The Department of Labor rule is widely seen by Republicans as part of the Biden administration’s push to inject "woke" ideology into all aspects of government. Under the rule, fiduciaries who make investment decisions for the retirement plans of more than 150 million people would be explicitly permitted under federal guidelines to consider companies’ approach to climate change and other social issues, instead of focusing on only profitability and return on investment for retirees.

Approximately 500,000 Mexicans gathered at Mexico City’s Zócalo Square on Sunday to peacefully protest the “Plan B” electoral reform law spearheaded by far-left Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador that would severely reduce the power and reach of the country’s independent election oversight committee, the National Electoral Institute (INE). The INE is considered one of the most effective bodies of its kind in executing elections and protecting the integrity of the vote. The INE ensures campaigns follow election rules, issues identification cards for voters, and ensures that elections are held freely and fairly.

The world having gone absolutely insane, the Mid Vermont Christian School (MVCS) girls’ basketball team is likely to get a lot of heat for this, but in a sane world, they would be the heroes of the story. The team, which is known as the Eagles and has lived up to the nobility and heroism of their name, has withdrawn from Vermont’s Division IV state tournament rather than play against a team that features a male basketball player who says he is a woman. If this young man claimed to be an eagle or an aardvark or a garden slug, he would be receiving psychiatric help at this time

After failing to orchestrate a federal takeover of state election administration two years ago, Democrats are back with their newest strategy to seize control of America’s electoral process. In blue state legislatures, leftists are working to advance election bills that seek to dramatically overhaul state elections by enshrining Democrat-backed voting practices into law. The widespread effort is an attempt to implement national Democrats’ HR 1 policies in states across the country

The White House announced on Monday that it was giving federal agencies 30 days to remove TikTok from all government-issued devices. Monday's move arrives as the popular Chinese-owned social media app faces increased scrutiny in Washington and in states across the country over security concerns – with critics claiming that the Chinese government could use TikTok to gain access to private user data or spread misinformation. TikTok is already not allowed on White House devices – and some other federal agencies, including the Department of Defense and Department of Homeland Security, also have similar restrictions in place.

Leonard Downie Jr., the former executive editor of The Washington Post and professor at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University, recently attempted to make a case against objectivity in the pages of the Washington Post. You read that correctly, a senior newsman is now against objectivity. His January 30 piece launches as follows:  “…Increasingly, reporters, editors, and media critics argue that the concept of journalistic objectivity is a distortion of reality.

A Miami judge declined to block Florida’s 15-week abortion ban, HB 5, on Friday in a lawsuit brought by clergy members of several different faiths. The clergy members — three rabbis, a Unitarian Universalist minister, an Episcopal Church priest, a Buddhist lama, and a United Church of Christ reverend — filed separate lawsuits against the State of Florida in August claiming that the law violates their rights to freedom of speech and freedom of religion. Those lawsuits have since been consolidated into one case. The clergy members argue in their complaint that the law puts them “at risk of prosecution for counseling women, girls, and families to obtain an abortion

This disinformation business sure has gotten complicated lately. In the past few days, a key federal agency concluded that COVID was likely the result of a Chinese lab leak. A prestigious medical journal reported that natural immunity is better than vaccines against COVID. Another that mask mandates were worthless. And President Joe Biden’s advanced age is now, according to Biden, a legitimate issue. All of these claims had been labeled as “disinformation” by the mainstream press, by “independent” fact-checkers, by social media platforms. Anyone who espoused them was attacked as a crazy anti-vaxxer, 4Chan racist, Russian stooge

The judge overseeing the Georgia special grand jury weighed in on the crazy forewoman who went on a media tour last week. To be clear, the Georgia special grand jury cannot bring any indictments, they can only recommend indictments and District Attorney Fanni Willis would then have to pursue the case. Fulton County judge Robert C. McBurney recently ordered parts of the grand jury report in the garbage Trump 2020 election investigation to be released as the prosecutor considers charges against Trump and his allies. The grand jury concluded that “one or more witnesses” lied under oath and recommended perjury indictments.

Far-left Washington Post columnist Dana Milbank is openly admitting he doesn’t want all the footage from the mostly peaceful January 6 protest at the U.S. Capitol to be released to the public. I applaud his honesty. Naturally, his motives are oh-so honorable and patriotic. He says the truth must be withheld from the American people for — wait for it, wait for it — national security reasons! (Tweet/Video) Milbank made his comments on MSNBC’s Politics Nation with Al Sharpton on Sunday, where he and Michael Steele discussed the released footage with Sharpton: Milbank Transcript: [Releasing all the January 6 footage] is another one of the promises [Republican House Speaker

A pastor used the power of prayer to stop a potential armed robbery and shooting by four suspects who were sitting in the pews of his church. Pastor Marquaello Futrell, who previously worked in law enforcement as a St. Louis police officer, was in the middle of his Sunday service earlier this month at All Creation Northview Holiness Family Church in Ferguson, Missouri when he saw four men in masks walk into the house of worship. Noticing they had guns in their waistbands, Pastor Futrell's prayers crossed paths with his policing instincts as he used the power of divine intervention to prevent

March can’t come soon enough for ratings-challenged CNN. The long-struggling network is on pace to finish February with its smallest monthly audience among the advertiser-coveted demographic of adults age 25-54 since June 2014. "Anderson Cooper 360," "The Lead with Jake Tapper" and Wolf Blitzer’s "Situation Room" are on pace to their smallest audiences since that same month among the critical demo, while "Inside Politics" is on pace for its least-viewed month among the category since August 2005. "CNN This Morning," the Don Lemon-centered a.m. show that has generated a ton of negative publicity, is on pace to finish February with its smallest monthly audience

The Club for Growth, a leading conservative campaign group, will host a donor retreat in Palm Beach, Florida this weekend. Most of the 2024 potential or declared Republican candidates are invited and will be there, all except for one noticeable exception – Donald Trump. Though the retreat will be held near Mar-a-Lago, Trump is not invited. He and the group had a falling out during the 2022 midterm cycle and apparently that has not been repaired. Trump has worked with the Club for Growth in the past. However, the two found themselves at odds during the 2022 midterm elections on candidate endorsements. And, Trump was angry about the group’s publishing

On Sunday night, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis appeared on “Life, Liberty, and Levin” on Fox News, purportedly to promote his new book, The Courage to Be Free, which comes out this week. While DeSantis has not yet declared that he’s running for president, he certainly sounded like a man who’s making the case for his candidacy. Or, if not, he’s making a case for conservatism as the path to American success and prosperity— the subtitle of the book is “Florida’s Blueprint for America’s Revival.” As my colleague Stephen Green pointed out earlier today: DeSantis isn’t traveling to early presidential primary states like Iowa or New Hamphire, at least not yet. Instead,
