Harris County, Texas—A father shot a man who he claimed was looking into his child's window in northwest Harris County late Sunday night. According to Harris County sheriff's deputies, a husband and wife confronted an intoxicated man inappropriately touching himself outside their young daughter's window around 10 p.m. Sunday. The little girl reportedly screamed when she saw the man, and her parents came running. The parents, both armed with handguns, went outside and attempted to detain the man, according to deputies.(Snip) According to the father, both he and the mother demanded the alleged peeping Tom lie down in the yard and wait for police to arrive.

Tucker Carlson has revealed that a whistleblower told his show that the National Security Agency is spying on him and plotting to leak information in an effort to have him pulled off the air.
Carlson announced the shocking news on Monday evening’s episode of Tucker Carlson Tonight.
“The NSA is monitoring our electronic communications and is planning to leak them in an attempt to take this show off air,” Carlson said, admitting that it is a shocking claim and normally he would be skeptical of it, as it is illegal for the NSA to spy on American citizens.

Donald Trump won't be personally charged in the Manhattan district attorney's case against the former president's business organization when the first indictment comes down, his attorney claimed. Trump, in a lengthy and rambling statement issued on Monday, called the DA's investigation 'a continuation of the greatest Witch Hunt of all time' and claimed prosecutors 'failed' to find a crime even as 'millions of dollars of taxpayer funds wasted.' His words came as an indictment against the business that made his fame and fortune, The Trump Organization, grows closer.

A new Jan. 6 video has surfaced from Bobby Powell, who hosts the “The Truth Is Viral” podcast, that appears to show black-clad rioters breaking out windows and defacing the Capitol after DC police were ordered to leave.
During an interview with OANN, Powell suggested that the two men in black who busted out windows and reportedly attempted to push protesters inside may have been FBI informants.
He witnessed the incident as he was on the east side of the building on Jan. 6 and commented on what he saw that day.
“Two men I saw attacking the building, breaking windows, and even pushing people inside have not been arrested.

Adherents of radical feminism are five decades into a powerful campaign that seeks to shape the way American women think. Politics, fashion, Hollywood, academia, and media propagate a singular vision of womanhood, relying on savvy use of optics, messaging, and even make-up. These radical feminists have done a remarkable job of silencing or sidelining their critics. Ironically, whether they know it or not, feminists’ unspoken premise insists men are superior to women and women must become like them in the pursuit of equality. Therefore, to be equal, women must be able to eliminate the consequences of sex, like men, and rid themselves of unborn children through unrestricted abortion.

Many years ago in grade school, we had a playground bully who liked to push little kids down, me included. I consulted my Dad, who knew everything in those days. He said sometimes the right thing is to walk away. “But at some point, son, you’ll have to stand up to him.” [Snip] Sunday night, word arrived that Biden had ordered new F-15E attacks along the Iraq-Syria border on three militia weapons sites said to be preparing launches against similar U.S.-occupied bases.

The counting and examination of paper ballots in Maricopa County, Arizona concluded on Friday, but there is still more work to do before the full results are made public. According to one report, however, preliminary results could be released as early as this week. The Maricopa County Audit Twitter account announced that they had finished counting paper ballots Friday evening. Ken Bennett, Senate liaison to the Maricopa County, Arizona, election audit, told OANN earlier this month that there would still be several more weeks of work left to do after the counting was concluded, CORRECTION*

At first glance, the Chauvin sentence strikes me as middling – not as much as he deserves, more than might be expected from the “criminal justice system,” at this point. At least we didn’t hear the standard response to police misbehavior: “We have investigated and found no evidence of wrongdoing.”

Nine people have been confirmed dead in the aftermath of the collapse of a condominium complex in South Florida three days ago, Miami-Dade Mayor Danielle Levine Cava announced Sunday.
During a Sunday morning news conference in Seaside, Levine Cava said four additional bodies had been recovered from the rubble and one person had died at a hospital after four bodies had previously been recovered from the scene.
The remains of four had been identified early Sunday, according to Miami Dade Fire Rescue, and Levine Cava said they have notified next of kin.

As much as CNN likes to call out conservatives about fake news stories, CNN itself was labeled as fake news by President Donald Trump. He constantly condemned the fake news media, including CNN.
Trump’s huge rally in Ohio, didn’t get an audience on the three major cable news networks.
The reason: They didn’t carry it.
C-SPAN carried the rally as part of its Road to 2024, as Trump is a potential candidate in the next election, and it also drew coverage on outlets like Newsmax and One America News Network. Fox News stayed with its Saturday night lineup of Watters World and Justice with Judge Jeanine

The National Archives’ racism task force said in a report that its own Rotunda — which houses the Declaration of Independence, the US Constitution and Bill of Rights is an example of “structural racism.”
The report, according to Fox News, attacked the Founding Fathers as “wealthy White men in the nation’s founding while marginalizing BIPOC [Black, Indigenous and other People of Color], women, and other communities.”
The task force, which was established after George Floyd’s death, suggested ways to “reimagine the Rotunda” including “dance or performance art in the space that invites dialogue about the ways that the United States has mythologized the founding era.”

