We have been following the “Freedom Convoy” of Canadian truckers that rolled out of metro Vancouver earlier this week on a cross-country convoy in protest of Canada’s vaccine mandate for truck drivers.
The convoy is now being joined by American truckers.
The convoy assembled in British Columbia on Sunday, and will arrive in Ottawa by Saturday where they are expected to be joined by other protesters driving from the east and the south of the country. Truckers from the US have also joined the massive convoy.
By Friday morning, the drivers were in Kingston, Ontario, which is about 110 miles from the capital city. Several

A former Kansas woman and mother of five has been charged with joining ISIS and leading an all-female battalion of fighters in Syria, the Department of Justice announced Saturday.
Allison Fluke-Ekren, 42, allegedly trained her own children to use AK-47s and suicide belts, translated speeches made by ISIS leaders, and conspired to plan an attack on an American college campus, the DOJ said.
Fluke-Ekren was appointed in 2016 to lead the Khatiba Nusaybah, an all-female military unit of the Islamic State, in Raqqa, Syria, according to a criminal complaint filed in 2019 and unsealed Saturday.
In that role, she trained more than 100 women to fire assault rifles, throw grenades, drive explosives-laden vehicles,

Last summer I was notified of secret overnight flights coming into Westchester County Airport that were transporting thousands of illegal immigrants apprehended at the southern border. Having overseen the airport during my tenure as county executive, I knew that flights arriving after midnight are not allowed so I started asking questions publicly.
Who are on these planes? Have they been vetted and COVID tested? How many flights so far and how many more are scheduled? Where are these illegal immigrants being placed and who is paying for all this? Have background checks been done, especially on the adults?
What happened next was entirely predictable.

Florida weather forecasters are warning iguanas may be falling out of trees this weekend as the Sunshine State goes through a cold snap.
Temperatures in the usually balmy state are expected to plunge this weekend, hitting below freezing in some areas, meaning the cold-blooded lizards raining down to the ground.
“They slow down or become immobile when it’s below 40,” WFTV meteorologist Brian Shields posted on Twitter. “They may fall from trees, but they aren’t dead.”
The phenomenon isn’t uncommon when frigid weather hits Florida. In 2020, the National Weather Service Miami-South Florida issued a warning ahead of a deep chill.

Thousands packed the Montgomery County Fairgrounds hours before the doors opened for former President Donald Trump’s first Texas MAGA rally since 2019.Nearly everyone was waiting in line for something: Fried food, Trump merchandise, bathrooms or the security line to get in. The masses sporadically broke out in whoops or “Let’s go Brandon” chants. The line of cars waiting to turn into the lot stretched nearly a mile. The outfits would have looked at home at a large music festival. People wore bright colors such as American flag jumpsuits and neon cowboy hats. The crowd is mostly but not exclusively white, made up of people of all ages. Whole families walked together, hand-in-hand.

The people in contemporary America who most pride themselves on their alleged commitment to science and public health are also the most superstitious and immune to evidence. Nowhere is this more obvious than in the debate over masking kids at school — an ongoing, flagrant example of collective irrationality.
The supporters of mask mandates are fired by a righteous certainty that if a child comes to school unmasked, his or her school and community are at risk of a devastating outbreak of COVID; that parents who don’t want to mask their kids are selfish and uncaring boobs who need to turn off Fox News; that public officials who block mask mandates,

A Canadian province issued a directive on Saturday making some support of the massive truckers “Freedom Convoy” a crime that can award the non-compliant a hefty fine.
Although the Nova Scotia province’s press release about the new directive attempts to characterize it as a simple ban on “highway border blockades,” the order specifically seeks to limit “participating in, financing, organizing, aiding, encouraging, or supporting” the anti-vaccine mandate convoy.
As worded, it could potentially make it illegal for the area’s protestors to even donate to the Freedom Convoy 2022 fund that has already raised over $8 million Canadian dollars to help the truckers with the cost of fuel, food, and lodging

Over the course of history, societies have chosen different forms of moral currency. In Rome, your virtue was determined by your nobility of ancestry and comportment. Health officials in Sweden have decided against recommending COVID vaccines for kids aged 5-12, arguing that the benefits don’t outweigh the risks.

Gov Winsome Sears (R) said that “we have woke people letting the criminals out” but those criminals don’t end up going to the neighborhoods that woke people live in because the woke crowd lives in nice areas and can afford private security, and urged the woke people to actually help those that they “claim to help and to love more than anybody else.”
Sears said, “[B]y the way, when the criminals are let free, they go right back into that community.

Neil Young (76), better known as “and Young,” was the first. A few days later, there were rumors that Barry Manilow (78) followed, but he appeared to deny them via Twitter on Friday afternoon. The same day, before the Denny’s early bird special expired, Peter Frampton (71) appears to have joined “and Young’s” tenuous movement. Let’s call it, “Boomers for Censorship.”
If you’re not aware, earlier this week, “and Young” threatened to remove his music catalogue from Spotify if the corporate media behemoth did not remove the “Joe Rogan Experience” podcast from its platform.

