden lied and claimed that no one in the Republican Party leadership had condemned the attack. That’s just not true; several have, including President Donald Trump (who called it “terrible”), Senate Minority Leader

The decision is a victory for Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, whose office is investigating phone calls Graham made to Georgia election officials at a time when then-President Donald Trump was contesting the result. As a result of the court action, the subpoena can now be enforced, although Graham could refuse to answer questions by invoking his right against self-incrimination under the Constitution's Fifth Amendment.