The campaign to scare the world into adopting unprecedented abridgements of civil liberties to fight a purported pandemic that threatened unthinkable levels of casualties had a lot of help from the officials charged with counting the death toll. Most readers of American Thinker are familiar with anecdotes such as the motorcyclist who died in a crash but was counted as a “COVID death” because he had a positive test for antibodies. An audit by two Minnesota state legislators late last year estimated that COVID deaths in that state were overcounted by about 40%.

The Pennsbury School District is located in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, which gave its votes to Joe Biden by a very narrow margin (assuming Biden actually got those votes). While the community is evenly divided, the School Board is leftist. It wanted to bring in a diversity program but didn’t want community objections to show up in recordings of public meetings, so it censored those bits. Many parents were outraged – and one man, Simon Campbell, schooled the board on its constitutional obligations, including having to sit there and take it when people say things school board members don’t like.

Do you know why some dogs in shelters end up perishing? Simple neglect? The sad status of being unwanted? Global warming?
Nope. According to Katja Guenther, a professor of gender and sexuality studies at the University of California-Riverside, these canine deaths are due to “capitalism, anthroparchy, white supremacy and patriarchy.”
Of course.
Guenther says, for example, that people of color who abandon their dogs are likely victims “ensnared in the legal system,” forced to leave their animals behind “under the duress of sudden eviction or deportation or arrest.” She even claims that such people believe what they are doing is for the best, because of “the constraints of their knowledge and resources,

It’s hot. A number of North American cities have set record-high temperatures. But this is summer and that’s not indisputable evidence that man’s use of fossil fuels is overheating the planet. No matter what the Democrats say, how much the media nag, and how loudly zealots screech, the issue is not settled. There’s still enough doubt about the entire enterprise to fill the yawning gap between Earth and some far-away galaxy.
If climate models were on trial – and they should be – that doubt would be magnified by a new post from the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences (CIRES)

Representative Maxine Waters (D-CA) said Sunday on Fox 40’s “Inside California Politics” that Republicans and Fox News would not stop the investigation into the January 6 riot on Capitol Hill.
Anchor Frank Buckley said, “Chairwoman Waters, as you know Republicans blocked the 9/11 style commission to investigate the January 6 attack on our Capitol. Late this week, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced there will be a House Select Committee to bring together all of the House investigations under one umbrella. Are you satisfied that the House Select Committee will provide the answers about who is behind the attempt to stop the certification of Joe Biden as president?”

The culmination of New York City's Pride celebrations was marred on Sunday evening after an attack on a food vendor and skirmishes with police during which pepper spray was deployed. An elderly hot dog seller who was situated at the city's embattled Washington Square Park received a bust lip, bloody nose and was seen bleeding from his head after being punched in the face several times by a woman. The man could be seen standing next to the his food cart when he was suddenly caught off-guard and punched in the head almost knocking him off his feet.

Three cheers for the Senate filibuster rule, which requires 60 votes to move a bill forward. Were it not for that, Democrats might’ve succeeded in ramming through a sweeping bid to federalize nearly all national election rules — mostly to benefit themselves. Only 50 senators, none Republican, voted last week to advance the misnamed, 900-page “For the People Act” — 10 votes short of the requirement. The House had already passed it, again with not one Republican vote.

West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin has once again been masquerading as a moderate while colluding with radical Democrats to betray his constituents. His latest act of perfidy was a “yes” vote on a procedural motion that would have moved the pernicious For the People Act (S 1) closer to passage in the Senate. This violated a pledge he made to Mountain State voters three weeks ago in a widely published op-ed (Snip) He claims to have changed his mind after negotiating a compromise with Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.), but the bill on which Manchin voted “yes” was the same 800-page power grab introduced by the Democrats in March.

Lots of powerful people want you to stay scared about COVID, even as the toll in terms of death and hospitalization continues to plummet in the United States and other advanced countries. (snip) The delta variant is even more transmissible than earlier versions of the virus, but the other side of that coin is that it is weaker, less lethal. (snip) In fact, greater transmissibility of a milder variant helps natural herd immunity, rendering potential hosts nearly immune to further viral infections. (snip) This is just disgraceful! Joe Biden claimed that the delta variant is "deadlier."

