In late June NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace made national headlines after he claimed nefarious characters hung a noose in his garage at Talladega.
Bubba is one of two black NASCAR drivers.
At the time NASCAR released a statement revealing that a noose was reportedly found in top driver Bubba Wallace’s Talladega garage stall.
But after several days of investigating by several agents the FBI released a statement on its investigation at the Talladega Superspeedway and determined that Bubba Wallace was not the target of a hate crime.

My money is on “they allowed him to resign”. A not at all stellar, undoubtedly bought onto the team by his wealthy father, he did almost nothing but pull a Jussie-Smollett-Goes-to-NASCAR stunt. Good riddance.
What really blew his story:
In fact the alleged “noose” had been hanging in the same garage for several months before Bubba moved in.

It was a rope overhead door pull handle that had been there for years. Stupid. Just go ok. No one cares.

Wallace could have done his part in unifying America if he had not demanded that the Confederate battle flag be disrespected and banned. Secondly had he not shrieked like an unbalanced teenager that a noose was hanging in his garage he would not now be regarded as a hysteric. These two acts ruined his career.

Most likely he left Petty Motorsports because he has another ride lined up for next season. Petty Motorsports is at best a low level team. Good drivers that do well (like advance to the championship round...something Wallace did NOT do) can find a better ride.
Can only think of two cars in search of a driver. The first is the Jimmie Johnson ride. The other might be the Matt Kenseth ride (formerly the Kyle Larson ride). Possibly one of the owners is creating a new team. Wallace comes with sponsors which will go a long way for him landing a ride.
Wait and see. Personally don't think Wallace is that great a driver, but maybe he would do well in a top tier car.

I could have sworn that Richard Petty racing released him.. maybe I misunderstood. I watched the race last night, they made one comment saying he won’t be back. I believe he is looking for a new team to drive for... I don’t care if he is in the series or not

Richard Petty Racing wants drivers to get attention based on their top performance driving a race car.
They must have concluded that this would never happen with Bubba, who decided he could get more attention by driving the race card.
Now, NASCAR has lost a lot of fans for allowing itself to be woke.

Can BLM afford to sponsor him?
I think he may end up like Kaepernick.
With everyone afraid to hire him because he made such a damned fool of himelf.

Bubba has led a white privileged life! Done nothing, achieved nothing except what has been given to him. Now that BLM has come, he now discovers that he is mocha but chooses to be black. He is mediocre at best as a driver but the social justice warriors deem him to be #1. Sadly he will continue to accept all gifts, accolades and non-achievements to elevate himself as a black pioneer in NASCAR when he is really just a race hustler and that's all he'll ever be.

Is Al Sharpton head hunting NASCAR for a driver for his new racing team? This might get interesting. Well, maybe not interesting, but it will be funny.

re #23. This will really date me as an old coot but I remember watching Wendell Scott at a NASCAR race over fifty years ago. By all accounts, he was well-liked by the fans and the other drivers even though he was racing in the deep South. Would have done much better if had the money and advantages that Bubba enjoyed.

Another story most Americans really know nothing about, only the MSM spin. Like the other mulatta, Kaepernick, most will never know of the advantages he enjoyed and he will be hailed as a black who stood up against the white establishment.

It's obvious Wallace is shopping around for a militant cause for which to attach himself. BLM will soon be threaten NASCAR team owners to hire Wallace or else.

What a shame, NASCAR loses a mediocre driver after beclowning themselves over a hoax that was figured out on the same day that Bubby complained about it. Now don't they feel stupid? Bubby will go the Jessie Smollett route and never work again. The guvmint forces you to hire black people but that won't happen very often because there is so much risk in it now that they will be somehow offended.

Let's say you broke the rope on your garage door. You wouldn't take it down and replace the entire door-you'd tie on a new rope and since it would be difficult to pull on that rope without some type of handle, you'd tie a simple loop knot on the end to grasp and pull with force. Then you'd say " the next time I'm in the hardware store, I'll buy a new pull handle for the rope. Then you'd forget to do that.
A few months later , the whole damned racist world explodes.

Bubba Wallace had the dual advantage of a successful (white) businessman for a father who could afford the expense of his son's racing cars and a Black mother who let him "check the box" as a minority. I wish that he had assessed the situation and thanked the great majority people, sponsors and fans in the world of NASCAR who were rooting for him and had supported him as he climbed the ladder. Yes he could have acknowledged the unfortunate presence of a few (may use descriptive verbage here), but he was grateful for what NASCAR stood for in its support of him. How many fans would he have gained for this mature response? Instead, I think that he revealed his true character.
