Senate Democrats Increasingly Skeptical About Joe
Biden’s Infrastructure Proposal

Original Article

President Joe Biden faces continuing resistance from Senate Democrats over his infrastructure, despite only needing 50 Senate Democrats to pass his gargantuan legislation. Biden faces two options to pass an infrastructure bill by either passing a more moderate version with a bipartisan group of Senate Republicans and Democrats that could survive the 60-vote filibuster, or he could pass the legislation with only 50 votes using budgetary reconciliation. If Biden fails to gain the support of ten Senate Republicans to pass the bill through the Senate, he will have to use reconciliation, although many Senate Democrats have balked at his mammoth proposal for its high price tag

I think Manchin has already warned against trying to use reconciliation for this boondoggle, so chances are that approach won't work. Also, it is important to note that Democraps DO NOT CONTROL the Senate. They are 50-50 and much power share everything - committee assignments, what legislation comes to the floor, etc. Unless Turtle and Schumer both agree to bring this up to the floor under reconciliation, it never gets to the point that Kamal Toe can break a tie. You have the normal Romney / Murkowski / Collins cabal running around behind everyone's back trying to make a deal on this, but that will absolutely take 60 votes, and it isn't clear they even have 50 at this point. If they did and could, they would have already rammed this crapfest through. They don't. I expect they have 52-54 votes total, and reconciliation is something that Turtle is not going to allow. That might even get shot down by the Senate Parliamentarian, who has already shot down much of Xiden's plans to use reconciliation to get what he wants.

It is as much about infrastructure as the previous bill was about COVID relief.

Israel says it has launched air strikes against Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip, after incendiary balloons were launched from the territory. Explosions were heard in Gaza City in the early hours of Wednesday. Several balloons were sent from Gaza into Israel earlier on Tuesday, which caused multiple fires, according to the Israeli fire service. It is the first major flare-up since 11 days of fighting between the two sides ended in a ceasefire on 21 May. It followed a march by Jewish nationalists in occupied East Jerusalem on Tuesday, which had drawn threats from Hamas, the militant group that runs Gaza.

As ideological divisions wracked the Southern Baptist Convention this year ahead of a pivotal national meeting, one of the leading candidates for its presidency, Ed Litton, embraced a role as the man best equipped to build bridges and promote unity. “From time to time, every family has disagreements and tensions,” Litton said in a campaign video. “Because we’re a family, we don’t give up on one another.” On Tuesday he prevailed in a runoff against Georgia pastor Mike Stone to become the next leader of the United States’ largest Protestant denomination, winning about 52% of the votes among more than 15,000 delegates at a meeting roiled

Donald Trump has accepted Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s invitation to join him on an official visit to the United States’ southern border, he announced in a statement. The visit will take place Wednesday, June 30, 2021. “The Biden Administration inherited from me the strongest, safest, and most secure border in U.S history and in mere weeks they turned it into the single worst border crisis in U.S history,” Trump said. “It’s an unmitigated disaster zone.” “We went from detain-and-remove to catch-and-release. We went from having border security that was the envy of the world to a lawless border that is now pitied around the world. Biden and Harris

A federal judge ruled that President Joe Biden's administration's ban on new oil leases must be lifted nationwide. Judge Terry Doughty, of the federal Western District Court of Louisiana, on Tuesday sided with 13 conservative states, led by Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry, who sued the Biden administration after it postponed nearly all previously planned sales for the right to lease federally owned land and extract the underlying oil following a January executive order issuing a pause on those sales. Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Georgia, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah and West Virginia joined Louisiana in the suit.

The White House on Tuesday announced an effort to fight “misinformation,” arguing it was responsible for radicalizing domestic terrorists in the United States. “We must work to root out the hatreds that can too often drive violence,” President Joe Biden said in a statement expressing the need to take “short-term steps to counter the very real threats of today.” Biden and his administration plan to “counter the polarization often fueled by disinformation, misinformation, and dangerous conspiracy theories online” as part of “supporting an information environment that fosters healthy democratic discourse,” according to a fact sheet released to reporters.

AUSTIN, TX – Gov. Greg Abbott confirmed on Monday that since the Biden administration has taken over no one has reached out to the Texas Governor. "The president hasn't called, the vice-president hasn't called," said Gov. Greg Abbott on the "Ruthless" podcast on Jun. 14. "The only person I've talked to is some folks in the department of homeland security and that was a long time ago." Abbott claims that Texas feels like a frontier outpost and that to the Biden Administration the Texas Mexico border doesn't exist. Producer prices rose at their fastest annual clip in nearly 11 years in May as inflation continued to build in the U.S. economy, the Labor Department reported Tuesday. The 6.6% surge was the biggest 12-month rise in the final demand index since the Bureau of Labor Statistics began tracking the data in November 2010. On a monthly basis, the producer price index for final demand rose 0.8%, ahead of the Dow Jones estimate of 0.5%. Those higher price pressures came amid a pronounced dip in retail sales, which fell 1.3% in May, worse than the 0.6% estimate

exans have been unpleasantly surprised with blackout and usage warnings from ERCOT this week. That’s the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, which was no one’s friend during the great freeze back in February. Its rolling blackouts left Texans alternately freezing and fuming but not quite enough of the latter to keep our homes warm. Many had to go without heat during the worst freeze in the state in living memory. There had been colder snaps here and there through the years, but those were local. In February 2021, the entire state froze over. That demand for heat along with human errors strained and broke the grid.

American media is so infected with leftism that it’s ideologically slanted to the point of tipping over and it’s highly possible that the media doesn’t even know it. The Girl Scouts have an unusual problem this year: 15 million boxes of unsold cookies. The 109-year-old organization says the coronavirus — not thinner demand for Thin Mints — is the main culprit. As the pandemic wore into the spring selling season, many troops nixed their traditional cookie booths for safety reasons. "This is unfortunate, but given this is a girl-driven program and the majority of cookies are sold in-person, it was to be expected," said Kelly Parisi, a spokeswoman for Girl Scouts of the USA.

There is one big thing wrong with the American dream of owning one's own home: the price. Now that the pandemic is easing across much of the country, prices are skyrocketing — just like at the peak of the housing bubble, houses are being snapped up for well over the asking price in a matter of hours. The Case-Shiller home price index saw an annualized growth rate of 13.3 percent in March, the highest figure in more than seven years. All this is a consequence of the American idea, and the goofy system we've constructed to prop it up, that homes
