New Yorkers have plenty of reservations—about going out to eat.
Table bookings in Manhattan restaurants are down 64% in January 2022 compared to pre-pandemic January 2020–only San Francisco (-66%) and Cambridge, Mass. (-75%) have fared worse, according to new data released by OpenTable and crunched by celebrity statistician Nate Silver of FiveThirtyEight.com. Brooklyn boites are starved for diners, too, with reservations down 55%. Data for the other boroughs were not available. “It’s a ghost town out there,” one Little Italy restaurant manager told The Post, citing the failure of city officials to contain crime and chaos, which drives away both tourists and local diners.

The root cause of crime and CCP virus panic is the politicians. To correct the problem, start with the politicians.

You demand, politically, that everyone be masked and vaccinated, and call the police and have your customers arrested if they aren't, unless they're an elite. Then you cry when you have no business. And you keep electing the same type of politicians. That’s a special kind of stupid. Elections have consequences! But at least, no mean tweets, at least not being reported.

Duh! I don’t have official statistics, but here in the Boise area restaurants seem pretty well packed, especially on weekends.

To al, of the good people of NY that love freedom but are trapped in an enemy state, I wish you well. To the satanic evil that rules NY, may you reap what you have sown.

Well, isn’t that interesting?
We live in Florida and haven’t been going out lately because the restaurants are ... too crowded.
Ironically, they’re filled with snowbirds who’ve invaded from New York.

Restaurants can say they died from the shots and mask mandates to add to it the cost is too much to risk your life to go out to eat. Shopping for bread and meat at the corner store is now too dangerous. Thank a New York City politician and the DA for your problems that you voted for. No tears from me.

Too many of these high profile restaurants supported the vax to dine mandate, and deserve exactly what they get, especially Danny Meyer's restaurants. I live in the area, and people stay in NJ or on LI, and don't need to swim in open sewers.
NYC is a ghost town...yet rents and condo prices continue to go up, delusionally.
Yesterday's funeral of Officer Rivera I pray marks a turning point. His widow and brother, in front of thousands of NYPD and brother/sister officers, called out both the mayor and DA. It'll be repeated next week with the second funeral.

And for those who live out there and say that NY deserves what it gets...trust me, if it happens there, it's heading to you. That is why NYC, CHI, SF and all the blue areas matter. And if you want to write off the thousands in blue, those who flew flags out of their window and observed moments of silence, your contempt does nothing for our morale or help us change it.

Restaurants are starving for customers, but the MSM is throwing a hissy fit because Sarah Palin is allowed to enter restaurants to eat because she's not vaccinated.

They still don't get it. When are these poor people going to wake up. Every democratic city has the same problem. They keep electing the same sick communist politicians. They just elected another democrat as mayor in NYC didn't they. How many cops have been shot already in NYC. Its disgraceful, its pathetic. Do those thugs seem afraid of the new mayor. Until those thugs see some consequences to their actions nothing will change. Got it.

LOL! This is the inevitable outcome of Dempanic rules.
I ate at a favorite restaurant last night with two friends. The place was packed, we took the last couple of parking places and had to wait a bit for a table. Some of the staff was wearing masks, apparently mandated by the main office, since it is a many state chain of restaurants. Very few patrons had masks.
NYC creates it's own problems. NYC IS a problem.

Within the last week, some European countries have scrapped all Covid mandates due to their people rising up in the streets.
Until we Americans, in the blue cities do the same, nothing will change.
I live in a red county within a blue state & we’ve been back to normal for well over a year now. Some places have posted mask requirements, but we just don’t wear them. Our county commissioners said from the very beginning that they would not enforce the mandates.
For those private businesses that require them, we don’t give them our business.

I live in NE FL. We have been back to normal for more than a year. Restaurants are full, bars and shopping centers are open for business and while some people insist on wearing masks while they are out and about, most do not. And NO ONE asks about clot shot status either!!
Here's hoping those patriots trapped by circumstances in blue states and cities will find their freedoms restored before much longer.

Why are there less customers, let me count the ways.
1. Mask mandate
2. Vaccine mandate
3. Rising crime.
4. Dems rarely pick up the tab.

Uncontrolled mayhem, sure, but the requirement that everyone, even young children, must be vaccinated has killed their businesses, in part by destroying the tourist trade. Don't they deserve more federal bailouts?
