“She ignored crime victims”: Oregon

MARION COUNTY, OR- Law Enforcement Today has reported several times on Oregon Gov. Kate Brown’s mass release of prisoners ostensibly due to “COVID.” Now, a judge has ordered a pause on Brown’s early release of prisoners, as reported in the Epoch Times. The new order refers to prisoners who committed crimes as juveniles, which grants part of the relief sought in a lawsuit filed against Brown by two district attorneys and four members of homicide victims. Since March 1, 2020, Brown has granted early release to nearly 1,200 convicted felons, including 10 convicted murderers. Marion County Circuit Court Judge David Leith ruled earlier this month that Brown unlawfully conferred her clemency powers

Politicians who let dangerous criminals back on the street early should be denied tax supported security details.

They've been trying to do this in Washington state also. Two years ago, activist groups along with the ACLU went before our State Supreme Court to allow prisoners over the age of 55 to be released because of Covid. By a vote of 5 to 4 they were refused. So, by one vote the Green River Killer, Gary Ridgeway, a man convicted of murdering 49 women (but is believed to have killed 100 they just haven't found the bodies yet) was not released. Also to be released, a monster named David Rice Lewis, who on Christmas Eve 1985 invaded a home in Seattle and beat the family living there to death. The mom, dad and their two young sons. Now the legislature is thinking about releasing ALL prisoners who had originally been sentenced to death but had their sentences commuted to life in prison if they'e been there for over 20 years. So, if you live in a state where the ACLU or other groups are trying to do away with the death penalty by saying that life in prison is punishment enough, don't believe them.

Governor Dumbbunny is what I call her. First she drops all failing grade standards across the board for Oregon schools, now she wants to unleash a crime wave of probably epic proportions onto innocent citizens? Why isn't this woman being recalled? I don't believe we can survive the rest of her term. She is also the first bisexual governor Oregon has had as well. She is just the definition of incompetence. Good grief #3, I had no idea WA was trying this out as well. They have some awful monsters locked up in WA prisons right now. 20 years does not equate a life sentence. It barely meets the requirement for a decent prison sentence for some of the appalling acts these monsters do to innocent people. I remember when Life used to mean LIFE and you didn't get early release.

Far be it from me to pick on an elderly woman twice in one week, but Nancy Pelosi just won’t leave the world alone for that long. Worse, neither will U2 frontman Bono. “I got this message this morning from Bono,” Pelosi told the attendees of the White House’s annual Friends of Ireland luncheon. She said that Bono “has been a very Irish part of our lives,” whatever that means. Before we get to the meat of the matter, let me admit my cultural bias right up front: I don’t care much for U2. This makes me a bad child of the ’80s, I’m sure, but U2’s sound is not for me.

Until sanity is restored in our country, records will show that Lia Thomas was the winner of the 2022 women’s NCAA 500-yard freestyle event. However, we all know the story behind Thomas by now. Lia is not a woman, but a man identifying as a woman. Anyone interested in the sanctity of competition, biological integrity, and saving women’s sports, should celebrate Emma Weyant, the actual woman who won the 2022 women's NCAA 500-yard freestyle event on Thursday night. The records will show that Weyant finished in second place behind Thomas. But Weyant is the actual she who should be recognized as champion. Thomas’s victory represents everything that detractors feared

Writing in the Wall Street Journal, the Hudson Institute's Walter Russell Mead pronounces the Biden administration's great power diplomacy an unmitigated failure. Mead's criticism cannot be dismissed as a partisan attack — he is a member in good standing of the U.S. foreign policy establishment. Mead is also steeped in history and geopolitics — two subjects that appear to have eluded the stalwarts of President Biden's foreign policy team. "Most ... of the ideas Team Biden brought to the White House," Mead writes, "failed to work," and most of the changes that U.S. foreign policy will require today and in the immediate future "will be toxic to much

We may not have a lot of strength showing from the White House when it comes to dealing with Russia, but it looks like we have some in Alaska. Russian Duma member Oleg Matveychev, whom some have referred to as the Kremlin’s “spin doctor,” went on Russian state media and said they want reparations for the sanctions that the U.S. imposed upon them. Matveychev then said he wants “the return of all Russian properties, those of the Russian empire, the Soviet Union and current Russia, which has been seized in the United States, and so on.” As we noted earlier, that included Alaska and even Fort Ross, California,

Gretta Vedler, 23, went missing a year ago after her anti-Putin social media rant, but the two events do not appear to be connected. "Vedler's ex-boyfriend Dmitry Korovin, 23, has now confessed to strangling her to death before driving her 300 miles to the Lipetsk region and abandoning the body in the boot of a car.." the Daily Star reports. Korovin told authorities that he slept in a hotel room for three nights with her dead body, which was stuffed in a newly bought suitcase.

The country is in the very best of hands — Nancy Pelosi’s trembling hands at the command of what appears to be a cocktail-impaired brain. Trust me. I know the drinking signs. It’s my considered opinion that the San Francisco-based House Speaker is filled to the gills in the clip you’re about to witness. It’s bad enough when a Blue Enclave progressive tries to explain military and geopolitical events, like an internet rando on fentanyl trying to explain rocket science to Elon Musk. Nevertheless, Pelosi’s love for the camera, though unrequited, necessitates that she publicly pontificate whenever the red light comes on, even when her BA count is double the legal limit

The American dollar is currently the world's reserve currency, meaning it is the primary means of handling transactions between nations that have differing currencies. To qualify as a reserve currency, it must be stable and readily available, and it can be considered a safe-haven currency. In some ways, a reserve currency can become a self-fulfilling prophecy because its very status enhances its value. For Americans, that status helps prop up America's enormous debt load. That's why it was very disturbing to learn that Saudi Arabia, disgusted with the current management in Washington, D.C., is looking to start pricing

Saudi and Chinese officials are in talks to price some of the Gulf nation's oil sales in yuan rather than dollars or euros, The Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday, citing people familiar with the matter. The two nations have intermittently discussed the matter for six years, but talks have reportedly stepped up in 2022, with Riyadh disgruntled over the United States' nuclear negotiations with Iran and its lack of backing for Saudi Arabia's military operation in neighboring Yemen. Nearly 80 percent of global oil sales are priced in dollars, and since the mid-1970s the Saudis have exclusively used the dollar for oil trading as part of a security agreement

Considering what’s been happening in D.C. to people who, at most, trespassed, the whole Jussie saga has been disgusting and this is one more chapter to irritate or even enrage those who believe in the rule of law. However, much as I hate to say this, the appellate court that released him while his appeal is pending probably made the correct legal decision. (snip) Smollett’s attorneys had argued that he would have completed the jail sentence by the time the appeal process was completed

Food prices are already skyrocketing. Some — a lot — of this comes from inflation caused by runaway government spending over the past two years. Some is from supply-chain issues. But a new problem is rearing its head, and government officials seem as likely to make it worse as to make it better. That problem is shortages of food and fertilizer brought about by the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the sanctions enacted by the West in response. Ukraine is a major wheat producer, but war is likely to ensure a poor spring planting and harvest. Russia is also a major grower, but sanctions and war will prevent it from exporting to most
