Inflation’s Here, Getting Worse, And

Both the out-of-touch Biden administration and our betters at the Federal Reserve Board continue to assert that inflation’s no big thing. They’re right. It’s not, unless you work for a living. Then it’s a very big thing indeed. We were told by all the best “experts” that inflation is ephemeral, a mere blip. The Fed keeps telling us the recent jump in prices is “transient.” Democrats and many of their media friends continue to insist it’s not an issue. Just keep spending, they say. Stimulus!

The Labor Dept. May calculation of our inflation rate was about 5 percent. This number is very conservative. Thinking a more realistic value is in the 10 to 13 percent range. It will be most interesting to see how much higher inflation has to get before the Fed has to step in and substantially raise interest rates. Then we would see both the commercial and residential real estate markets implode bigly right before our very eyes.

"inflation’s no big thing"..... as long as you are extremely wealthy, and came by that wealth without having to work for it. As for me, I see that in the last year, Gasoline has increased from $1.60/gallon to $2.70/gallon, Steel has Doubled, and Wood (lumber, plywood, etc) has QUADRUPLED. I don't know just what world these 'experts' live in, but it's NOT the one I live in! LIARS, ALL OF 'EM!

Covid we could come up with a vaccine for and some type of cure. Unfortunately there is no cure for Stupid. Erasing all of the actions taken by Donald Trump to help the economy and the country, as well as other continued poor policy decisions, are short sighted and stupid on the part of Biden and the Democrats. They don't care. The more they destroy, the more power the feel that they will gain.

And all sorts of shortages, too. I am trying to buy a particular model of chainsaw now.....and can't find any in stock, and the dealers are saying that they have no way of knowing if or when they'll get any shipped in. Insanity, everywhere, and probably due to some dingbat governor shutting down the factory where they make them.

And the fools still think they got a "stimulus" check from the government.

A man who was caught urinating in a north Houston street was shot dead by a resident who took exception to the crude act. Both the victim and the suspect drew guns on each other Thursday night after a heated exchange between the man and a large group of residents. The Democratic Party has had a problem. It’s a small, incoherent, and privileged clique funded by billionaire oligarchs to push policies that even mainstream Democratic voters oppose. How to bridge the gap? The solution they chose, which party officials made clear this week, was simple: the way third-world elites always do—by using street violence to keep their clients in line. This week, pro-Palestinian demonstrators auditioned for the chance to join already established Democratic Party militias antifa and Black Lives Matter by attacking Jews in New York and Los Angeles.

Every human organization has social trust. The belief in the honesty, integrity, and reliability of others is what makes human organization possible. There is the vertical trust between layers within the social hierarchy and there is horizontal trust between members within a segment of society. Social trust is the mortar that holds the blocks of a human society together, but also the grease that keeps the wheels turning. In large-scale human societies, social trust is embodied in the institutions, which are the superstructure of society.

Earlier in Joe Biden’s presidency, we wondered if his wife Jill was running the White House, and in effect the country. It’s still not out of the question, but it’s beginning to look more like Chief of Staff Ron Klain, unelected and not confirmed by the Senate, is the real president. This should make all Americans uncomfortable. Klain, who was the vice president’s chief of staff when Biden held that office, has been called “the man executing Biden’s mission” (which seems to be carrying out the Cloward-Piven model that advocates manufacturing a political and economic crisis so that politicians can accrue more power in order to fix it,

As the body count rises, it is obvious that the victims of violence are predominantly poor and minority. Last week, a woman killed in a drive-by shooting had been attending a vigil for a friend who was shot dead after stepping on a gunman’s shoe. A man mortally slashed on a Manhattan subway platform had recently been paroled for an attack on a Jewish woman and her mother. More than 150 Republicans have signed on to a letter calling for people to 'reimagine a party dedicated to our founding ideals or else hasten the creation of such an alternative.' The letter, organized by former 'Anonymous' op-ed author Miles Taylor and former CIA officer Evan McMullin, mentions the ouster Wednesday of former GOP conference chair Rep. Liz Cheney. It raises the possibility of a complete break with the GOP and the creation of a third party in the face of what the signers term 'despotism.'

House Republicans planted themselves firmly in the camp of Donald Trump on Wednesday when they removed Rep. Liz Cheney from their leadership team after her criticism of the former president. In a closed-door meeting in the basement of the Capitol, Republicans voted to oust Cheney after she repeatedly called out Trump's false claims he won the election and criticized his role in the January 6 insurrection. After a voice vote, Cheney said: ‘I will do everything I can to ensure that the former president never again, is anywhere near the Oval Office.’ Cheney had addressed Republicans in the room before the vote.

But tiny sample sizes of spectacular crimes allow polemicists to hype whichever claims they want. What we need are large amounts of data. For example, everyone finally now admits what I’ve been saying for months: that murders went up a record-breaking percentage in 2020. But most still don’t want to admit it had anything to do with Black Lives Matter.

It is now clear, after the appointment of new attorney general, Merrick Garland, that he must, not may, appoint a Special Counsel to investigate Hunter Biden in public corruption matters that may substantially involve his father. This is especially clear now that it is known, contrary to his fervent denials, that Joe Biden met with Hunter’s corrupt Ukrainian and Russian clients at least once at Café Milano in Washington, D.C. There are likely more meetings, but once is enough. He also met at length in the White House with Hunter’s partner, Devon Archer, as the two were pitching their services to the corrupt Burisma Holdings,

American media is so infected with leftism that it’s ideologically slanted to the point of tipping over and it’s highly possible that the media doesn’t even know it. It doesn’t have the ability to look at itself critically, and we get very real moments where the media asks Democrats what it can do to better help them along while on air. The media in other countries can see it, though, and Australia’s, in particular, can’t help but dedicate a segment to it. I’ve stayed away from writing about the election audit in Arizona’s Maricopa County because I felt that, until the audit was completed, there wasn’t much point in trying to offering commentary about its progress. (snip) On Monday, though, a conservative reporter with a good reputation revealed some really stunning facts: Several hundred thousand ballots are missing and boxes that purported to hold ballots for counting contained only blanks. (snip) given that Trump won Arizona by only 10,457 votes, the fact that 5 to 10 percent of the votes are currently missing is staggering in its implications.

The Girl Scouts have an unusual problem this year: 15 million boxes of unsold cookies. The 109-year-old organization says the coronavirus — not thinner demand for Thin Mints — is the main culprit. As the pandemic wore into the spring selling season, many troops nixed their traditional cookie booths for safety reasons. "This is unfortunate, but given this is a girl-driven program and the majority of cookies are sold in-person, it was to be expected," said Kelly Parisi, a spokeswoman for Girl Scouts of the USA.

There is one big thing wrong with the American dream of owning one's own home: the price. The Case-Shiller home price index saw an annualized growth rate of 13.3 percent in March, the highest figure in more than seven years. All this is a consequence of the American idea, and the goofy system we've constructed to prop it up, that homes
