At a critical point in the 1980 campaign, Ronald Reagan had enough and cleaned house of his senior political advisors including campaign manager John Sears. One staffer would later recall, “Ronald Reagan would not have come so close in 1976 had he not hired John Sears; and Ronald Reagan would not have won the GOP nomination had he not fired John Sears in 1980.”
As it does on so many occasions, history repeats itself. Like Reagan before him, Donald Trump now must clean house if he hopes to make a serious political comeback.
Trump’s 2016 win was mostly of his own doing. Being the outsider candidate that he was,

There were many reasons why President Trump is not sitting in the Whitehouse today and none have to do with advisors. Shirley and his ilk will go to their rewards salivating over the system they created. A system that believes high paid advisors rule. Trump proved that to be garbage. President Trump is and will always be his own advisor. The one WE know and trust. Shirley is on record as ridiculing the Presidents life line to us, his tweeting, calling it infantile. Go back to writing books about your betters Mr. Shirley. Men that get thing done . We and President Trump will be just fine without your advise.

Trump for some reason picked the wrong people to advise him in the Whitehouse. He also kept every SES in the DOJ and all other agencies. The very SES that were appointed by Obama. Bad move President Trump. You took the advise from Priebus, you chief of staff that encouraged you to keep the establishment. Then you kept Milley and put Mattis and then Esper as Sec of DOD, both turned on you. I could go on and on.

As long as Javanka is part of that housecleaning, I am in semi agreement with this writer. Trump needs to get rid of a lot of detritus, because many of us could see them leading him astray. He also needs to stop with the cabinet picks like Betsy DeVos who went out of her way to not do the job of getting rid of the DoE like Trump wanted.

He can start with a firm base of Ric Grennell, Stephen Miller, Newt, and Devin Nunes.
Anyone else is suspect, including ANY senator or representative, and especially Javanka.

This was President Trump's Achille's heel his first go 'round. He, to be honest, was too nice and trusting. He should have (and should) clean house day one and bring in his people and if he doesn't have them, bring competent people in from Red States already in similar roles.

Trump was not well served by some of the advisors in his early days of his administration. Trump won't make that mistake again. What Trump must do is fire at least 50% of the federal workers in D.C. Mostly those in the higher positions. This anti-American anti-Constitution attitude and mind set needs to go, and fast.

FTA - "His loss in 2020 was mostly the doing of bad consultants and advisors."
Uh, Shirley, I would point you to massive corruption and abuses of power within the msm, federal government agencies, the deep state, the SCOTUS and, in particular, the Great Election Fraud of 2020 as the chief reasons why Trump doesn't sit at the Resolute Desk today. As regards the Great Election Fraud of 2020, Turtle, CJ Roberts, and the Penster hold ultimate responsibility for not challenging the fraud that took place.

Shirley you jest. Anyone who accepts Biden’s “win” as legitimate and due to some failing of Trump’s advisors has zero credibility with me.

"Personnel is everything", Mitch McConnell. Trump did not have knowledge of all personnel his first term. Now he has a pretty good idea. Please vet them more closely, and fire them, if they are not supporting the MAGA agenda. Ignore the Democrat lawfare group that will file lawsuits, and begin super investigations, in order to remove you from office. Remove them and their supporters from office. They will get the message. Yes, fire them, and let the NYTs and WaPo and CNN through their fits. Maybe they will choke and strangle themselves, while we Republicans are stoical about such a sight.

Mr. Shirley, shirley you jest! Appeals court rules Pennsylvania's mail in voting law is UNCONSTITUTIONAL. That means sir, that 2.6 MILLION votes counted in the 2020 election are unconstitutional. Do you need someone to explain that to you. Wisconsin, has found 570,000 illegal votes. In other words, sir, the votes are fraudulent. And that sir, is just the beginning. Check out Az. Check out Michigan. PRESIDENT Trump, along with the American voters, were swindled. Another word is "cheated" By the grace of God, PRESIDENT Trump is elected again, he sure won't make the same mistakes. I will vote for PRESIDENT Trump just to watch him clean up. America government needs that. This is why the cheat was in. Most of the people in government now a days, are nothing but crooks.

