A California father's harrowing final moments have emerged in harrowing police footage showing him scream 'I can't breathe' while dying as he was held face-down on the ground so cops could extract a blood sample. Edward Bronstein, 38, died on March 31, 2020, less than two months before George Floyd was killed by police in Minnesota, after an altercation during his arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence. He was pulled over for a DUI, but taken to a police station after refusing to give a blood sample, which his family says was due to a fear of needles.(Snip)Five officers can be seen kneeling on him

And it’s not even close, despite Politico’s carefully crafted lead:
American voters are sharply divided over two contentious bills Florida’s state Legislature recently passed that deal with the teaching of race and gender identity, according to a new POLITICO/Morning Consult poll of registered voters.
“Sharply divided,” in this case, means majority support for the supposed “Don’t Say Gay” bill that Ron DeSantis has endorsed. That’s no narrow window either, but instead a 51/35 support level for restricting discussions of sexual orientation and gender identity below the fourth-grade level. An even slightly higher percentage, 52/37, support limiting such discussions at and above that level to “age-appropriate discussions.”
That isn’t just a GOP phenomenon either:

The Federal Reserve announced on Wednesday that it will raise interests rates by a quarter of a percentage point, hiking rates for the first time since December 2018 in an effort to curb rising inflation.
Following their March meeting, Fed officials said in a statement that the Federal Open Market Committee would raise the benchmark federal funds rate in order to cool an overheated economy, bringing the rate to between .25 and .5 percent.
“With appropriate firming in the stance of monetary policy, the committee expects inflation to return to its 2 percent objective and the labor market to remain strong,” the Fed said in its March statement, adding that

According to a recent story in The New York Times, in a meeting with the president last month to discuss the party’s messaging, Speaker Nancy Pelosi came armed with an alternate slogan to replace the “Build Back Better” phrase, which some Democrats call “toxic” these days. Pelosi’s substitute? One of the worst political slogans in recent memory — “Democrats Deliver,” which the Times reported had tested at the bottom of a list of potential messages.
One can only wonder whether anyone on her team raised the obvious follow-on question, “Deliver what?” It’s just too easy.
Republicans would have a field day answering the question for them.

Ukraine has killed another Russian general in a further “serious blow to the morale” of the invading forces, a government adviser said Wednesday.
Maj. Gen. Oleg Mityaev died Tuesday during the storming of Ukraine’s most devastated city, Mariupol, according to Interior Ministry adviser Anton Gerashchenko — who later posted a photo of the body.
Mityaev would be at least the fourth general killed during the invasion, which Kremlin officials are reportedly calling a complete “clusterf–k.’’ Mityaev, 46, commanded the 150th Motorized Rifle Division and had fought in Syria, Gerashchenko said, saying his body was found with “the shoulder straps of a major general.”

Ukrainian refugees are being turned away at the U.S. southern border because asylum seekers are still subject to coronavirus-era Title 42, which allows migrants to be expelled due to the ongoing health emergency. President Joe Biden has kept the Trump-era policy in place and his administration has defended it in court in order to help quell the southern border crisis as the pandemic prevails and record numbers of migrants arrive.(Snip)The outlet said Tijuana journalists have witnessed dozens of Ukrainian and Russian families gathering outside the U.S. southern border and families in Tijuana claim Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents are selective of who they let in.

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas announced Wednesday he will grant Temporary Protected Status to many Afghans already in the U.S., giving them a new level of status. TPS confers key benefits like work permits to migrants, allowing them a chance to put down roots in society. As a tentative legal status, it also blocks deportations, though the Biden administration had already halted removals to Afghanistan after the country’s takeover by the Taliban last year. Homeland Security said “ongoing armed conflict” involving the Taliban and attacks by Islamic State-Khorasan have left the country too unstable for people to be forced to return. “This TPS designation will help to protect Afghan

PIERRE, S.D. — The National Park Service has denied South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem’s request to mark the Fourth of July with fireworks at Mount Rushmore, citing opposition from Native American tribes as well as the possibility of igniting wildfires. “Mount Rushmore is the best place in America to celebrate our nation’s birthday – I just wish President Biden could see that,” the Republican governor said in a statement Tuesday. “Last year, the President hypocritically held a fireworks celebration in Washington, D.C., while denying us our own event. This year, it looks like they are planning to do the same.”

President Biden is under fire for allowing U.S. tax dollars to fund government research in Russia, including “stomach-churning” scientific tests on cats, despite championing economic sanctions against the country for its invasion of Ukraine. Republican lawmakers say that if Mr. Biden is serious about punishing Russia’s belligerence, the White House needs to stop subsidizing Moscow’s research labs. They note that Russia has four facilities conducting scientific research that are approved by the National Institutes of Health to receive grants funded by American tax dollars. “Our tax dollars should never be going to our foreign adversaries, especially as the U.S. puts crippling sanctions on the Kremlin,” said Rep. President Joe Biden is mulling over whether to provide Ukraine with deadly tank-killing kamikaze “Switchblade” drones as part of a $1 billion arms package to assist President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his fight against invading Russian forces. The drones are small, lightweight, and inexpensive. They carry remotely controlled bombs and come in two versions that are designed to take out tanks or artillery targets with “loitering missiles.”Washington DC-based AeroVironment is the producer of the technology. The proposal to send the drones to Ukraine was first reported by NBC News.

President Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukraine is going through 9/11 and Pearl Harbor every day, urged the US to protect his skies as he invoked Martin Luther King and the Founding Fathers in a heart-wrenching speech to Congress on Wednesday morning. He also confronted President Joe Biden and told him to become the 'leader of the free world', demanded more sanctions for Russia to stop the 'war machine', asked for fighter jets and shared devastating footage of civilians being maimed in Kyiv as he called on lawmakers to 'do more' to protect his country.'I am addressing the President Biden. Yesterday was another banner day for Joe Biden’s cognitive inabilities. As RedState reported, he managed to bungle the announcement of Kamala Harris’ husband having COVID-19 no less than three different ways.
Here’s what that looked like.
Biden first says that the “First Lady’s husband contracted COVID,” apparently missing the fact that he’s the First Lady’s husband. Not even realizing his glaring misstep, Jill Biden has to interject from the sidelines in an attempt to rescue him.

British Airways has become the world’s first major airline to remove mask mandates onboard the aircraft for passengers from Wednesday, in a move shortly followed by Virgin Atlantic.
Britain’s second-largest airline firm announced on Tuesday that they will no longer require passengers to wear masks on board their planes and will instead allow people to “make a personal choice” on the matter.
Yet, British Airways did note that there will be an exception for flights to countries with their own “restrictions and legal requirements,” which currently includes nations such as the United States.

Does Joe Biden have any idea of where he is? What he's doing? Who his vice president is?
Get a load of his latest gaffe: (Snip for tweet) So after all that effort to build Kamala Harris up as presidential and leader-like, most recently sending her Europe to represent the U.S. on its most significant crisis there since World War II, making much of Harris being "the last person in the room," gaffing that Harris was president, declaring the Biden administration the Biden-Harris administration, featuring Harris in Vogue as the "most powerful" woman in the U.S., the truth comes out: Harris is a placeholder, an affirmative action hire,

Evidence has come to light strongly indicating that the Moderna and Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines are not really "vaccines" in the medical and legal sense of the word, but rather "experimental gene therapies." If proven true, the significance and legal ramifications of this allegation are profound. (snip) "By their own patents and reference material, neither Pfizer nor Moderna claims this. Along with President Joe Biden and Congress, the Federal Reserve has a responsibility to manage inflation, a job it was established to do. And just like Biden and Congress, the Fed has failed at its job.
At the Fed’s own website, it states clearly what its primary job is, by law: “Conducting the nation’s monetary policy by influencing money and credit conditions in the economy in pursuit of full employment and stable prices.”
Well, today, we have neither “full employment” nor “stable prices.” On Tuesday, the government reported that wholesale prices, that is prices just a step before retail, surged 10% in February.

On the rainy morning of March 28, 2020, President Trump addressed a phalanx of journalists outside the White House following a call with New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo. “There’s a possibility that sometime today, we’ll do a quarantine — short-term, two weeks — of New York, probably New Jersey, and certain parts of Connecticut,” he said while clutching his umbrella. “This would be an enforceable quarantine. You know, I’d rather not do it, but we may need it.” Hours later, Cuomo was asked during his daily press conference about Trump’s comments. “From a medical point of view, I don’t know what you’d be accomplishing,”

Three-quarters of Americans are worried Russia will use nuclear weapons in Ukraine, a Rasmussen Reports survey released Monday found.
The survey asked respondents to reveal how concerned they are by the prospect of Russia using nuclear weapons in its invasion of Ukraine.
Overall, 77 percent are concerned, and of those 41 percent are “very concerned.” Just 21 percent expressed little concern, but only five percent said they are “not at all concerned.”
A majority of Democrats (81 percent), Republicans (75 percent), and independents (73 percent) share that concern as well.

Amid economic turmoil for the American people, their representatives in Washington gave their offices a double-digit raise this month even as the average American worker finds their real wages decreasing due to inflation that outpaces wages at new.If you missed Congress giving itself a little pat on the back, that's understandable — members aren't likely to tout outside the beltway how they're filling their own office coffers, plus the funding increase for congressional offices was just one part of the 2,700+ page omnibus bill that funded the U.S. government to the tune of some $1.5 trillion.

Human Events reports:
Democratic super PAC American Bridge accused Trump of breaking campaign finance laws on Monday because he hasn’t yet formally announced whether he will run in 2024.
The group told the New York Times that it is filing a formal complaint with the Federal Election Commission and using Trump’s own words in the complaint, The Hill reports.

If you read Allahpundit’s post earlier then you know there’s some speculation that the clock is ticking on the Russian invasion. Retired Lt. Gen. Ben Hodges estimates Russia can only sustain its current levels of deployment for about 10 more days before its troops and ammunition are depleted to the point they can’t really mount an effective fight. Hodges also pointed to the possibility of a Russian default as soon as tomorrow which would also create serious domestic problems that might keep Putin occupied.
Lt. Gen. Hodges was quick to say his view of the current situation was based not on any inside information or intelligence