Everywhere other than in Big Media newsrooms, Americans speak openly of President Joe Biden's cognitive decline and wonder whether he can last out his four-year term. If he cannot last, there are certain things we can be confident will happen and other things about which we can only speculate. The latter will be much more intriguing. (snip) If Biden leaves office when the Democrats still have leverage, that's when the fun begins. The competing power blocs within the party will stage a quietly vicious knife fight for that second spot. Knowing Harris's weaknesses, they understand its potential.

The push to vaccinate every last American, regardless of a rational risk-reward analysis continues unabated. The latest-- and most sinister-- example was provided by the Make-a-Wish Foundation, the organization that makes possible the realization of “life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.”
The nonprofit’s president and CEO, Richard Davis, recently announced via video that the charity will henceforth only grant wishes to terminally ill children-- and their family members—if they have all been fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Davis noted that Make-a-Wish would require the critically ill children-- as well as any participants from the family-- to be two weeks past full vaccination

During a Sunday appearance on New York City WABC 770 AM radio’s “The Cats Roundtable,” Harvard law professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz reacted to the State of New York suspending Rudy Giuliani’s law license over his claims of fraud in the 2020 election.
Dershowitz warned of the “danger” of allowing Giuliani to be disbarred “without a hearing.” He argued that equal justice for all is now “mortally wounded.”
“I taught legal ethics for, I don’t know, 35 years at Harvard Law school. I think of myself as a leading expert on legal ethics. I’ve never ever seen a case where a lawyer was essentially disbarred … without a hearing,”

In the closing minutes of Sunday’s Meet the Press, NBC political director Chuck Todd led a panel of mostly liberal media types in a discussion accusing the Republican Party of a nationwide effort to strip Biden voters, more specifically minorities, of their right to vote. Luckily, Danielle Pletka, senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute stood in the breach and called out the lies, gave examples of liberal states enacting the same election policies, and made heads rhetorically explode while doing it.
After Todd played a clip of Attorney General Merrick Garland announcing

While President Joe Biden may want to distract Americans from the border crisis and downplay the threats of Marxist critical race theory (CRT) and inflation, Americans know better. Most Americans recognize the border crisis as a serious issue, blame Biden’s policies for exacerbating it, and say Biden should return to former President Donald Trump’s policies on the border. Americans also worry about the threat of inflation and oppose CRT in schools.
At his speech on Saturday, Trump hit Biden on the border crisis and suggested that the crisis vindicated his successful policies — the policies Biden abandoned. A recent poll suggests Trump is correct.

Today is Prime Day. Imagine trying to explain that to an alien or to a time traveler from the 20th century. “Amazon turned 20 and on the eve of its birthday, the company introduced Prime Day, a global shopping event,” reads Amazon’s formal telling of the ritual’s 2015 origins. “Our only goal? Offer a volume of deals greater than Black Friday, exclusively for Prime members.” The holiday was invented by a corporation in honor of itself, to enrich itself. It has existed for six years and is observed by tens of millions of people worldwide. I hope you are spending it with your loved ones.

At the end of January, reports that yet another COVID-19 vaccine had succeeded in its clinical trials—this one offering about 70 percent protection—were front-page news in the United States, and occasioned push alerts on millions of phones. But when the Maryland-based biotech firm Novavax announced its latest stunning trial results last week, and an efficacy rate of more than 90 percent even against coronavirus variants, the response from the same media outlets was muted in comparison.
[SNIP] If the FDA sees no urgency, the Novavax vaccine might not be available in the U.S. for months.

Kamala Harris got near the border on Friday, but in a game of smoke and mirrors, didn’t actually get to the physical border itself. Instead, she flew into the El Paso airport, 800 miles north of where the real crisis is in the Rio Grande Valley. She went to a border patrol facility that was about nine miles from the border, then went back to the airport where she met with NGOs, and shelter and legal providers, for about an hour.
She was in and out in under four hours. Basically, a four-hour layover on her way to California, to quiet any more talk

On Friday, President Joe Biden and the Democrats thought they had pulled a fast one on Republicans when the president announced he would support the bipartisan infrastructure deal that had been hashed out over several weeks of negotiation. But he said he would only sign the deal if his gargantuan “American Families Plan” was also agreed to using the reconciliation process.
In other words, Biden said he wouldn’t sign a deal he had just said he would support. Republicans saw that as a bait-and-switch tactic, which it surely was. And they reacted angrily.
In fact, the criticism threatened

The New York Times reports that crime is starting to worry “progressives” — not the phenomenon, but the politics of it. I don’t know whether progressives in general are worried, but the ones at the Times sure are.
This Times article focuses on the success of Eric Adams in the Democratic mayoral primary. The Times frets that the winner of the race (at least in terms of the popular vote) “focused much of his message on exposing progressive slogans and policies that he said threatened the lives of ‘Black and brown babies’ and were pushed by ‘many young, white and rich’ people.”
