Former President Donald Trump is effectively ruling out tapping former Vice President Mike Pence as his running mate should he mount a third White House bid in 2024 and win the Republican nomination.
“I don’t think the people would accept it,” Trump told the Washington Examiner Tuesday evening during a wide-ranging telephone interview from Mar-a-Lago, his private social club and political headquarters in Palm Beach, Florida.
The former president cited friction stemming from the aftermath of the 2020 election, suggesting their differences are too stark to overcome. Trump claimed the contest was stolen and wanted Pence to overturn the results during the congressional certification of President Joe Biden’s Electoral College victory.

As I and others warned in 2012: what Pence did to Ted Cruz in 2012, he will do to Donald Trump.
It's a matter of character.

Pence was never a partner. Self-serving to the max. And Karen is another Jill Biden. Neither good enough for #1, both unhappy in the #2 spot.

I often wondered why Trump picked this scoundrel... I mean for a measly 11 electoral votes? (and a stab in the back)

False narrative. He wasn't asked to over-turn the election. Had to do with the slates of electors from several states and returning them to the states to be reconsidered or ignored due to the massive fraud demonstrated on election night (as any auditor or former auditor worth their salt could see in the reporting of the numbers and the incredible jump in Bidens numbers after the counting had supposedly 'stopped' for the night- after all, the election wasn't 'over', until the elector's votes were counted and certified, now was it?

It was over when Mike stabbed Trump in the back during the certification of the electors. Retire early Mike. Get with John Boehner and buy a new golf cart with custom wheels and a stereo system, some nice Ping pro clubs, and an expensive putter. Get a few dozen Titleist balls, fill up the ice chest with some tequila and cold brewskis and play some beer golf. One shot and one beer per hole and see if you can keep up with Boehner. You can both bash him all day long and dream of actually playing golf with Trump which will never happen.

Thank you, #5. Pence was never asked to overturn anything. This is a false narrative meant to make President Trump look foolish.

I want Trump to stop living in the past. Let’s look forward and get rid of Brandon and his flying monkeys.

He should have dumped Pence in 2020. The guy really didn’t bring anything to the ticket.
If I were Trump I’d pull a Reagan 1976 and name a VP before the convention.

DeSantis would make a WONDERFUL running mate, and would be President in 2029-2037

With so many questions about ballot chain of custody, ballots that were obvious copies of the same ballot, and officials deliberately "pretending" to end counting votes until they got rid of citizen participants they didn't want watching them, Americans had good reason to be suspicious of the 2020 election.
In the context of Democrats pushing the Russia nonsense for four years in an effort to undo the 2016 election, it's hard to believe that a president has no right to ask states with massive irregularities to take another look at their slate of electors. The American people deserved better from VP Pence. The rush to certify the election facilitated the installation of the worst president in American history, and not a day has gone by since when Americans haven't suffered from Biden's incompetence.

The job of the VP, besides attending state funerals and being "a hearbeat away" from the Presidency is having the faith and confidence of the President that he or she serves. Mike Pence was in an impossible situation at the time of the certification of electors. If at least one court or state legislature had stepped up and did its job about the election fraud that occurred in 2020, perhaps Mike Pence could have done something that day. So, in my book, he gets a pass.
That being said, I don't believe President Trump has the faith and confidence in Mike Pence as he did from 2016 to 2020. That means, if Pres Trump decides to run again and is nominated, he probably would be well to choose another running mate. Dr Carson sounds like a good choice. DeSantis isn't, because both he and Trump are Florida residents and Constitutionally, electors can not vote for a President and Vice President from the same state.
But Pres Trump does need to change the focus away from the stolen election in 2020 to what Brandon and his cronies have done to put our country and our world in peril in one short year and change. We need to stop the bleeding in this mid-term election and cauterize the wound in 2024. Lord knows what a mess we'll have then (and by the way, as bravely as the Ukranians are fighting, that's nothing to what you will see the Tawainese do if the Chinese try to invade).
Pres Trump needs to tell us how he -- and we -- will Make America Great Again. Again.

If anyone finds this breaking news, well bless their heart.
My theory: the deep state foisted Pence on Trump in exchange for their support.
There was a fox in the hen house the entire time.

Trump was NOT asking to overturn the election! Why has that set in as the truth? No one has ever looked at exactly what and why President Trump was asking to look at the results in those important states.
Also, Trump shouldn’t just move on from this! This story is the most important story of all and it happened blatantly right under our noses. The election was stolen in many ways and by both national and local media and people working collectively to stuff boxes, rig voting machines, nursing homes, spread lies, build Biden up, ballot harvesting, Zuckerbucks, etc. why couldn’t any of this be addressed? The early call in Arizona. The ballots being brought out in the middle of the night? Ruby and her mother on camera pulling out boxes of votes from under a table in Atlanta?
Trump was not trying to overturn the election. Pence should have supported the timeframe asked for to answer the questions Trump, and many others were asking for about the votes.

If he runs, Trump would do well to get Cruz as his running mate but I'd rather see Cruz as the senate majority leader.
