On Sunday, police arrested a man who confessed to starting a brush fire with a Molotov cocktail in Portland. They booked him in Multnomah County Jail. Portland being Portland, the authorities released the suspect that evening. The man then went on to start six more fires before the police arrested him yet again. A federal judge in Pittsburgh on Monday found that orders issued by Gov. Tom Wolf restricting the size of gatherings and closing non-essential businesses to protect against the spread of covid-19 were unconstitutional. U.S. District Judge William S. Stickman IV wrote in his 66-page opinion that even though the actions taken in the spring by Wolf and Health Secretary Dr. Rachel Levine were laudable, they violated the First Amendment right to freedom of assembly, and the Due Process and Equal Protection clauses of the 14th Amendment.

America’s oldest World War II veteran received a military flyover for his 111th birthday on Saturday as the coronavirus changed plans for a more traditional birthday celebration. Last year, New Orleans native and World War II veteran Lawrence Brooks received cupcakes, music, and lots of kisses at the National WWII Museum as the facility hosted him for a birthday party for the fifth year in a row. A gun store owner in Richardson, Texas, faked a heart attack during an alleged armed robbery Thursday, buying time to get his hands on a gun and shoot one of the suspects. CBS DFW reported the incident occurred around 3 p.m. at Mike’s Gun Room. Fox 4 reported that 77-year-old Mike Brown was in the store by himself when four masked men entered, acting as customers, then proceeded with an alleged robbery attempt. Brown said the men forced him to the floor behind the counter and allegedly put a gun to the back of his head. He then told them he had a heart condition and needed to get his medicine.
