Neoconservative “Never Trumper” Bill Kristol endorsed socialist New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani, saying he wishes he was less “against Israel and all that” but calling him “a very impressive politician.” In an October 9 interview with Claremont McKenna College (CMC) student newspaper The Forum, the ex-Republican political commentator described the prospect of former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo becoming mayor as “ridiculous.”

Senior American intelligence officials concealed classified intelligence that COVID-19 came from a lab from the president and the public, granting Anthony Fauci’s inner circle extraordinary influence while silencing their own spy scientists, a Daily Caller News Foundation investigation found. Evidence pointing to a lab leak included signals intelligence collected from Chinese Communist Party (CCP) leaders in 2019 between Beijing and Wuhan revealing a major emergency, one former official told the DCNF. An increasingly political deep state concealed it from President Donald Trump during the first two months of the pandemic, deflecting blame from China as political rival Joe Biden sought to lay responsibility for the pandemic squarely at Trump’s feet.

King’s message came on Monday, shortly after Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard published over 230,000 pages of information related to King’s death in 1968, including details about the FBI’s investigation, memos about the case and the manhunt of shooter James Earl Ray. “Now, do the Epstein files,” she wrote on social platform X, attaching a photo of her father giving a side-eye expression.

The former Federal Election Commission (FEC) chair Ellen Weintraub said during an interview that she is weighing her choices after her ouster from the post by President Trump earlier this week. “Well, I’m still considering all of my options at the moment, but I will tell you that my email has been turned off. My computers have been taken. My pass, I believe, no longer gets me into the building,” Weintraub said during her Friday night appearance on MSNBC’s “Rachel Maddow Show.” Weintraub, a Democrat, who was appointed to the bipartisan commission by former President George W. If anyone in the future cares enough to write an authentic history of the 2024 presidential campaign, they might begin by noting that American politics exists downstream of American culture, which is a deep and broad river. Like any river, American culture follows a particular path, which has been reconfigured at key moments by new technologies. In turn, these technologies, which redefine both space and time—canals and lakes, the postal system, the telegraph, railroads, radio and later television, the internet, and most recently the networking of billions of people in real time on social media platforms—set the rules by which stories are communicated, audiences are configured, and individuals define themselves.

In his 17-month stint as UF president, Ben Sasse more than tripled his office’s spending, directing millions in university funds into secretive consulting contracts and high-paying positions for his GOP allies. Sasse ballooned spending under the president’s office to $17.3 million in his first year in office — up from $5.6 million in former UF President Kent Fuchs’ last year, according to publicly available administrative budget data. A majority of the spending surge was driven by lucrative contracts with big-name consulting firms and high-salaried, remote positions for Sasse’s former U.S. Senate staff and Republican officials.

A federal judge ordered CBS News senior correspondent Catherine Herridge to reveal her sources for a series of stories about the FBI's investigation of a Chinese American scientist back when she worked for Fox News. The order last week from U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper in Washington D.C. comes after scientist Yanping Chen filed a lawsuit against the FBI, claiming that the agency violated the privacy act by improperly leaking information about her. While working at Fox News in 2017, Herridge used a confidential source or sources to obtain material about the federal counterintelligence probe of Chen.

A primary suspect in the unsolved disappearance of American teenager Natalee Holloway during a trip to the Dutch Caribbean Island of Aruba in 2005 will be extradited to the United States from Peru. The suspect, Dutch citizen Joran van der Sloot, has never been charged in Holloway's death, and he is being extradited to the U.S. on extortion and wire fraud charges. However, Holloway's family hopes that the extradition will in so way bring justice, or at least closure, to the teen's disappearance. The government of Peru said Wednesday that van der Sloot will be sent to the U.S.