A Joe Biden voter explained why he became "disgusted" with the president's administration and raised concerns about the direction the Democratic Party is headed.
"A year in and I'm disgusted with them both. I'm disgusted with [Vice President] Kamala Harris and Joe Biden," Isaiah Carter, a New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) worker and member of the Democratic Party, told Fox News.
Carter listed critical race theory and the Afghanistan withdrawal as key issues he has with Biden. He also faulted the president's COVID-19 policies and his propagating of gender ideology issues, especially among school-age children, by the administration. Carter has voted Democrat in the past four presidential elections

Let’s get something straight: there was absolutely nothing racist or sexist about a pair of tweets by Ilya Shapiro last week criticizing President Biden for his blatantly racist and sexist decision to consider only black women for nomination to the U.S. Supreme Court. Every single person who saw them knows that — especially the people who immediately tried to get Shapiro fired for it.
That’s really what this is all about. The feigned outrage over Shapiro’s tweets is nothing more than a pretext for trying to get him run out of his new job at Georgetown Law School,

Opposing mask mandates in schools has quickly become the new hot take of the week in America’s leading legacy newsrooms.
The New York Times, The Washington Post, NPR and The Atlantic all ran pieces this week arguing that mask mandates for schoolchildren are unnecessary, harmful, or both. NPR’s piece was more of the reporting variety, while the others were strictly opinion, but all of them shared a common thread: newly advocating for a position that some, particularly conservatives, have been calling for for months and years. On Monday, the Washington Post published an op-ed from three medical experts calling to end mask mandates in schools. The Atlantic joined in on Tuesday.

At a critical point in the 1980 campaign, Ronald Reagan had enough and cleaned house of his senior political advisors including campaign manager John Sears. One staffer would later recall, “Ronald Reagan would not have come so close in 1976 had he not hired John Sears; and Ronald Reagan would not have won the GOP nomination had he not fired John Sears in 1980.”
As it does on so many occasions, history repeats itself. Like Reagan before him, Donald Trump now must clean house if he hopes to make a serious political comeback.
Trump’s 2016 win was mostly of his own doing. Being the outsider candidate that he was,

One of my colleagues has been combating LGBTQ extremism for several decades, working tirelessly for almost no money, and with constant vilification as his main reward. I asked him one day on the air, “Why don’t you just stop?” He answered, “I’ll stop when they stop.”
That is exactly how I feel.
When I no longer have to read headlines like this, I’ll stop: “‘We’re uncomfortable in our own locker room.’ Lia Thomas’ UPenn [female] teammate tells how the trans swimmer doesn’t always cover up her male genitals when changing and their concerns go ignored by their coach.”
Seriously? Her male genitals? What kind of madness is this?

On Friday morning, crowds gathered outside St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City to pay their last respects to NYPD officer Jason Rivera. [Video]
It was only last Friday night that the 22-year-old, newlywed Rivera and his partner Wilbert Mora, 27, entered a Harlem apartment building in response to a call of a domestic disturbance by a mother in conflict with her adult son. When Rivera and Mora arrived at the scene, they were confronted by 47-year-old career felon LaShawn McNeil, who seemed to have been spoiling for a fight. Rivera died at the scene. Mora survived on life-support until Tuesday.

Americans want an autonomous Ukraine to survive. They hope the West can stop Russian President Vladimir Putin’s strangulation of both Ukraine and NATO.
Yet Americans do not want their troops to venture across the world to Europe’s backyard to fight nuclear Russia to ensure that Ukraine stays independent.
Most Americans oppose the notion that Russia can simply dictate the future of Ukraine.
Yet Americans also grudgingly accept that Ukraine was often historically part of Russia. During World War II, it was the bloody scene of joint Russian-Ukrainian sacrifices—more than 5 million killed—to defeat the Nazi German invasion.

As I reported Thursday night, there were a lot of questions raised on Thursday about the call that Joe Biden had with Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky. CNN reported that it did not go well and that Biden told Zelensky to brace for impact, the Russian invasion was coming, and that Kyiv might be “sacked.”
I posted this video in my story. [Video]
But then, the White House and Ukraine denied that that call had gone badly and that Biden said “sacked.” As I noted, the problem was that both the White House and Ukraine have cause to not say if the call didn’t go well

Jonathan Jackson, son of the Rev. Jesse Jackson, on Friday afternoon announced a run for the seat being vacated by Rep. Bobby Rush, becoming at least the 13th candidate so far in the Democratic primary in the 1st Congressional District.
Jackson launches his congressional bid with a running start provided by his father, a civil rights leader, two-time presidential candidate and founder of Rainbow PUSH Coalition. The younger Jackson is familiar with his father’s extensive national fundraising and political network.

