Schiff manages bipartisan consensus at trial

Just like House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, House Intelligence Committee chair Adam Schiff seems to possess an innate talent for inspiring bipartisan unity among Republicans and Democrats. Case in point: As he rambled on and on about President Donald Trump’s alleged guilt during the second day of the president’s Senate trial Wednesday, both Republicans and Democrats reportedly joined together in dying of utter boredom. [Tweet] According to The Washington Post, Sen. Rand Paul felt so bored that he desperately scribbled “S.O.S.” (which is a Morse code distress signal) on a piece of paper. He followed up the “S.O.S.” with “THESE R NOT MY PARENTS!”

The smartest thing the Defense team could do if they are pushed into Saturday is to tell the Senate all they need is 16 hours to present their side and let everybody go home for the weekend. Start fresh Monday

^^ 16 hours? How about 6? The Republicans need to keep their presentation short and to the point. Point out that witness testimony can’t change the fact that what the Democrats are claiming does not involve any impeachable offenses. And then vote.

Lead impeachment manager Rep. Adam Schiff left several Republican senators incensed in the closing moments of the third and final day of the Democrats' opening arguments. Schiff, who received plaudits from Democrats and Republicans alike for his delivery in the first couple days of the Senate impeachment trial against President Trump, stirred outrage Friday evening when he repeated a CBS News report citing an unnamed Trump source who said GOP senators were warned not to vote against the commander in chief. "CBS News reported last night that a Trump confidant said that GOP senators were warned ... 'vote against the president and your head will be on a pike,'"

Mexican security forces and immigration agents put hundreds of Central Americans who crossed into the country early Thursday on buses to be processed and possibly sent back to their home countries amid a wave of migrants passing through in an effort to reach the United States. The national guardsmen, dressed in riot gear, advanced on migrants who were stopped at a crossroads, prompting the migrants to kneel and chant "we want to pass." Authorities awaited the caravan outside the community of Frontera Hidalgo, near Ciudad Hidalgo, where the migrants had crossed the Suchiate River at dawn

Lindsey Graham is back to the firey persona we came to love during the Kavanaugh hearings that earned him the nickname Lindsey 2.0. In a press conference on Wednesday, Graham went nuclear on Democrats and their complicit stooges in the mainstream press. It was a beautiful thing. In response to Chuck Schumer demanding that executive privilege be waived to force key members of the president's staff—like former National Security Adviser John Bolton, current acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney, and others—to testify, Graham stated that the president should not comply, agreeing with Trump, who has directed them to refuse to testify. "Here's what I saw yesterday," said Graham.

Lead House Manager Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) made a ‘pitch for the angels’ in his Thursday night closing statement at the Senate impeachment trial of President Trump, working himself into an Oscar worthy teary-eyed meltdown as he warned senators what Trump might do to win re-election if he was not removed from office even if they decide he is guilty. Schiff repeatedly said Trump is “dangerous”. Schiff said Trump should be removed because he chose to work with former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, a former top federal prosecutor and crime fighting mayor, for help on Ukraine corruption rather than the FBI or the intelligence agencies

The clip shows a passenger holding their presumably wet sneaker up to their overhead air vent to dry them out. It’s unknown on which airline the barbaric incident occurred, captured on video by Canadian professional wakeboarder Dylan Miller. Lead House impeachment manager Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) closed the second day of opening arguments in President Donald Trump’s Senate impeachment trial on Thursday by attacking the president’s personal character. “Nobody is really making the argument, ‘Donald Trump would never do such a thing!'” Schiff argued on the floor of the Senate, after 10 p.m. ET. “Because of course we know that he would, and of course we know that he did.” Schiff’s use of character attacks would ordinarily have been barred by the rules of evidence, if the Senate were in fact a court of law. Attorneys are prohibited from attempting to prove guilt by attacking the character of the defendant.

Portraits of Barack and Michelle Obama will tour the nation from June 2021 through May 2022 so more people can make the “pilgrimage” to see them. Artists Kehinde Wiley and Amy Sherald are the first black artists ever included in the National Portrait Gallery’s (NPG) official roster of presidential portraits. Their work has proven extremely popular, to the point of National Portrait Gallery director Kim Sajet characterizing visits to see them as a sort of “pilgrimage.” In a 2019 article for The Atlantic, Sajet wrote: “Viewing these paintings was turning into a form of secular pilgrimage, and the museum was becoming even more popular as a communal gathering place.”

It’s a Capitol Hill cold war. A chilly silence has enveloped the Capitol — with senators on either side of the political aisle telling The Post there has been very little communication between Democrats and Republicans behind closed doors during President Trump’s impeachment trial. Delaware Sen. Chris Coons, a Democrat, lamented that the parties appeared entrenched in their two camps and said there had been “strikingly little” late-night texts or phone calls to debate calling additional witnesses or introducing new documents as evidence. “I understand that on the floor we’ve got, you know, TV cameras and the attention of our wonderful press corps, but my colleagues know how to reach out,”

One of President Donald Trump’s strongest supporters on cable news and Capitol Hill was surprisingly excluded from his impeachment defense team — and he has suspicions as to why. Rep. In an interview with Politico, Gaetz said he wasn’t entirely sure why he was kept off the team, but he has been told by someone in the White House that Eric Ueland, the legislative affairs director, was “responsible for the brushback.”

President Trump on Friday becomes the first U.S. President to attend the annual March for Life in Washington, D.C., a march he previously addressed via video, a march sure to be ignored by the lamestream media or downplayed as a gathering of white supremacists. It reflects his belief that every human life begins at conception and is a gift from God and reflects the fear, an unspoken motive for impeachment, that Trump will get to appoint more Supreme Court justices forming a majority to overturn the wrongly decided Roe V. Wade, another SCOTUS decision which, like Dred Scott, declared an entire class of people as less than human.

As the drama of Harry and Meghan unfolds, it becomes ever clearer that Harry is not a figure of tragedy, but of self-interested hypocrisy. The prince is not only dull, but the cause of dullness in others, more a figure of betrayal than of sacrifice. The psycho-drama of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex is one of spoiled individuals shedding crocodile tears over their fate. In his final speech on January 18, 2020 in London, Harry delivered what was in essence an address about himself, mentioning as always the impact of his mother Diana on him but never mentioning his father, Prince Charles, who has been financing him.
