LOS ANGELES — The Federal Bureau of Investigation Friday was investigating after a man reportedly attempted to break into the cockpit on a flight from Los Angeles International Airport.
According to authorities, Delta Flight 386 was on its way to Nashville. Video from the flight shows flight attendants and passengers wrestling with the man, tackling him and restraining him. Once the man was restrained and the flight crew was able to get the rest of the passengers seated, the pilots made an emergency landing in Albuquerque where the passenger was taken into custody. The FBI Albuquerque said in a tweet that there was no threat to the public.

President Joe Biden may soon allow legal immigrants with green cards to secure American citizenship without undergoing a standard name check by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Center for Immigration Studies Director of Regulatory Affairs and Policy Robert Law writes that sources with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) have indicated that the Biden administration is planning to drop the standard FBI name vetting process for legal immigrants applying to gain American citizenship. The Texas legislature has approved a bill that would ban the teaching of concepts associated with Critical Race Theory and “action civics.”
The bill has now been sent to Gov. Greg Abbott (R). In an interview with Yahoo News published Friday, Texas state Rep. Steve Toth (R), the primary author of House Bill 3979, said the bill is in keeping with the message of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
“This bill is a direct reflection of the 1964 Civil Rights Act,” Toth said. “It echoes Dr. King’s wish that we should judge people on the content of their character, not their skin.”

SAN DIEGO — A federal judge on Friday struck down California's ban on assault weapons as unconstitutional but left plenty of time for the state to file an appeal. Judge Roger T. Benitez, who has favored pro-gun groups in past rulings, called the AR-15 rifle, used in many of the nation's deadliest mass shootings, "a perfect combination of a home defense weapon and homeland defense equipment."
"Yet, the State of California makes it a crime to have an AR15 type rifle," Benitez wrote. "Therefore, this Court declares the California statutes to be unconstitutional."
He praised the AR-15 as a rifle that should be formally protected by the law for its "militia readiness."
Microsoft Corp on Friday blamed "accidental human error" for its Bing search engine not showing image results for the query "tank man" in the United States and elsewhere after users raised concerns about possible censorship around the Tiananmen Square crackdown anniversary.
Users, including in the United Kingdom, Germany and Singapore, reported Friday that when they performed the search Bing returned the message, "There are no results for tank man."
