Germany is considering reopening some of its decommissioned coal power plants in the hopes of getting a handle on its ongoing energy crisis. The reopening of shuttered plants is seen as an option as the country struggles to ween itself off of its addiction to Russian fossil fuels. While authorities have already rejected plans of delaying the decommissioning of the remainder of its nuclear power stations, a new plan involving either delaying the shut down of coal fire plants that are still in operation, or the re-opening of plants that have previously been terminated, is now on the cards.

will our electorate and "leadership" learn anything from Germany, Australia, UK energy choices? I doubt it.

“It’s not a backwards roll, but at most a step aside for a limited time,” the energy Tsar said. The Tsar pirouettes! Germans need to get a set of stones between their legs. The Greens are destroying that country. IF they really believe the climate change hoax, they will need to increase nuclear energy production. I hate to say it, but for once France has the right idea.

The Green fanatics are so stuck on their climate change agenda that they would rather people have no heat or electricity rather than restart decommissioned nuclear power plants (which are safe) or use other safe, clean means of producing more energy. When people get cold enough, maybe someone should call for new elections and remove the greenies from their government and elect people who actually care more about their citizens than some imagined theory of climate change. Anyway, if there really is climate change and the world is getting warmer, they will need less energy to heat their houses!

So we are going to "go green". Ruin our economy and businesses to "save the planet" while Russia, China and India are burning fossil fuels at alarming rates and have no plan to stop for the sake of "the planet". Exactly how is destroying ourselves save the planet this way? We plunge ourselves into darkness while the rest of "the planet" keeps using fossil fuels. As my father used to say, "How dumb can you be"? Of course he never came across the biden admin.

Politicians. Yeesh. You dont just "reopen" a decommissioned plant. Equipment deteriorates if it is not constantly used and maintained. Pump seals fail, pipes rust, boiler tubes rust, safety valves fuse shut, nozzles clog, sensors and transmitters lose their calibration, springs weaken. Just letting something go for more than a month or so can wreck it. They might be better off just gutting the place and start over.

Nothing like frozen rear ends to bring people (or at least some people) to their senses.

We should be doing the same thing here, and opening up our oil resources too.

Let ‘em freeze this winter. I hate it for the sane and responsible Germans but their voters accepted this green foolishness. Maybe when they are huddled around a wood stove in January, 2023, enough will wake up to change things.

Probably easier than re opening the Nuke plants...
But, open the nuclear power plants.