One of the main tenants for a stable and law-abiding society is a judicial system that enforces laws and ensures equal justice for all.The reverse is true in progressive cities, resulting in an increase in crime. Various government organizations, even all the way up to the Department of Justice, have gone astray. Social justice warriors are now in positions in the DOJ to implement “racial justice”, which determines how to prosecute cases based on the race and/or social justice cause, not commensurate with the crimes committed.A perfect example can be seen in a murder committed by a BLM arsonist.

The death of an 85-year-old man who reportedly succumbed to hypothermia after falling and spending nine hours sprawled and ignored on a bitterly cold street in central Paris has prompted grief, anger and incredulity in France and beyond. René Robert, a Swiss photographer known for his shots of some of Spain’s most famous flamenco stars, died last week after slipping while on one of his nightly walks around the busy Paris neighbourhood where he lived.(Snip)The death, which occurred in an area of Paris where many homeless people sleep rough, has sparked a debate about civic responsibility and basic human decency.

President Eisenhower in his final address to the nation issued the following dire warning: In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists, and will persist. (Video) Eisenhower's words have proven to be prophetic. The military-industrial complex appears to be a major power broker in Washington. All but one of the recent presidents, including the Bushes, Bill Clinton, and Barack Obama, have entered into optional conflicts and prolonged existing conflicts, despite the fact that the U.S. has little to gain from them.

Kid Rock, the country-rock singer that became one of President Trump’s most valiant high-profile supporters, just dropped the hammer on Fauci, dedicating an entire song to tearing the short, wizened, raspy-voiced tyrant to pieces. Given that it’s released by such a huge name, a highly-popular figure, it’s hilarious that it was even released, and doubly funny that it’s become so popular so quickly.Yet better (and you’ll rarely hear me praise vulgarity), it’s completely profane, with some describing it as an “f-bomb” nightmare. Now, normally I’d be against that, as I think being well-spoken is far more efficacious, normally, than bitter vulgarity.

Georgia’s elections controversy is being taken to new levels with the revelation that a 25,000-word “secret report” on its voting systems vulnerabilities may soon be released. The security flaws in Georgia’s election system was uncovered by a professor who specializes in election integrity. A judge may soon make the findings public.“The vulnerability was first alleged in sealed court documents in July by Alex Halderman, a computer science professor at the University of Michigan,” the Atlanta Journal Constitution reported. “As an expert for plaintiffs in the election security lawsuit, Halderman gained access to Georgia voting equipment for 12 weeks and produced a 25,000-word secret report.”

Rep. Greg Murphy (R-NC) told Breitbart News on Friday that the GOP Doctors Caucus is “infuriated” that the Biden administration and Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and the president’s top medical adviser, have “been all about vaccination” and not therapeutics in their response to the coronavirus outbreak.“We’re not going to vaccinate our way out of it,” Murphy, a urologist, said on SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Daily with host Alex Marlow. He said, “I’m a vice chair of the GOP Doctors Caucus. We are infuriated — infuriated — that this has all been about vaccination. Fauci has been, ‘Vaccination, vaccination, vaccination,’ rather than therapeutics.”

NYPD Detective Jason Rivera’s funeral was held on Friday at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City. Rivera and his partner Officer Wilbert Mora were shot to death when they responded to a domestic violence call on January 21. A sea of blue came out for Rivera, even as it snowed. Rivera was promoted to detective posthumously, and his widow eulogized him in a moving tribute during which she also attacked the Manhattan D.A. for his lax approach to prosecuting crimes, leaving people unsafe.
Both officers were just 22 years old. Rivera’s wife, Dominique Luzuriaga, struggled as she recalled that in their last conversation,

Earlier this week the Supreme Court took up affirmative action by agreeing to hear challenges to the admissions process at two US universities. Today, NY Times‘ columnist John McWhorter has a piece arguing that it’s time to end affirmative action, though he still favors programs that give preference to students based on income.
When affirmative action was put into practice around a half-century ago, with legalized segregation so recent, it was reasonable to think of being Black as a shorthand for being disadvantaged, whatever a Black person’s socioeconomic status was. In 1960, around half of Black people were poor.

oe Biden doesn’t seem to know how to deal with the situation between Russia and Ukraine.
Indeed, everything he does just seems to heighten the tension and move the dial more toward war between them.
He threw Ukraine under the bus early on, by waiving sanctions on the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, which helped Russia, increased EU dependence on Russian oil, and hurt the United States and Ukraine.
Then Biden seemed to greenlight aggression with careless words, by saying U.S. troops would be off the table in December and then talking about “minor incursions” not causing a significant response in January, then having to scramble to clean that up.
