Endorsement: Joe Biden isn’t just ‘anybody

This year’s presidential election confronts voters with the most consequential choice they have faced in decades, and for many, their lifetimes: between a divisive, authoritarian-leaning incumbent and a seasoned patriot who brings not only five decades of experience, ability and commitment to American values, but also bold ideas at a time of national crisis. Nothing less than the health of our constitutional democracy is at stake. So stark is the contrast between Donald Trump and Joe Biden that we feel compelled to announce our endorsement of the Democratic nominee and his running mate, Sen. Kamala Harris of California, now, at what is traditionally the beginning of the fall campaign and before

Racing to get this out before the “televised debates…” Right.

What an insult to the people of LA but also to the people of America. A candidate who is a rotten and corrupt as they come, one who has lied his whole career, stolen others words and speeches, enriched his family members beyond comprehension, and is quite literally a dementia patient. He is incapable of answering questions without the answers written out for him, won't / can't leave his basement, and selected an avowed racist / communist as his running mate. Give us a break!

I dont care WHO wins the election, the polarization wont end. If Biden wins, it will only appear that we have returned to normalcy, only because the press will never cover him negatively. Biden wins, it will be payback time and a return to pay to play. If Trump wins, we will have 4 more years of non-stop Orange man bad press coverage and more rioting in the streets. Its time we all admit that we are racing towards the breakup of the union.

Organized anti-police violence is escalating in Democrat-run cities in Democrat-run states. Polling is showing that the Biden campaign is bleeding out over the issue of BLM and Antifa rioting and the inability of the Biden campaign to come out strongly against civil unrest because its core supporters are either in the streets or whipping up hatred to get other people to riot. Northern California fires have become increasingly common over the last decade as a consequence of mismanaging the environment. Native Americans staged controlled burns to safeguard their villages and create favorable hunting conditions. We failed to emulate that practice, and, as even Mother Jones concedes, so much fuel accumulated in the wilderness that megafires began burning year after year.

Were the Republicans to run a Catholic for president who supported, say, segregation, the bishops wouldn’t hesitate to condemn that figure and warn their congregations not to vote for him. But the bishops apply no such condemnation or warning to Joe Biden, who is a dissenter in favor of abortion rights and gay marriage. Even Biden’s officiating at gay marriages, an egregiously disobedient act for a Catholic, is met with silence from most bishops.
