PIERRE, S.D. — The National Park Service has denied South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem’s request to mark the Fourth of July with fireworks at Mount Rushmore, citing opposition from Native American tribes as well as the possibility of igniting wildfires. “Mount Rushmore is the best place in America to celebrate our nation’s birthday – I just wish President Biden could see that,” the Republican governor said in a statement Tuesday. “Last year, the President hypocritically held a fireworks celebration in Washington, D.C., while denying us our own event. This year, it looks like they are planning to do the same.”

Comments:

Biden is like a 2-bit tyrant, using federal power to punish or reward as he sees fit.

This isn't about tribe opposition or wildfires. It is about the deep state politicians and bureaucrats not wanting to celebrate this country and its greatness but instead wanting to tear it down and institute deep state control by whatever means available.

#5, this is much more here than “fireworks displays.” It is about unjust and transparent punishment of red states for daring to question the political narratives forced on them by the evil forces on the coasts who see the rest of the states only as a means to feed and serve the elites. Yes, there are bigger problems than this, but we’re not going to be shamed from pointing out evil acts of government overreach simply because other crises exist. The Left is trying to do this with their “how horrible you are to criticize gas prices when there are people dying in Ukraine.”

Why do the Native American Tribes oppose fireworks over Mt. Rushmore? They claim that the land is sacred. Is Mt. Rushmore sacred land like everything in Islam is sacred land? It is only sacred land when it serves a political or gives the tribes an upper hand financially. It is a bunch of mountains, rocks, and trees. They can claim that everything is sacred land. As for the threat of wildfires; they held fireworks for years and years. Have there ever been wildfires as a result of the fireworks?

Progressive Democrats in the House of Representatives are reportedly planning to publicly urge President Biden to ban oil drilling on federal lands amid record gas prices and a war in Ukraine that has disrupted oil markets. California legislators — Democrats and Republicans — are in rare agreement: It’s time for the state to repeal a racist, classist provision in the state Constitution that makes it harder to build affordable housing. Article 34 was adopted in 1950 amid a discriminatory backlash against public housing. It requires that cities get voter approval before they build “low-rent housing” funded with public dollars. And yet, lawmakers have been hesitant to put the Article 34 repeal on the ballot. An attempt was dropped in 2020 and revived this year for the 2022 ballot, but it may be postponed until 2024. The

About 40 parked cars were damaged in the large explosion, but no one was injured. "Traces of explosives and clues suggesting that this was not a reconnaissance aircraft were found. Saudi Arabia on Saturday executed 81 people convicted of crimes ranging from killings to belonging to militant groups — the largest known mass execution carried out in the kingdom in its modern history. The executions carried out surpassed even the toll of a January 1980 mass execution for the 63 militants convicted of seizing the Grand Mosque in Mecca in 1979, the worst-ever militant attack to target the kingdom and Islam's holiest site. It wasn't clear why the kingdom choose Saturday for the executions, though they came as much of the world's attention remained focused on Russia's war on Ukraine. The

Russia widened its military attacks in Ukraine on Friday, striking in some major western locations for the first time amid ongoing peace talks that have failed to produce any meaningful results. The new Russian airstrikes started just before dawn as Moscow's military rained bombs on some locations, Ukraine's Emergency Service said. WASHINGTON — Some social media users suggest that soaring fuel prices in the U.S. aren’t the result of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, increased consumption or supply chain issues as daily life resumes after two years of stagnation brought on by the coronavirus pandemic. Instead, the flurry of Facebook and Twitter posts offer, without evidence, that a nefarious scheme is underway: President Joe Biden’s administration is intentionally driving up the price of gas to get more American drivers behind the wheel of an electric car. “$6.00 a gallon gas is how you get people to buy electric cars,” claims one popular
