A California father's harrowing final moments have emerged in harrowing police footage showing him scream 'I can't breathe' while dying as he was held face-down on the ground so cops could extract a blood sample. Edward Bronstein, 38, died on March 31, 2020, less than two months before George Floyd was killed by police in Minnesota, after an altercation during his arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence. He was pulled over for a DUI, but taken to a police station after refusing to give a blood sample, which his family says was due to a fear of needles.(Snip)Five officers can be seen kneeling on him

It's OK to kill him. He was white. His life didn't matter. That's the way it rolls now.

This site is now all trolls. Anyone can scream "I can't breathe" when in a panic of anxiety.
What did the autopsy show? Post the findings and the lab work.
Then we'll talk.

I don't understand why this reaction to a DUI, whereas criminals push people downstairs, push them in front of subways trains, beat the crap out of people and they are let go to do it again.

I think anyone who reads the Daily Mail is leftist and only hangs around to sow discontent. Why would any sentient human being post this garbage?

Another dead meth-head, but since this one wasn't black there were no buildings burned down or businesses looted, or virtue-signaling wealthy celebrities and pampered overpaid athletes mugging for the cameras.

Maybe we should go burn down L.A., in a mostly peaceful riot?

Since when do police take blood samples? Is this only done in the California Soviet Union? How about using a breathalyzer? Seems less invasive to me.

My dad was a local Barny Fife county special deputy, part time cop weekends holidays summers when he was off from teaching. He had been an MP in the Army and taught hand to hand combat so I will concede he was a bit more prepared than Barny. By the time I was in my early teens I was bigger and stronger than him. But he could drop and control me any time he wanted by using his magic cop/Army stuff. As much as I think you get what you ask for when you resist, I have a hard time grasping why police need to resort to going for the neck when they have the numbers in their favor. When it's one on one and the perp is massive that's another matter.

I have a big 6'4" cowboy friend of mine who is deathly afraid of needles to the point where he panicked in the hospital when he had Covid. Since when do cops draw blood in an arrest in public? Something's not right.

The leading indicator that you can breath is that your are saying, "I can't breath." People who can't breath communicate with pantomime.

Agree with #14. Since when do police have the right and the knowledge on how to do blood work? How much training have they had? How much experience? Guaranteed, not nearly enough.
I'm absolutely no fan of needles. It goes all the way back to my childhood. Was sick for two weeks before my mother took me to a doctor. It was a walk of ten city blocks. Doctor gives me a shot, and I passed out. Reality says getting jabbed isn't a big deal. The fear says otherwise. its a battle. People react badly to needles. I hate doing blood work. I will never donate blood. If I have dental work, I insist on getting knocked out.
Cops are doing blood work now? This is nothing but a new form of intimidation. People will react badly to this.

Not once did he say please don’t I’m afraid of needles. He did keep saying he’ll do it willingly and kept resisting. If you are tagged for DUI you have to prove your sobriety. Obviously this fellow did not comply if it got all the way to having a court order issued. Seriously, did anyone watch the harassment of Allen Wests wife in Texas? 2 hours of on street field sobriety tests while grandchild strapped in car seat and they still hauled her off to jail where she invoked her rights and denied blood draw and showed receipts from the dinner she left where she consumed lemonade. Oh she is black, harassed by a black cop, husband running for political office. Status is not the issue, blind justice should be.

He's not black, don't worry about it. The media always calls them "father" when they are trying to elicit sympathy for some drunk or drug addict. Just cooperate and you won't have five cops kneeling on you. Why were five cops involved in a DUI?

Trypanophobia is an irrational fear of injections by hypodermic needle. With the exception of intravenous drug users, most people do not like being stuck by anything but have learned to put up with it when giving blood or getting shots. The only people who get to stick me wear medical uniforms. These are doctors, nurses, and blood technicians only. No one else.
If a drunk gets into a car and puts it into motion on a public street, he's earned his blood test at the lab at the police station, not at the scene of the infraction. This doesn't look right to me.

The liberal/Democrat response to this will be to have every police officer teamed up with a social worker and a nurse.

Al Sharpton: We will riot in the streets! We will take it to the man! We will get justice for Eric! Resist we much!
Benjamin Crump: Uh Al he's a White guy.
Patrisse Cullors: So no riots then?
Al Sharpton: Not this time but something is bound to come up.

It's in the article, his cause of death was meth overdose. Not asphyxiation, not broken bones - he died poisoned with an illegal drug he willingly ingested. The effects of that massive dose caused his arrest, a court ordered blood test (see article), his irrational aggression, and finally police restraint. Like George Floyd, he died by his own hand. Cops were there, but they did NOT kill him.

#10 gives a plain and simple truth, something that American Pravda seems less-inclined to do (or maybe just less able to achieve) every decade.
Not to mention that a racing heart (one result of a large dose of meth) gives the feeling of being unable to catch ones breath.

Essentially if he was compliant with the instructions given to him by the police the dead man would be alive today.

Perhaps so, but the auto insurance industry stood to make a lot of extra money on him, and probably the city too with fines and whatnot.
