A 33-year-old Mexican man died in American custody on Saturday about a week after falling from the US-Mexico border wall, authorities said.
The man was found injured in an open field near Yuma, Arizona by agents from the US Customs and Border Protection on July 26, the agency said. He told agents he had plunged from the wall.
Emergency responders immediately rendered first aid before transporting him to Yuma Regional Medical Center. He died there 6 days later, CBP announced Sunday.

Authorities did not disclose his identity.
A 7-year-old Philadelphia boy is clinging to life after he was shot in the head as he played on his front porch, police and distraught relatives said.
The boy, identified by his mother as Zamar Jones, was struck in the head by one of more than 12 shots that rang out late Saturday as he played outside with other children on his West Philadelphia block, police and neighbors told the Philadelphia Inquirer.
A gunman opened fire on a group of people who were standing outside at the time, two of whom fired back, police told the newspaper.

Vincent J. Sessler, 25, was nabbed Friday after an Illinois State Trooper found a “large, thick piece of mucus which was later confirmed to be saliva” in his cup, cops said.
The officer had gone to the coffee shop Thursday around 10:20 p.m. for a cup of black coffee, local CBS affiliate WBBM-TV reported.
But when he took the lid off to cool the beverage down, he noticed what looked like a gob of spit floating on top, police said.

A British media company on Monday published segments of two leaked body-worn camera videos showing the arrest and death of George Floyd in May at the hands of Minneapolis police.
The Daily Mail published an article on its website at 10:53 a.m. Central Time with the videos. It showed about 10 minutes of video from former officer Thomas Lane's bodycam and about 18 minutes from former officer J. Alexander Kueng's bodycam.
The two former officers' bodycam videos were made available for public viewing inside the Hennepin County courthouse in mid-July, but were prohibited from being recorded or publicly distributed.
It's unclear how the Daily Mail got the videos.

A consensus has formed about this presidential election: it is Joe Biden’s to lose. Florida wildlife officials announced last week that 5,000 invasive Burmese pythons have been removed from the delicate Everglades ecosystem since setting up elimination programs three years ago.
Teams with Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) and South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) worked together to reach the milestone effort, the agencies said in a statement on Tuesday. SFWMD Governing Board Member “Alligator Ron” Bergeron called the milestone “another win for the Everglades.”

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's division of Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service has identified some of the mysterious seed packets that seem to have been sent to more than 1,000 American households largely from China.
As of Wednesday, 14 of the seed species had been identified, according to the agency's Deputy Administrator Osama El-Lissy. U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Robert Redfield has confirmed that, despite claims otherwise from the left, there is indeed a “perverse incentive” for hospitals to overcount their coronavirus deaths by falsely attributing unrelated deaths to the virus.
Asked during a House Oversight and Reform hearing Friday to comment on what Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer, a Republican, described as a “perverse incentive for medical folks to claim that somebody died of COVID versus an automobile accident, for instance,” Redfield admitted that the congressman had a point.
