Joe Biden is dithering. He was supposed to tap his running mate the first week of August, but has now postponed the announcement to Aug. 10. It’s the first consequential decision of his campaign, one that could determine whether he wins or loses in November, and he’s blowing it.The extension, and the ongoing uncertainty it suggests, casts Biden as wobbly.
It also reduces any zip that the eventual announcement might have. It’s not a great beginning for a candidate constantly tweeting that the country needs “strong leadership.”Granted, that’s a lot to read from a one-week delay. But, after all, we don’t know much about Biden 2020’s governing style

Biden’s people are dithering. He is in a dark abyss and going deeper and they know it. They are dithering because they don’t know what to do about it...

#1 hit one part of why this is happening. I believe there are two other parts to it. First, with Joe Biden no longer mentally able to make any decisions there is no one in his campaign willing to take the risk of being wrong about the VP choice (if Joe Biden was capable of making a decision, his handlers would be able to allow him to say, "This one" and he would take the blame if that proved to be the wrong choice).
Second, Biden's handlers are looking for a candidate who would both bring some zest to the campaign AND remain a puppet when she actually became President. There is no such person available.

Pretty soon he will drop out and Bernie will take over, and announce Hillary as vp pick. Then some time next year Bernie will retire from pres or come down with arkanside. Never count the Clintons out.

He forced himself into a corner. It has to be a black female (D). Now find one that is not a "former" radical, not a racist, not a rabid #BurnLootMurder, not a man-hater, who can bring in a swing state. . A nearly impossible task

Biden is not dithering nor are his people. The closed door back room deals aren’t completed. Once the deals are done, Biden and people wil be told who is the VP.

He is not dithering.
He is doddering.
He is not tracking well.
Having been consistently wrong for 77 years, he continues to be wrong.
All his choices are perilous.
Any of them would be shredded by Pence.

Traditionally, running mates haven't mattered (with the possible exception of LBJ in 1960). That general rule should continue to hold this year. None of those on Biden's short list can help him carry any state that isn't already in the "D" column, and any one of them has the potential to alienate voters outside her A-A base. Only sheer hatred of Trump can carry Biden over the finish line, and the MSM are doing and will continue to do their best to bring that about. Conservatives like to think that the legacy media has lost credibility, and this election will be a good test of that belief.

The problem is at the top as well as his choices for VP. Biden is a symptom of a larger problem. The Democratic party has reached a political dead end. The American people don't want Communism and Marxism. Neither is a representative form of government.
Meanwhile many Democrats are planning to vote for Trump.

No sane politician wants to be tied to this loser, Biden. Can you imagine Kamala Harris or Elizabeth Warren haranguing the voters every ... single ... day ... throughout this short sprint to the finish? Eat your broccoli, wash your hands, open the doors to the country, $1000 a week for everyone.

Has Sleepy Dopey Joe ever NOT dithered? Dither is his middle name. Maybe not the dumbest guy to be in our government,....but close to the top.

Still trying to get Michelle to say "okay, if I must, but the millions you have promised me isn't enough, and I still want my own TV show".

From my perspective, in the past the vasculating in choice of a Dem VP was primarily prior to the choice. You have all the factions represented and backing the candidate in hope that their choice is picked. Because they keep playing these identity games and there is only one VP slot the moment the choice is made some percentage will be even less enthused.
Happens every time. :)

Biden is anxiously waiting for Obama to make the VP selection. In that respect Obama is bound to only pick someone who is going to allow Obama to be an undercover President.

As several others have posited, Biden isn't the one making the decision.
I'll go a step further, and say that they've likely decided that none of the "Frontrunning Five" will fly. If they had a valid veep, they'd have gotten her out for photo-op with Joe while he's still able to stand up. The delay means they're looking for someone else, without the baggage that all of their first tier carry.

Haven't seen Oprah's name put forward. If she was considered as a possible candidate for POTUS she could surely be the Veep nominee. Minus all the baggage that the rest of these lightweights are toting.

As much as I hate to say it, Michelle Obama would be a good choice politically. Unfortunately for "Ol´Joe," Michelle was sick and tired of living in the White House years ago. I doubt she´s too proud of America these days either, what with Trump getting things done and all.

We are all just whistling in the windstorm here. The winning choice is Michelle "My Belle" Obama. It would galvanize the Left and garner widespread support from the general Democrat population. We'll know in a couple of weeks. I can just hear the Washington Post and the NY Times singing praise for a choice like this telling their readers that the Biden has bridged the gaps of partisanship, overcome the worries of the faint hearted and made a choice that will ring in the pages of history for all time. Sound Good??? Take the bet. It will be Michelle.

Michelle Obama might have been playing coy all these years plotting her own presidency but I doubt it. I'm reading a book from a few years back about the First Ladies since Jackie Kennedy. The author makes it very clear Michelle did not enjoy her time in the WH and does not like politics. She currently lives like a queen.
