University graduates have designed a women's urinal they claim is six times more efficient than the traditional lockable toilet. Amber Robyn and Hazel McShane, who graduated from the University of Bristol last year, designed the hands-free Peequal when they were asked to solve a 'real life problem' for their masters project.(Snip) Not wasting time on opening and closing doors and cleaning toilet seats, or laying toilet paper out over the seat, are also ways the design improves efficiency. A prototype of the urinal, which is semi-private so others waiting to use the Peequal can't see anything from the waist down,

Semi-private......what say the ladies? I'm guessing that this may not be real popular.

Um, no. Not for me. Might as well bring back chamber pots!
Though I do wish they had male and female specific portajohns. Why men can manage to keep urine in the toilet or even the urinal in a porta-potty is beyond me but invariably there is a puddle on the floor and seat. Do some men swing it around like an out of control hosepipe?

Ah, the specifics of human existence. Getting down in the detail of societal functioning. Hopefully it’s not racist or elitist.

Doesn't look like that would work too well with panty hose.
Why bother with the urinal just stand over the drain and let it go.

That is beyond gross. Jeesh, this comes from mothers not teaching their daughters how to be young Ladies. They allow them to run around looking like Boys, so they think it's okay to mimic Boys Bathroom habits. Good grief, what's next? I can't even imagine!

The country just needs more Buc-ees: cleanest convenience store restrooms in the world. 30 or so stalls for women. Amazing.

Don’t know if it has legs, but better walls and a roof would help.

And to see your face at the top of that thing....When I was in europe there was a country I visited and in the restaurant they had a giant room with stalls but no doors, men and women in the same are and also THE PHONE!! We did not eat in that establishment after we saw that. DISGUSTING!!!

Where did they get the "80% of women squat" bs from? Even when young, I couldn't squat. Now I'm old and my squatter is broken. This is a joke because it will very quickly get messy and P will be all over the floor. Who's going to keep that clean.

It just shows that you just need a lot more women's rooms at a venue.
Men just unzip and pee, whereas, women have to half undress to do the same thing. Not fair, but it is what it is.

I guess they want us to all wear dresses with no panties all the time, because that is the only way this would be feasible.
I wear dresses/skirts most of the time, but I am not going "commando" to save a few minutes in line.

I have to admit that here is an example of “male privilege”. I was on my back deck a couple of nights ago. Just about dark so I walked to the edge and had a nice pee. Didn’t need to go inside plus added a little fertilizer to the lawn. Sometimes it’s handy to be a guy.

#4, likely little boys too short for the urinals, mounted stupidly high in many portapotties.

I don’t sit on toilet seats so this looks interesting to me. But walls, please! Some privacy. If there are grips for older ladies to help, that is good. Not sure about young children though.

Oh yes. I would love to use one of those after the drunk woman before me missed the target. And what fun to use it after a woman has done #2 in the Peequal. Where's the T.P.?? The whole concept is gross and stupid.

That's hateful and not inclusive if you ask the science challenged/denying left.

This would work very well for events where the "ladies" are all young, particularly clad, and drunk enough not to care if they got pee on their shoes.
