The federal government will pay a $127.5 million settlement over the Parkland, Fla. school massacre—after it admitted the FBI didn’t follow up on two tips that could have prevented the massacre.
The legal deal announced Wednesday settles 40 lawsuits tied to the 2018 massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, which remains the largest high school shooting in US history.(Snip)In one instance, a YouTuber had told the bureau that Cruz had posted “Im going to be a professional school shooter” on the comment section of one of his videos. Even though the username of the poster was “Nikolas Cruz,” agents at the time said they could not determine

This is a double blessing. We pay the FBI to practice and perfect peak incompetence, and then pay the penalty for their incompetence.

Perhaps the FBI was getting a jump start on investigating possible "domestic terrorists" that attend school board meetings asking what is being taught their children. FBI Director Christopher "Wicked" Wray, what say you?

How generous of the government to have every family in the entire country pay a buck to the families of the victims (or more likely to their lawyers). The FBI did not cause this event, and it is highly unlikely that they could have prevented it.

A hundred and twenty eight million dollars because the FBI is incompetent? The incompetent FBI isn't paying for what they did. We are. We need to get rid of the corrupt FBI.

The FBI is not only negligent, but actively work against the best interest of Americans. They call us domestic terrorists. The money should come out of the FBI budget, NOT the taxpayers.

Well if the FBI is paying for their mistakes and failures they might want to send a few million to the family of the late John F. Kennedy.

Now let’s compensate President Trump, General Flynn, Carter Page, and many others. But Hillary Clinton, Comey (the worm), Mueller (Mr. Magoo), Wray, Christopher Steele, McCabe, Strozk and his ugly Ho, and the entire collaborating main stream media should be among many others who should pay and then serve time in prison for treason,

But have they changed anything, procedurally? Have the individuals who made those decisions been outed? Punished?
Or did the taxpayers just shell out over $127 million to make it go away?

Feds don't mind paying penalties with our tax dollars because the Biden regime can always print more.

The FBI has an 800 number for tips, and when there is a specific crime, they set up another toll free number.
The problem, as explained to me by an FBI agent, is that there are thousands of crank calls, so the FBI uses a special computer program with algorithms to sort out the crank calls. And mistakes are made.
In addition, I don't believe the people working at the call center are FBI agents.
Wray could do something about this, but he seems to be more interested in school board meetings.

The FBI has the same cushion as weather prediction people. Sometimes you get it right but if you don't, oh well. The paycheck still comes at the end of the month.
"The money should come out of the FBI budget, NOT the taxpayers." Same-same.

Gov agencies never lose money in a judgement payout. Congress will fill the gap with more of our tax money.

This is neat. The Eff B I was so busy undermining the nation that they blew off some really good "see something, say something," and the taxpayers again get to pick up the tab. Bet not one person was fired for this, either.
