The last time Wendy Jerome was seen alive she was leaving her home in Rochester, New York, to deliver a birthday card to a friend who lived nearby. On Saturday evening, in Compton, California, two Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department Deputies were ambushed and shot while sitting in their patrol car. The Sheriff’s Department released this bizarre video of the shooting: [Video] Both deputies were shot in the head at close range, and both were in critical condition Saturday night after undergoing surgery. My patience has run out. As the country has been engulfed by rioting, looting, and violence since mid-summer, I’ve tried to couch my criticisms of the Black Lives Matter movement in ways that show grace to those who I truly feel are discussing issues in good faith. And while I’ve always known the actual BLM organization was a dumpster fire, I knew there were others who simply considered themselves part of a broader, more positive path that paralleled some aspects, but didn’t buy into everything BLM espoused. I can’t make that distinction anymore. BLM has lost that right with their latest behavior, if they already hadn’t long before.

As a Trump supporter, I don't casually dismiss the polls that consistently show he's behind. But I am cautiously optimistic he's going to win, for many reasons. Trump won in 2016 against overwhelming odds, the formidable Hillary Clinton machine and almost-unanimous predictions of his defeat. Though Trump was a well-known public figure, people didn't know whether he would fulfill his campaign promises and govern as a conservative. Many were skeptical, especially on social issues, based on some of his past positions. Sure, his outsider status was a major part of his appeal, and, yes, Clinton's unlikability helped, but I'm unimpressed with the theory that Joe Biden will defeat Trump because Trump has baggage

Gaige Grosskreutz, the 22-year-old Kenosha rioter who had his arm partially blown off by Kyle Rittenhouse after he aggressively rushed at the 17-year-old and pointed a pistol at the child’s head, cried victim on CNN. Grosskreutz had a gun in his hand when he ran up to Rittenhouse, so in self defense, the 17-year-old discharged his weapon, blew off part of Grosskreutz’s arm, saving his own life.Doctors performed surgery and saved Gaige Grosskreutz’s right arm. SALEM — Chris Tofte blew past the blockade, his green Jeep Cherokee aimed for the bowels of the raging Beachie Creek fire. It was around 4 a.m. Tuesday morning, and he was desperately searching for his wife, son and mother-in-law. The family lived 4½ miles up North Fork Road SE, about 10 minutes from Lyons and 30 minutes from Salem. Halfway there, the road flanked by walls of fire and fallen trees, he stopped for a man whose arm was badly burned.
