Olympic hammer thrower Gwen Berry
‘pi**ed’ national anthem was playing
at Olympic trials

A US hammer thrower turned away from the American flag as the national anthem played while she and two other athletes stood on the podium at the Olympic trials Saturday, later saying she was “pi**ed” that “The Star-Spangled Banner” played as she received her bronze medal. Gwen Berry — who qualified for her second US Olympic team during the trials — shifted to face the stands rather than the flag before holding up a black shirt that read, “Activist Athlete.” “I feel like it was a setup, and they did it on purpose,” Berry said of the anthem being played. “I was pi**ed, to be honest.

Comments:

I never heard of the beach, but the picture shows the 2 white contestants facing the flag, and the black one not. I feel so bad that my white privilege pi**ed her off. Poor baby.
(I had to make several edits to the headline and the copy to pass the word filter. You may know what it was anyway)

FWIW, I think "piqued" works for that, too, O.P. ... both in general meaning and in passing the profanity filter.

Trying to figure out whether her problem is more arrogance, entitlement, or just plain stupidity. Whichever it is, she has no business representing a country she so clearly despises. The clown makeup really complements the chip on her shoulder, btw. "they did it on purpose" ... of course they did. They tend to play the national anthem of those who win, place, and show in each competition at these events. So they deliberately played the anthem. Just like this talented jerk is deliberately acting like everything revolves around her.

Why won't people like grumpy Gwen (America hating hammer thrower), mean Megan (America hating soccer player), and other "Activist Athletes", who are fortunate enough to make a living playing games and complain about the country who allows them to do so, just move if we are so bad? These ungrateful people are able to find fault with everyone but themselves. Maybe their problem is not the USA, the problem is them! Their biggest problem is the chip on their shoulders.

Two children aged six and seven were struck by ricocheting bullets just south of Stockholm near what police believe was a gang-related shooting. The shooting took place on Saturday in the southern Stockholm suburb of Flemingsberg at around 8 pm, and the two young children were injured as they were walking on the footbridge. Both children suffered wounds to their legs and were taken to hospital, but were found to have non-life-threatening injuries, Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet reports. Police say that the two children were out playing when the incident took place and were not the targets of the gunfire.

Biden said Monday that the two bills will help prevent, rather than exacerbate, runaway inflation.

Five percent of those surveyed said they were "not very confident" in Harris. Only 36.4% of the more than 1,000 people surveyed said they were "very confident," "somewhat confident," or

Secretary of State Antony Blinken is neither naïve nor stupid. So why did he invite United Nations officials to investigate systemic racism in the United States? It cannot be for the sophomoric reason he stated: “Responsible nations must not shrink from scrutiny of their human rights record; rather, they should acknowledge it with the intent to improve.” (snip) We could write the report right now, without even knowing that the UN Human Rights chief, Michelle Bachelet, has already endorsed reparations on July 12 after issuing a UN report on systemic racism in late June which called for wide range of reparation measures.

The world’s best sports competitors are set to spend their nights on cardboard beds — allegedly designed to collapse under the weight of fornicators to discourage sex amid COVID-19. Olympic officials — who already warned 2021 Games participants to avoid two-person push-ups because of the coronavirus — have set up 18,000 of the cardboard beds in the notoriously sex-crazed athletes’ village,(Snip) . “Beds will be able to withstand the weight of a single person to avoid situations beyond sports,” Chelimo cracked. “I see no problem for distance runners, even 4 of us can do.”
