On Monday, national media reported an explosive story in Colorado. A prominent Black Lives Matter activist, socialist, and Denver Public Schools board member, Tay Anderson, stepped back “from everyday board functions” while an independent investigation looks into startling allegations that he sexually abused 62 current and former students... The alleged assaults range from unwanted touching to “violent rape” of students as young as 14 years old... Despite the gravity of these allegations, there have been nothing but crickets from the state party... same party that widely ignored accusations of sexual harassment with actual, contemporary corroboration by Tara Reade against then-candidate Joe Biden.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — California Gov. Gavin Newsom on Friday said he will not lift a state of emergency that gives him broad powers to impose or suspend rules involving the coronavirus when the state fully reopens its economy on June 15. But he still intends to lift most mask and other restrictions on that date. California has been under a state of emergency since March 4, 2020. Since then, Newsom has authorized billions of dollars in emergency spending and issued at least 47 executive orders to alter or suspend 200 state laws and regulations because of the virus, according to a

How do you raise the minimum wage without raising the minimum wage? This is a riddle that the Biden administration has solved with a set of economic policies that specialize in perverse incentives to crush small business. Chief among these policies is continuing unemployment aid to millions of Americans while job openings go unfilled. Once again this week the jobs numbers underperformed, missing projections by 100,000. This is starting to be a habit for Biden. Increasingly Build Back Better looks more like sit on the couch and watch the checks roll in.

Next year, our nation will celebrate 75 years since Jackie Robinson broke Major League Baseball’s color barrier. But three-quarters of a century after Robinson helped sports transcend racism, a new group of activists wants to ensure that future generations of ballplayers remain fixated on race. As a Virginia resident and parent of two young children, I find attempts to indoctrinate Little League coaches on critical race theory not only troubling but also extremely harmful.

For nearly a year, Jefferson Square Park in downtown Louisville, often called Injustice Square, Breeway, or simply “the square,” has been a place where multiple rots started. The mainstream media however likes to call these riots peaceful protests. Protest in downtown Louisville led to 17 arrests, five cars towed, one confiscated gun, and a search for a driver who hit a protester with their car. Police provided video captured on Real-Time Crime Center cameras, which are on the Metro Corrections building by the corner of Sixth and Liberty streets, that showed an individual in a car appearing to be confronted by about 10 protesters on Liberty.

California’s “assault weapons” ban was ruled unconstitutional Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California. The case, Miller v. Bonta, argued California’s ban on so-called “assault weapons” violated the Second Amendment. Judge Roger T. Benitez, appointed by President George W. Bush, agreed with the plaintiff’s contention, ruling:

U.S. Senate Majority Leader, Mr. Chuck Schumer, portrays himself as an unrelenting warrior for democracy and the champion of the oppressed. But in his narrow perspective, in which maintaining his and his party’s political power appears as an overriding value that trumps all other values, he does not seem to realize that he confuses things that the majority of the American people do not. Would someone, please, explain to him that cheating on behalf of the oppressed has virtually nothing to do with democracy and that a lack of ability or will to succeed in a merit-based society does not automatically make one an oppressed person?

Now that we know from his own emails that Dr. Fauci lied to us repeatedly, will National Geographic go ahead and release its planned documentary film on him? Sales apparently have been suspended by publisher National Geographic for the planned 80-page, $18 book by Dr. Fauci that was to be published in time for Christmas giving. The documentary seems to have been planned as part of the promotion for the book. Based on the 45-second promotional video that NatGeo released last February, the documentary looks like an overdose of hagiography. The treacly score alone is a giveaway

Thursday, Gov. Kristi Noem (R-SD) spoke about the Biden administration’s decision to close Mount Rushmore for the Fourth of July festivities, a contrast to a year earlier when then-President Donald Trump spoke before a fireworks display. The South Dakota Republican slammed the move, claiming it was part of the “radical left’s agenda.” “You know, the decision was really arbitrary,” she said. “That’s why we’ll be appealing this decision, and the fight isn’t over. There wasn’t specific reasons that had credibility, and we call this an unlawful act to not make sure that we can conduct our celebration on July 3 at Mount Rushmore like we did last year.

As the media begin to allow the truth to come out about the origins of the China-made, Fauci-approved COVID-19 virus, it has become clear that our government and our media lied about it early on. On March 8, 2020, Dr. Fauci famously told Americans via 60 Minutes that there’s no reason to be walking around with a mask. In fact, masks are likely even counterproductive, he said, because people don’t wear them correctly, constantly touch their face when wearing them, and the mask may give a false sense of security to wearers that may lessen other practical precautions to avoid exposure, like washing hands or physical distancing. Months later, he told us that he knew that masks actually would save countless lives, but he was lying to us in March about masks’ effectiveness because wanted to protect the medical mask supply chains

After the January 6 riot on Capitol Hill, many corporations chose to make grand announcements that they would no longer send political contributions to any politician who supported the attempt to overturn the presidential election results. The woke virtue-signaling was strong. Financial organizations joined in. Some of them chose to limit contributions to politicians who didn’t support overturning the election results while others paused all political contributions. Some organizations are quietly starting up. For example, Citigroup suspended all political contributions through its PAC for the first quarter of 2021 while Morgan Stanley singled out politicians who opposed the election results. SAN DIEGO — A federal judge on Friday struck down California's ban on assault weapons as unconstitutional but left plenty of time for the state to file an appeal. Judge Roger T. Benitez, who has favored pro-gun groups in past rulings, called the AR-15 rifle, used in many of the nation's deadliest mass shootings, "a perfect combination of a home defense weapon and homeland defense equipment." "Yet, the State of California makes it a crime to have an AR15 type rifle," Benitez wrote. "Therefore, this Court declares the California statutes to be unconstitutional." He praised the AR-15 as a rifle that should be formally protected by the law for its "militia readiness."

James Inhofe is 86. Patrick Leahy is 81. Twenty-three senators are in their 70s. The average age of senators at the beginning of this year was 64.3 years. It may be that being 88 now is like being, say, 78 a few decades ago. So despite being the oldest, this might not be the most age-impaired Senate in our history. Robert Caro’s book about the Lyndon Johnson-dominated Senate makes it clear
