Bluff Called: Ron DeSantis Wins Big Over

Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida keeps stacking wins. He did so again after news broke yesterday evening that Royal Caribbean, one of the top two, major cruise lines that operate out of Florida, will not require so-called “vaccine passports” for passengers. This comes after DeSantis used the state’s power over the ports to ban the practice. While many suggested the cruise lines would succeed by simply moving to another state, that doesn’t appear to be the case. The CDC has for many months been screwing around beyond reason with the cruise lines that want to commence cruising out of ports in the U.S. The uncaring decisions from the CDC regarding these cruise lines has been absurd and not in the least based on science. The CDC does not care one wit about how its absurd regulations are unnecessarily harming these U.S. port-related cruise lines. Until recently the CDC cruise line regulations have been based on solely petty democrat-style politics. This is evident by comparing the evolution of the easing of cruise lines regulations in the UK and Europe with the unyielding, absurd cruise lines regulations issued by the CDC during the past three to four months.

Democrats want every American to have a vaccine passport so they can "be safe," protected from a virus that has a mortality rate less than .05%. But do not dare ask anyone in NY, San Francisco, LA, or Miami to reveal their HIV status, even if they are performing surgery on you.

Until CDC and Coast Guard say sail, they aren’t sailing. It’s their move. If one thinks the cruise lines have $$$ at stake, check out those new terminals in FLA. Who holds the bond debt on those? Local government has plenty to lose here, too.

I love DeSantis. He is my Governor. But, I think he should have stayed out of the business of cruising. The Cruise lines are going to lose millions if they are not allowed to be sure everyone on their ships are vaccinated. I sure won't take a cruise unless they have proof of everyone on Board is vaccinated. We had planned to sign up for a Cruise to Alaska. Not now! I know I'm not alone as many Cruise Lines have polled their Passengers and found they want to know everyone on Board is Vaccinated. This is not over. I'd bet my House on it!

If the vaccines are as effective as they claim, and the entire crew is vaccinated along with a good share of the passengers, then what possible objection could there be over non-vaccinated passengers? Unless the vaccines don't work anywhere near as they claim, and they don't want that to be discovered.

RE #9: So according to the omniscient "some people," and those who are allergic to components of the vaccine aren't allowed to cruise? How about those who object for religious reasons? Or those who have had the virus and have natural immunity? I have an honest question for those advocating for vaccine passports. Once you have broken the HIPPA laws to show you are vaccinated, what else are you willing to discuss about your medical history on request "for the common good??" Do you have a history of drug abuse? How about excessive drinking? How about forcing AIDS patients to disclose sexual history before allowing them to participate in public events? This is a VERY slippery slope that we shouldn't even think about approaching. This past year should provide proof enough that once leftists grab control and force compliance on the public, our freedoms for EVERYTHING disappear in the blink of an eye!!

The right to vote is fundamental to our American democracy and protecting that right should not be about party or politics. Least of all, protecting this right, which is a value I share, should never be done in a partisan manner. During my time as West Virginia’s secretary of state, I was determined to protect this right and ensure our elections are fair, accessible and secure. Not to benefit my party but all the people of West Virginia. For example, as secretary of state I took specific actions to establish early voting for the first time in West Virginia in order to provide expanded options

FORT WORTH, Texas — Mattie Parker declared victory Saturday as the next mayor of Fort Worth, Texas, keeping it one of America’s biggest cities with a GOP mayor. The 37-year-old Parker was in a runoff with Deborah Peoples, a former Democratic county chairwoman who would have been the city’s first Black mayor. Peoples conceded defeat as Parker had more than 53% of the vote with ballots still being counted. Parker will succeed her former boss, outgoing Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price, a Republican who is retiring after 10 years and was the longest-serving mayor of the booming city that is closing in on 1 million residents.
