LTC Alexander Vindman, USA, now retired, burst onto the national scene in October of 2019 when he testified before Congress as part of the Democrats’ orchestrated effort to impeach President Trump on abuse of power charges. A window into his ego and narcissism was evinced when he admitted during that testimony that he was offered the position of defense minister of Ukraine three times, as reported here. He was being played and corrupted by the Ukrainians in order to influence US policy toward Ukraine. This “flattery” amounted to bribery that should have gotten him court-martialed for corruption and doing favors for a foreign government –

The Woodward Tapes have provided for some interesting dialogue in the country over the last several days. Both “teams” have gone to their corners, one defending the President for the statements made to Woodward and the other criticizing him. I am going to choose a different path to approach this: One of critical thought.
Some of the statements made by Democrats go a little something like this:
“Trump knew it was more severe than it was and didn’t do anything.”
“Trump knew it was deadly and lied to the American people about it.”
“Trump knew it was going to spread and made it worse!”

I noted several examples on Twitter yesterday of the “Greek Chorus” for “Former Federal Prosecutors” banging cymbals like wind-up monkeys and shrieking “Federal prosecutors don’t normally resign so this is all a protest of the corrupt acts of Attorney General Barr!” (Snip)Both of these are inaccurate and dishonest.
First, we don’t know why Dannehy chose to resign. On Thursday, while speaking at an event organized by the rabidly anti-Israel group J Street, former Vice President Joe Biden snapped that President Donald Trump had “put Israel in danger” by withdrawing from the Iran nuclear deal. Biden’s timing was hilarious considering that on Friday, Trump announced that Bahrain became the latest Arab country to normalize relations with Israel, following the United Arab Emirates having done so in August. [Tweet]
Biden stated, “Trump has put Israel in danger by tearing up the Iran nuclear deal, and replaced it with nothing.

Also among the names is that of slain retired St. Louis police officer David Dorn. Dorn was killed in early June by rioters while checking on a friend’s store in St. Louis. The listing of Blake’s name, given his alleged violent history of sexual assault, stands in stark contrast

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Coronavirus infections in the Dakotas are growing faster than anywhere else in the nation, fueling impassioned debates over masks and personal freedom after months in which the two states avoided the worst of the pandemic. The city was forced to move its meeting to a local arena to accommodate intense interest, with many citizens speaking against it, before the mask requirement ultimately passed. Corrections*

After flirting with renting a nearby place, the Democrat decided to move in with family in Indiana – and abruptly abandon his congressional bid for an open seat against Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene. Lansing, Mich. — Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, faced with lawsuits challenging her use of emergency powers to fight the coronavirus, could continue to prevail in court. But she may be unable to stop a Republican maneuver that would rescind a 75-year-old law that has enabled her to issue and lift COVID-19 restrictions unilaterally. A ballot drive said Friday it was in the "home stretch" after collecting more than 400,000 signatures in just two months. Its goal is 500,000. If at least 340,000 signatures are deemed valid by the state elections board, the GOP-controlled Legislature would likely repeal the 1945 law rather than let it go to a 2022 public vote.

During the 1960s civil rights movement, African Americans and their supporters risked their lives for equality and liberty. Some died in the struggle. One of the chief goals of the movement’s courageous and truly peaceful protests was the end of governmentally imposed and oppressive Jim Crow laws mandating racial segregation.
Certain the moral conscience of America would see the righteousness of the cause, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. declared: “Today we know with certainty that segregation is dead. The only question remaining is how costly will be the funeral.”
Unfortunately, the “woke” directing the University of Michigan-Dearborn (UM-D) Center for Social Justice and Inclusion must have slept through segregation’s wake.

