Sara Bareilles revealed she was leaving Twitter amid Hollywood backlash following Elon Musk's takeover of the social media platform just days before.
"Welp. It’s been fun Twitter. I’m out," the Grammy award-winning artist wrote Sunday morning. "See you on other platforms, peeps. Sorry, this one’s just not for me."
Bareilles joined a chorus of celebrities leaving Twitter following the SpaceX billionaire finally acquiring the site and becoming CEO after finalizing a $44 billion takeover Thursday.

If you were to ask me about who’s who in Hollyweird today, I’m afraid I’ve come up empty. Haven’t been to a movie in over 5 years now. Done with them.

#1, I agree. Who is this person?
My kids are loving Twitter now. They say the comments are wickedly funny as the truth is getting out there. The left is learning it’s not so much fun when your worldview is being challenged. That’s why they are fleeing the Twitterverse. Elon open the door and welcomed differing opinions and leftists cry foul and flee.

#4, that's good news, that the Right is getting its message out and the Left are pi$$ed. That means it's working. You can only push people so far before they rebel. We need far more Republicans rebellion than we've got right now. We need to vote RINOs out of office, cleanse the Party and get more fire-breathers in there.

It’s a threat to our democracy if opposing (or alternative) views are allowed to be expressed.

Who cares? I'm glad that finally I'll be getting info I can use to decide from people in the know. I won't miss Cher or Bette. Sometimes their viewpoints were interesting to hear, but frankly I don't care about them.

This will turn out to be like all of those celebrities who threatened to move from the USA when Trump was elected. Nobody actually left. They won't leave Twitter either. Otherwise nobody will know who they are and they will miss the adoration they feel from their followers. Wish celebrities would actually follow through on their threats in this case.

It looks like they are heading for the exits. With absolutely no sense of irony, the next port of call for the leftists is Tribel Social where they guarantee censorship and no mean messages ever unless you're hating on conservatives.
A tribe indeed - more like a cult.

She has a honker that would compete with Jimmy Durante.

Excellent!!!
They are probably on platforms that no one has heard of except their own little echo chamber of fellow starlets (including the "men") and hangers on. They can babble to each other as much as they want and, hopefully, we will never hear quotes from them again.
It's kind of like Chrissy Wallace going to CNN where no one listens to him, except when he whines about his lousy choices and current fate and we can delightfully wallow in schadenfreude and all laugh at him, the supposed "elite". He banished himself. Too funny!

#9, we are NOT a democracy. That is a buzzword for single party rule such as we have now...democrats in charge. We are a representative republic. That is what is threatened, and has be under assault for decades.

What a bunch of sanctimonious jackasses. I don’t know, nor do I care about, any of these people. (The exception is Ken Olin, who is a has-been actor.) They are legends in their own hive minds and among themselves. Notice how none of them have experienced anything different on Twitter at this point, yet just the idea that they no longer get to control all thought and speech has them running for the hills. What a sad, sad statement about the world in which they live. Well, thanks to their buying of Democrat politicians, they have more money than God. Let them create the Huffington Tw*t. Twit. I meant Twit.

Musk's takeover AND his decision to charge twenty bucks a month for the verified-identity accounts will quickly deflate the membership of Twitter and lead to its demise. This will drive home that the platform didn't create the culture of lies, but the people who popularized the platform turned it into the sewer of darkness that facilitated the abject mess we see today.

I love the art of cinema, I love a moving song or scene, but I detest overpaid bullies who should kiss the ground of the country that made them rich beyond their dreams for skills that actually aren't that hard to find. Oh well, in the meantime Hollywood seems determined to destroy itself by churning out loud, crass, reruns with lousy actors and predictable plots. Go for it.

I would guess the addition of a whole section of people who had been shut out of the platform will more than compensate for the few "celebrities" who decide they can't handle an open forum instead of the group-think they desire.