The first move by Clinton was to fire "all the lawyers" from the previous admin.
That requires some consideration.

There is nothing wrong in listening to everyone. You should be wise enough to only act on the right advice. That is where PDT's inexperience hurt him in the early stages. I believe he is a lot smarter now.

Trump's biggest mistake was to repeat W's biggest mistake - they both failed to get rid of everyone from previous administrations, they failed to get rid of Washington careerists, they failed to get rid of every appointed position, they failed to get rid of backstabbers & leakers. If the government has to shut down until some decent trustworthy people can be found, so be it.

PDT hasn't a clue about hiring political advisors. Proof? Sessions, Mad Dog, T-Rex, 'Stache, Seb, Flynn...toss in Pence if you like, and there are others, like FBI Director Wray. He endorsed Mitt and Lindsay. And he has suffered at the hands of each one and others.
He can clear the MAGA bench and do what? Hire Gutfeld? Bring The Five to help? He has a penchant for Fox News Contributors. The GOPe will be happy to lend him a few UNIPARTY guys and gals...real smart, too.

President Trump won on the perfect storm for an outsider the article mentions it all. In all of this Donald Trump made two mistakes in four years. 1) He and his wife entered Washington believing there were some good people there, wrong. There were no 'good' media outlets, included. 2) President in his waning days after the election steal should never have had that 1-6 rally anywhere close to or in Washington within walking distance of the Capitol it built the lie the democrats use against him today.
On a different note today, the landscape has changed. President Trump's supporters along with him are much wiser and astute to the actions of the enemy. If President Trump does run with his record of success, loses of RINOs in midterms along with surviving Biden's onslaught President Trump has a great chance to win we all know it. Mean tweets are his friend.

If he starts to fire people, he needs to realize, unlike Hannity, that the rot goes deeper than the top 1%.

My only hesitation in voting for Trump was/will be his dismal record of personnel issues. I don't even need to give examples--his admin was rife with snakes in the grass. And unlike other presidents in his situation, he left the bureaucracy in place! If you want to "drain the swamp" a lot of heads have to roll--especially after 8 years of 0bama! Trump did none of that--and I don't hear him saying he learned his lesson and plans to make changes next time. A Trump/De Santis ticket, with a zeal to clean house, would get may heart thumping.

Just food for thought: I supported Ronald Reagan not because I thought he was an awesome person or that he was the 60s equivalent of a social media icon. I supported Reagan because of his ability to articulate conservative principles and his demonstrated ability to govern by them. Like Ronald Reagan, Donald Trump was once a democrat; however, unlike Reagan, Trump was still claiming ideological compatibility with democrats at age 62 (2009), during Obama's first destructive term. Populism is not the same as conservatism, although it can appear so to a target audience that is ideologically conservative and the message is skillfully packaged and delivered by a charismatic. "Cleaning house" with regard to political advisory personnel is meaningless if one lacks firm ideological grounding and/or if one tends to avoid making reasoned course corrections due to the fear of admitting you made a mistake and that your choices are not always 'beautiful and perfect.'

The President entered the WH with the reasonable expectation that the bureaucracy, whether personally Demorat or Republican, was first and foremost American in spirit and thought. Did anyone really know how deep the rot went? Next up, he seemed to consult former Republicans who had served in executive positions for referrals of suitable appointees, and what a disaster that was. Did anyone really know how deep the rot went? He also surely had the reasonable expectation that Republicans serving in the House and Senate were first and foremost American and Republican in spirit and thought. Did anyone really know how deep the rot went? Finally, he also had the reasonable expectation that the large drug companies were loyal to America and professional and responsible and would not turn out questionable products that seem to further ChiComm, not American goals.
Even if The President had done nothing else in his term, showing how rotten the edifice of Washington DC is, is of major historical value.

" . . . looking to the future and how he can win there rather than harebrained schemes to overturn Joe Biden’s win that are likely doomed to failure."
These voter fraud investigations (which Democrats are trying to quash) are not about trying to overturn Biden's supposed "win" - they are about proving the extent on the massive voter fraud in Arizona, Nevada, Georgia, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania, all of which Trump would have won absent such fraud.