Democrats are having a shattered-glass crack-up to the continuous good news coming from President Trump on the global peace front. Their famously disciplined lockstep 'narrative' has gone haywire.
Over in Sweden, a legislator has nominated President Trump for the Nobel peace prize over his role in bringing peace to longtime foes Kosovo and Serbia. That's the second one who's done it. It follows a Norwegian legislator's nomination of Trump this same week for the same prize over his role in brokering an Israel-UAE entente, the biggest peace breakthrough since the Camp David accords, which made peace between Israel and Egypt. That one earned its participants a Nobel prize, too.

His job was to look up the share of the electorate that pollsters were anticipating for whites without college degrees and for African Americans.
What he found put an end to the piece. It seemed a big bet was being placed on 2012 levels of black turnout occurring in 2016 and, more importantly, that pollsters were badly underestimating turnout for whites without college degrees. As perceived security threats mount in Earth's orbit, countries around the world are following the example of the United States and creating their own "space forces."
Nine months ago, in December 2019, the U.S. Space Force was born. The new military branch was created with a focus to protect the nation's satellites and other space assets, which are vital to everything from national security to day-to-day communications.
Now, countries including France, Canada and Japan are following suit, as leaders from those countries' "space force" analogs said Thursday (Sept. 10) during the 2nd Summit for Space Sustainability, an online event hosted by the nonprofit Secure World Foundation.

September 11 closed off a rather embarrassing week for CNN. Shortly after the network’s chief media correspondent, Brian Stelter, published a book condemning Fox News for a “dangerous distortion of the truth,” evidence emerged that CNN leaders meddled in a congressional race, offered favors to a presidential candidate in exchange for the promise of a TV show in 2016, and tried to coach President Donald Trump’s lawyer on the topic of Stormy Daniels.
But by all means, keep complaining about Fox News. That tactic is sure to hurt your competitor’s ratings, right?
Without further ado, here’s a round-up of CNN’s scandals.

Famed reporter Bob Woodward is dropping his new book about President Trump, Rage, next week. Woodward has already leaked the book’s juiciest excerpts to the media, such as the the President telling him during an interview on March 19 that he wanted to ‘play down’ the severity of the coronavirus in order to avoid a panic among the American people. This comment has led Trump’s critics to call for his resignation or for him to be impeached a second time.
Rage, however, is perhaps more revelatory about its author than its subject. Let’s assume that the critics are right, and that Trump’s decision

I didn’t watch the NFL’s opening game last night between Kansas City and Houston. However, I’ve read several accounts about the players’ approach to the National Anthem and related activity.
Apparently, the NFL decided to play both the National Anthem and a song called “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” which is sometimes referred to as the black national anthem. The idea of a black national anthem should be offensive to all but racial separatists. As long as we’re one country, we should have just one anthem, and it should be the only one played at sports events.
The Houston Texans stayed in their locker room during both anthems,

Last week, I predicted that, if Trump has a clear victory on November 3, any uprisings after the election will be of short duration because Trump will have a clear path to end them. On Thursday, Trump confirmed that this is what he intends to do.
My post came about because I was thinking about the Democrats’ threat that, if the election result is anything but an overwhelming victory for Biden, they will take to the streets in orgies of violence. They are also threatening to overthrow the usual processes of the Electoral College by sending Democrat party electors even if the state has broken for Trump on election day.

President Trump’s announcement today that Bahrain will be the latest Arab country to recognize Israel starts to make it look like we could be on the way to a Mideast Peace. It would be unwise to get ahead of events, but it would also be unwise not to recognize at least the possibility that is coming into view. Predicting this development Thursday, Mr. Trump declared, “You could have peace in the Middle East."
The announcement by the White House today comes in advance of what was already shaping up as a remarkable event for Tuesday, when Mr. Trump is due to host at the White House the signing

William Shakespeare famously observed that “all the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players.”
One of these players, Joe Biden, is currently trying out for the biggest role of his life. Unfortunately, he’s in danger of bombing the audition. He’s flubbing lines, breaking character, and occasionally forgetting the plot.
His rambling, often incoherent speech in front of a supportive audience at a church in Kenosha, Wisconsin, on September 3 shows that he’s no longer playing the role of viable presidential candidate. Instead, he’s stumbled into the last scene of Shakespeare’s “strange, eventful history” — “second childishness and mere oblivion.”

