A cashier was gunned down inside a Georgia supermarket Monday simply for asking a man to put on a mask — and a retired deputy who intervened was also shot, authorities said.The afternoon horror happened at a Big Bear Supermarket in DeKalb, when the worker asked Victor Tucker Jr., 30, to mask up due to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation,(Photos) Tucker refused and got into an argument with the woman before leaving the store without making a purchase, the report and GBI said. Students in every K-12 public school in Florida will soon be able to observe a moment of silence at the start of each school day, if they so choose. Gov. Ron DeSantis on Monday signed HB 529 into law, which requires teachers in first-period classrooms in all K-12 public schools to set aside at least one minute, but no more than two minutes every day "for a moment of silence." During that time, "students may not interfere with other students' participation." In addition, "a teacher may not make suggestions as to the nature of any reflection that a student may engage in during the moment of silence."

So when Biden finally showed up, it might have been better had he not done so, because they were primed and ready. One of them asked him about Vladimir Putin and asked Biden if he thought Putin was a killer, a term that Biden has used for Putin in the past. A basic premise of the American system, going all the way back to the Founding Fathers, was an educated population. People weren't expected to be scholars. However, the Founders required a literate and moral population to make their great government experiment work. And that is what they got: most Americans were literate before public schooling. Colonial Americans could also read at a very sophisticated level. The colonists would not have known what to make of the abysmally educated people a scary, funny video shows. The unthinking American assumption is that, thanks to universally available public education, every American has at least a minimal fund of knowledge

Rockton, Ill.—Residents within a one mile radius of Chemtool, 1165 Prairie Hill Road, are being asked to evacuate due to possible dangerous chemicals being released in a large fire at the facility Monday morning. Approximately 70 employees were evacuated and were uninjured. Rockton Fire Chief Kirk Wilson said one firefighter was treated for injuries.(Snip) A massive dark plume of smoke extended south-southeast from the fire, raining ash and debris on residents as far south as DeKalb. Those are to house the growing wave of illegal border crossers. Seems that Harris hasn't been effective. One person was killed and another injured Sunday night after being struck by a car in the Uptown area of Minneapolis during a protest, near the site where Winston Smith was shot by sheriff’s deputies earlier this month. A witness said the eastbound SUV was moving at a high rate of speed as it approached just before midnight, and that the driver appeared to accelerate as they got closer to demonstrators who had blocked off Lake Street near Girard Avenue.
