Californians are fleeing the state to live where they can find more affordable housing, better schools, and a more rural lifestyle. A large percentage of them are choosing Austin, Texas. The San Francisco Chronicle reported on the phenomenon of more people opting for permanent telework in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic and the trend of people choosing to live in GOP-led states that didn’t impose draconian lockdowns: Experts say Austin’s boom, particularly during the pandemic, has been accelerated by Californians and Bay Area giants like Apple, Facebook, Google and Tesla that are all hiring in Austin. Last year, a record 22,114 jobs were added from companies relocating and expanding

Wow, just what Texas needs. More liberals in Austin. s/o

Which speaks volumes as to why Austin is known as the liberal sewer of Texas. Here's hoping that Texans can keep the locust plague contained there.

It remains to be seen... will these refugees bring the same voting habits with them that they exercised to foul the nest they just left? Austin is already "liberal" enough, a good dose of "San Francisco and they'll all be back where they started from. Like locusts, needing to swarm and devour the next ground after decimating the place they were. .

I live in Austin, used to love it here. Sold my home about 4 years ago deciding to rent. Stupid move on my part - rent has increased over $400 in 3 years, unreal housing and cost of living now. It used to be so wonderful here but no more. Ruined like every other liberal city, breaks my heart.

Notice how these California liberals are not fleeing to Texas in general. They are fleeing to Austin. The home of Mama government. Texas should ship their ass right back to California.

Surely, these liberal Scatterlings post their thoughts online too. To them: How do you feel about your new locale that lacks all the things you agitated for that made your previous home unwelcoming? Will you dirty up your new nest as well? Just askin'.

Yes the housing market here in Austin is unreal. If you're no willing to pay $50k OVER asking price you won't get a home. A new housing area will build 1200 homes. Their model will be done in 2 months. There are already 2000 people on the list. Inventory homes are non-existent. Our home has doubled it's worth in less than 5 years. Some houses are getting over 80 offers in a span of just 1 week.
As for their politics you can spot an import right away. They're the ones that are complaining about something because Texas may not do things the way they're used to. They'll complain about those late fireworks for this 4th of July. Yes, we have firecrackers and we set off sky rockets. As a implant myself 18 years ago from CA I can spot them a mile away.

Like I've said, we need a border wall in Texas. Around its northern, eastern and western borders. And a cattle guard around Austin to keep the liberals in one place.
BTW, Californians have been taking over Austin for the past 30 years.

Its not just Austin anymore. All the rural towns with any reasonable commute to Austin are growing fast. My native Texan nieces moved to San Antonio. They are dental hygienists and they meet lots of Democrats in their luxurious area of town. Dallas and Ft. Worth growth is incredible. The area around Eagle Mountain Lake has housing subdivisions on top of each other just getting going. Rockwall, TX has changed so much and realtors say CA folks buying homes around Lake Ray Hubbard. My nephew just moved to Southlake - also growing like crazy. We are now the Golden Place to go just as California was in the 60’s and 70’s. I think about that sometimes.

Sadly, they eventually metastasize and take down the entire state. Between this and the Newcomers, Texas, and thus the rest of the USA, is finished.

There is a saying here-- "Don't California My Texas"
Austin IS California in Texas.
The NEW saying should be "Don't AUSTIN My Texas!!"
Austin is MUCH cheaper cost of living that San Fran Sicko (as Savage calls it) but it is NOT inexpensive to live there.....

Not much difference between Austin and San Francisco. That's like fleeing Venezuela and going to Cuba.

Actually, more liberals in Austin is perfect. Texas is used to dealing with Liberals in Austin. It's when they start settling in other places that it becomes a problem.

I've lived in the Austin area for about 30 years now, moved to a suburb of Austin 15 years ago to get away from the congestion and crowds but it might as well be Austin now. My kids have 2 more years of high school and then I'm getting out of here. The old Austin that was a cool place to be died about 20 years ago. I can't wait to leave.

America needs great conservative podcasts in Spanish and a Hispanic Rush limbaugh. Texas will need it to offset this.

I hope the good people of Texas are prepared or have prepared for this because these people are about to screw up the state. I guarantee that if they are coming from the Bay area, they'll bring their horrible politics with them. If it is confined to Austin, that might be alright b/c Austin is already screwed up....just hope it doesn't permeate the rest of the state.
Also, TEXAS: keep the big tech companies out of your state or figure out how to control them because if you don't, they will be running the state in 5 years.

On the plus side, if transplants have to spend any length of time outdoors, maybe they'll all pass out and when they wake up, move again to ...I don't know...maybe Oregon.

#2 Get a great house in a nice neighborhood. What great home prices!
#3Get the kids registered for school.
#3 Get registered to vote.
#4 Run for City council or school board.
And then, as sure as the sun comes up, the needle and feces strewn tent cities will soon be blooming in Texas.

At least with Californians, you know what you are getting. If you see New York and New Jersey plates coming in, it's a grab bag. Some are nice people, others are the Northeastern nightmare that your mama warned you about.
