Seattle’s Chief of Police called on Seattle’s City Council to stand up against “mob rule” after “aggressive” activists reportedly targeted her home over the weekend, which scared her neighbors.“I wanted to update you on recent events, particularly those that occurred late last night,” Best wrote in a letter addressed to City Council President Lorena González and Public Safety Chair Lisa Herbold. “A residence of mine in Snohomish County was targeted by a large group of aggressive protestors late last night. My neighbors were concerned by such a large group,

I could understand civil disobedience in the face of an unpopular law. But there IS NO unpopular law. There are a bunch of thugs, ginned up by the Democrats to be lawless. Those same democrats are protecting these thugs FROM the law and endangering the people who, theoretically, voted them into office (isn't THAT ironic!?). When a society's law makers become law-breakers, it's up to the armed populace to organize and eliminate the problem by force, if necessary.

If you swore to support and defend the Constitution and carry out the laws as written, then stop hiding behind the city council and do your job. It doesn't matter what the city council and mayor want. If they say no tear gas, then shoot the violent rioters. Put it back on them that less lethal methods were forbidden. They can't stop you from clearing highways and city streets. There are laws on the books so enforce them.
Your citizens pay for police protection. Give them what they've paid for. You are not a security force for imported and homegrown agitators.

FTA the Chief of Police: "My neighbors were concerned by such a large group, but they were successful in ensuring the crowd was not able to trespass or engage in other illegal behavior in the area, despite repeated attempts to do so. Currently, the local sheriff (not SPD resources) is monitoring the situation.”"
Other illegal behavior!
Her neighbors were successful!
I don't get it. The COP can't enforce the law, but she assures everyone that the neighbors were able to? Why do we have police if they don't follow and enforce the law but submit their power (and they have a lot of it) to the whims of petty tyrants who don't have the law on their side?
Then she says this: "These direct actions against elected officials, and especially civil servants like myself, are out of line with and go against every democratic principle that guides our nation,”"
The elected officials and civil servants can miss me with caring about actions against them until they start ensuring the safety of the people they are there to protect. We're supposed to care about them more than they care about us. This sounds like an appeal to protect them over the people they represent. Why protect them? So they can not protect the citizens? And just who's going to protect them? The city council and their private security? Good grief!

Chief Best seemed to toe the party line for all those weeks - until they got to her and her ox was gored… Eventually domestic terorism hits everyone...

when will people understand that shooting these terrorists (not protesters) is the only way for you to remain safe. A couple hundred dead bodies will end this nonsense once and for all, since Democrats are, by nature, gutless cowards.

It''s all fine when regular folks face riots and thugs, but when the officials do, OOPS.

Maybe it's just my White Privilege again, but does anyone sense that the cities where the rioting is taking place have high numbers of bLACK police chiefs, prosecutors, mayors and council members? Not all - but many.
So what are the protestors demanding from them?

Chief Best has my sympathies. She was picked as a token by people more interested in appeasing than in policing. Will she be the next under the bus?
