What underlies the rage of the Democrat Party and of the leftist Democrat Establishment vis-à-vis President Donald Trump? Over forty years ago, during my high school years in Iran, my father and I had a conversation. He was an avid Republican, even though he lived on the other side of the world. Right before I prepared to leave Iran for the U.S., he gave me some fatherly advice. He explained why the Democrat Party was bad for America, bad for Iran, and bad for the world. He advised me that if I ever became a US citizen, I should never vote for Democrats. After all these years, I now understand what he meant by those words  of wisdom.

The 2020 time is the closest the Clock has been to midnight since 1953, when both the U.S. and the Soviet Union were testing hydrogen bombs. Rachel Bronson, president and CEO of the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, cited worsening nuclear and climate crises as the causes to inch the time forward.

Every hostile nickname that Mitch McConnell gets further confirms the Senate majority leader’s effectiveness. The latest is “Midnight Mitch,” a reaction to his resolution setting out the road map for the Senate impeachment trial. The measure stipulated that House impeachment managers could make their case over two days of 12-hour sessions, possibly pushing the presentations into the wee hours. Hence, the latest alliterative moniker for McConnell, also known to his enemies as “Moscow Mitch.” McConnell relented slightly on the resolution, giving the managers — and the president’s team — three days, instead of two, for opening arguments. But he still got his way

The Democrat House Managers for the Senate impeachment trial of President Trump have senators in “agony” and “bored out of their minds”, with many nodding off, walking around and even leaving the chamber for extended periods of time according to reports. The boredom was exacerbated by Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) forcing debates and votes on eleven doomed motions that dragged out Tuesday’s opening session until almost 2 a.m. EST. (Photo/Tweet) The boredom set in on the first day, Tuesday, and carried on in to Wednesday as Lead House Manager Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) droned on for hours.
End impeachment's government shutdown replies

We are facing an impeachment shutdown — the road-blocking of all our government’s institutions for an impeachment that is going nowhere. It will inflame passions, divide our country further and accomplish nothing of any significance. The cast is now complete with shady characters, wronged bureaucrats and impeachment prosecutors preening for their close-ups on national TV. As in 1998 and 1999, there is going to be a reckoning when this is all over. I helped to defend President Clinton when the country wasted time then on another impeachment that went nowhere. The president certainly was not innocent of all of the accusations, and he lost his law license and paid significant fines

President Trump’s personal attorney, Jay Sekulow, said Democrats are failing to present a coherent impeachment case. While speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Sekulow said Democrats have tried to deny the president his constitutional rights by dismissing executive privilege. The attorney stressed executive privilege is protected by Supreme Court decisions and added any attack against it amounts to an attack on the U.S. Constitution. (Tweet/Video) He went on to say Democrats are contradicting themselves and making irrelevant points while trying to present their case for impeachment.“Adam Schiff today talked about quid pro quo. Notice what’s not in the articles of impeachment: allegations or accusations of quid pro quos.

House Democrats launched into lengthy arguments that broke little ground, if any, in President Trump's impeachment trial Wednesday -- as the head impeachment manager, California Rep. Adam Schiff, suggested that Russians could attack the U.S. and insisted that removing Trump from office was necessary because the integrity of the 2020 election could not be "assured." Trump's lawyers sat by, waiting their turn, as the president blasted the proceedings from afar, threatening jokingly to face off with the Democrats by coming to "sit right in the front row and stare at their corrupt faces." The challenge before the House managers has been clear. Democrats were given 24 hours

Three American firefighters died in a water tanker plane crash Thursday while battling wildfires in Australia, New South Wales Premier Gladys Berejiklian confirmed. Rural Fire Service officials said they had located the plane, a C-130 Hercules, that crashed in the Snowy Monaro region of New South Wales state. Coulson Aviation in Oregon said in a statement that one of its C-130 Lockheed large air tankers was lost after it left Richmond in New South Wales with retardant for a firebombing mission. It said the accident was “extensive" but had few other details. "We are deeply saddened to confirm there were 3 fatalities," Coulson's statement said.

After a lifetime of being insulated from criticism, the Lemony Snicket character Carmelita Spats acts with unshakable confidence in her talent as a performing artist. Vicious and cruel, she subjects her victims to a twirling dance that ends with her signature sign off, “And my name is Carmelita!” Fans of A Series of Unfortunate Events—or anyone who recognizes the archetype of the “stage” child—might feel a twinge of déjà vu as Representative Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) demands the rigging of the Senate trial with rules that allowed his hippity-hoppity kangaroo proceeding in the House to reach its predetermined result—the impeachment of President Trump. Ugh! “Do we have to watch this?”

As he stood on the Senate floor at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Rep. Jerry Nadler declared that he and his colleagues “will now attempt to tell you the story” behind their impeachment charges. Immediately, hearts sank and televisions went dark across America. It was only Day Two of the Senate trial and already Democrats were repeating themselves. In fact, they were repeating their repetitions. What’s left to say? Not much, but that won’t stop them from saying it. Again and again and again. Nadler’s turn to put his audience to sleep followed three painful hours of listening to Rep. Adam Schiff plowing the same ground repeatedly,

With impeachment drawing headlines, and Bernie Sanders sucking all the air out of the room with socialist schemes, Joe Biden is back to making gaffes, except that in this age of fantastical impeachment charges and unreal socialist schemes, gaffes are just business as usual. Here are three idiocies from Biden this week, and this was just Tuesday: Former Vice President Joe Biden claimed on Tuesday that illegal immigrants in the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program are "more American than most Americans" because they had "done well in school."

Monty Python stars have led the tributes to their co-star Terry Jones, who has died at the age of 77. The Welsh actor and writer played a variety of characters in the iconic comedy group's Flying Circus TV series, and directed several of their films. He died on Tuesday, four years after contracting a rare form of dementia known as FTD. David Walliams and Simon Pegg were among other comedians who remembered him. Fellow Python star Sir Michael Palin described Jones as "one of the funniest writer-performers of his generation". In a tweet, John Cleese said he was "a man of so many talents and such endless enthusiasm".

He wasn’t giving up his dough without a fight. A pizza delivery worker in North Carolina shot three goons who he says tried to rob him while he was on the job, according to a report. The chaotic incident unfolded late Monday outside an apartment complex in the city of Charlotte, WSOC-TV reported. Police say the delivery guy was dropping off pizza to the building when he was ambushed by four people — who allegedly aimed what he believed to be a rifle at his head, according to the outlet. But the pie courier pulled out his own pistol and opened fire, striking three of them.