The Wisconsin Supreme Court on Thursday temporarily suspended the mailing of absentee ballots for the Nov. 3 election as the court weighs whether to order the Green Party presidential ticket be added to the ballot.
Gov. Tony Evers announces members of nonpartisan maps commission
The order from the conservative-backed majority on the state Supreme Court, coming a week before the state-imposed Sept. 17 deadline to send out requested absentee ballots to registered voters, is in a case brought by Green Party presidential candidate Howie Hawkins.
Some clerks, including those in Dane County, have already printed or sent out ballots as they handle an unprecedented number of requests this year due to COVID-19.

Two years ago, a flood of anti-Trump sentiment helped flip the House of Representatives blue, with Democratic candidates winning more votes than Republicans by nearly 10 percentage points nationwide — a record margin for a party that had been in the minority.
Because the 2018 election was largely seen as a referendum on President Trump, Democratic strategists are looking to carry those gains forward. Indeed, national and swing-state polls continue to show Joseph R. Biden Jr. with a steady lead — particularly in the suburban areas where Democrats made some of their biggest gains in the midterms.
But Mr. Biden may not be able to count on the same level

Senate Republicans hoping to go on offense this week found themselves instead playing defense once again because of controversial remarks by President Trump — this time to Watergate reporter Bob Woodward.
It was a familiar dilemma for GOP senators used to being chased by reporters over their thoughts on Trump’s latest furor, but in this case it came with terrible timing — eight weeks before an election in which the Senate is on the line and as they hoped to call attention to Democrats blocking a coronavirus relief bill Thursday on a procedural motion.

LAS VEGAS – Emotions were running high on election night in 2016, especially if you had nearly $30,000 on the line.
“I went into election night with the position of Trump minus $28,000, Clinton plus $25,000," Paul Krishnamurty, political analyst for Betfair, the world’s largest online betting exchange, told Fox News.
Donald Trump’s victory that night over Hillary Clinton almost four years ago came as a surprise to professional gamblers and pollsters. “I think everybody was shell-shocked, right? You were just watching these crazy results come in and everything just flip,” Krishnamurty said. “I managed to nearly halve my loss on Trump. But it wasn't a good night.”

Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) claimed on Friday that President Donald Trump’s recent success in securing peace deals in the Middle East was nothing more than “a distraction.”“How much credit do you give the President of the United States for these peace agreements?” CNN’s Wolf Blitzer asked.“Well, hopefully they won’t—hopefully they will beneficial [sic] to the region,” Pelosi said. “We’ve been waiting for a very long time for the president’s proposal for an Israeli-Palestinian peace agreement that honored the two state solution. Democrats have begun running up a lopsided advantage in early voting as well as absentee ballot requests, in an election what has seen an unprecedented split on voting strategy and furious attacks by the president on mail-voting. The advantage is pronounced in the battleground states that will decide the election, and that are attracting candidate visits and a TV air war. The differential in absentee ballot requests has hit three-to-one in Pennsylvania and North Carolina, two states that President Donald Trump won in 2016 that Joe Biden is hoping to strip back. The advantage in the Keystone state has extended

A Mexican-inspired cantina called Elotes was slated to open Thursday as the new anchor restaurant inside St. Paul's Keg and Case Market. Instead, it opened Friday—with a different name: Woodfired Cantina. The restaurant, which is taking over the former In Bloom and its 20-foot wood-burning hearth, delayed its opening because of a problem with the fire-suppression system. The same day, it dropped the name Elotes—nodding to the Mexican grilled-corn dish—after criticism from some members of the Mexican community.(Snip) On what should have been its first night of service, about 50 protesters gathered outside
