On “Fox News Sunday,” Fox News anchor Chris Wallace repeatedly asked Republican Indiana Rep. Jim Banks if Republicans are responsible for defunding the police.Wallace said that Banks and the GOP voted against the $350 billion in President Joe Biden’s American Rescue Plan that funds police officers, in turn asking if he and all the other Republicans that voted against the bill voted to defund the police. Wallace’s question came in response to his earlier guest, White House senior adviser Cedric Richmond, who made the claim that Republicans were indeed responsible.Banks did not address Wallace’s question and instead explained how police forces

Chris Wallace, forgive me, is a total disgrace. For every one thing he does that is non biased and decent, he does twenty that are horrendous. AND DOES ANYBODY WATCH HIM? Fox is carrying this fair and balanced stuff way too far. (Remember, during BOTH debates and having access to the actual transcripts re: Trump in Charlottesville, Wallace brought up Trump's "Nazi leanings", or whatever. First off the plate. The man knew EXACTLY what he was doing. He is a real blot on Fox for me.

" there’s $350 billion in this package the president says can be used for policing" First, "can be used" doesn't mean it will be used. Second, police funding is a local and state responsibility, not a federal one. Third, this is vintage Wallace, taking one thing and trying to make the Democrat talking point. Wallace is one of the slimiest of the slime in media, right down there with CNN's Acosta. Neither guy has any ethics, character or association with the truth.

Police Departments are locally funded. Local and State funds pay for each city / towns police department wit the funds directed locally. It was not Republicans in Congress who cut the Minneapolis police budget. It was not the Republicans in Congress who cut the Seattle police department budget. It was not the Republican in Congress who cut the NYC police department budget. It was not the Republican in Congress who cut the police department budgets in any cities or towns. That was proudly done by liberal activist City Councils or other local governmental agencies. The police budgets were cut by the same people who are now puzzled and confused about why crime has risen so dramatically in their cities. Of course they blame the Republicans. They are the only people to NOT call for cutting the police budgets. Chris Wallace knows better. In his attempt to appear neutral, he exposed his bias towards the liberal side of the defund the police narrative.

If Tucker Carlson, Sean H and Laura Ingraham were truly serious, they would ask Chrissy Wallace to come on their shows to defend his Biden talking point. Start interview by showing just some of the dozens of tapes of Minneapolis City Council members calling for defunding police in 2020 along with AOC’s Goon Squad calling for the same in Congress last year and this year. Then ask the oleaginous Wallace if he has ever seen a Repub leader calling for same. Make him defend his lies. Just because he gets $12 million plus a year from Fox doesn’t mean he can’t be held accountable.

Apparently Leftist Democrats haven't gotten the word from Chris Wallace that "defunding" the police simply means not voting any additional money for police, not cutting existing police budgets. In this case local leftists are handicapped because they, unlike Mr. Wallace, are still relying on that obsolete tecchnology known as a Dictionary.

In August, 1976, I moved to Lexingron, Kentucky to start a new job. One of the things I noticed about Lexington was that there seemed to be Lexington police cars everywhere, including parked in residential driveways. I asked some questions, and quickly learned that the police cars were purchased with federal law enforcement assistance program funds, and were taken home by officers at the end of their shifts, and used for their personal needs.. I asked what the purpose of the program was. The answer was that it was to make citizens believe that police presence was greater than what it was. Did it reduce crime? No. That was not the intent of the program, I was told. The purpose was to create the illusion of safety/security.
