Opposing mask mandates in schools has quickly become the new hot take of the week in America’s leading legacy newsrooms.
The New York Times, The Washington Post, NPR and The Atlantic all ran pieces this week arguing that mask mandates for schoolchildren are unnecessary, harmful, or both. NPR’s piece was more of the reporting variety, while the others were strictly opinion, but all of them shared a common thread: newly advocating for a position that some, particularly conservatives, have been calling for for months and years. On Monday, the Washington Post published an op-ed from three medical experts calling to end mask mandates in schools. The Atlantic joined in on Tuesday.

Add in left wing ABC news. They had a report in their radio news feed on Thursday about how infants and toddlers were developing delayed speech issues because learning to speak relies heavily on seeing other people’s lips move. It also relies on facial expressions. We don’t even realize we’re doing it, but all of us lip read to some extent and we also read facial expressions in order to understand what others are saying. When we have trouble understanding someone who is wearing a mask, it’s not solely because their voice is muffled by the mask.
When Fauxci announced that people should wear masks inside their own homes, the Covid Karen parents obeyed and now their kids can’t speak - delayed speech issues are up 350%. The idiot parents are handicapping their own kids over a cold virus.

Something is going on - Colorado is dropping vaccine requirements for large venues, and is likely to let mask requirement expire next week.
The polls must have scared them.

This is purely political in my opinion. I have been to many indoor and outdoor sporting events over this fall and winter. Signs on the outside of arenas say, “Masks Required.” People initially obey and wear masks while they stand in line and show their tickets. I would estimate that 90% merely remove their masks once they enter the facility. Then, there are multiple reminders during the event coming over loud speakers that people simply ignore.
Masking and especially mask mandates are becoming extremely unpopular with the majority of Americans. The change of heart from the main stream media is merely their effort to advise liberals and democrats that they are losing control with their heavy-handed governorship.

#5, Governor Polis, early on, made more sense than anyone, when discussing children and school.
Polis, who has expertise in early childhood education, said that children have strong immune systems, and exposure to Kung Flu is not a big deal - that schools should not be shut down. And children will ind up stronger for it.
Unfortunately, he was shouted down by CDC maniacs., including Little Anthony the Imperious.
Remember Little Anthony on masking?
First, he said masks don't work.
Then he said he fibbed about that, because he wanted medical personnel to have the masks.
Then he said to double mask. That lasted about a week, then dropped. Remember Dementia Jo's double masking?
And he said, for holiday parties, mask indoors.
Why anyone believes anything said by the Eytalian buffoon is a mystery to me. Yogi Berra made more sense.

#2, I heard the same thing, and it's a shame.
Sadly, people won't believe it, since they've now been conditioned to wait for the official message from the official source of information on what to do, and how to proceed.
As far as why this is happening now, it's likely they realize people are fed up, and it's only going to make things much worse in November.

Masks never have worked for anything but political theater.
I am saddened by how many folks are back wearing them, still imagining that they have some magical power, when they do not. But, I'll settle for them not insisting that I wear one, because I will NOT.

it is equivalent to the NYT or WaPo posting a retraction or correction on the back page of the classified ads. The misinformation reaches millions while few ever see the correction.

Like civil rights and racism, liberals will one day assume the mantle of anti-mask, anti-vax proponents, when it becomes politically expedient, and the pro-mask, pro-vax hysteria will be laid on the shoulders of conservatives!

Because their position is both idiotic and unsustainable. Parents have had enough. And if the MSM is coming around, so will the Dems before too long.
