Newly reelected Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, whose 19-point victory over Democrat Charlie Crist surprised him and most of the political establishment, said that a Republican should be able to repeat his win on the national stage if they follow his model of ignoring polls and governing with their gut. In his campaign-style autobiography, The Courage to be Free, DeSantis wrote, “From day one, I was fully prepared to let the political chips fall where they may. That we not only succeeded electorally, but did so in dramatic fashion, demonstrates that doing good policy can lead to good politics.”The Republican, who won with the biggest margin in Florida in a generation, added,

That’s not quite what DeSantis said, but what he did say was a little simplistic. The last President who won by that kind of margin was Ronald Reagan running for his second term (1984), and the situation was very different then (as was Democrat skill at cheating).

Trump has won two national elections. DeSantis none so far. The ‘landslide’ in Florida occurred because Florida has anti cheating laws which HE signed and implemented. Trump had an excellent margins in Florida too. I would be careful before bragging about the other 49.

Poster #6 is right! I seriously doubt other states will adopt Florida's election laws between now and 2024. Yes, even Ron DeSantis would beat the hell outta beijing, bidet biden. President Trump surely did in 2020, and those who refuse to see that fact, well you must be listening to the lyin' enemedia too much.

As a Texan, sadly, DeSantis is sounding more and more like George W. Bush by the day!!! Think about it. DeSantis is the governor of what has become a solidly conservative Republican state. After a close first win, he won by a large margin in his re-election. He has a solid Republican legislature that gives him exactly what he wants as far as legislation. He has a media in Florida that basically supports him for the most part. He says and does what he needs to do to appear as a strong leader. Sadly, that describes George W. Bush pretty much to a "T" when he was governor of Texas. But when he was elected president, he quickly discovered the mass opposition of not only the Demon-Rats but also some of the DC sewer dwelling Republi-Can'ts too. He also discovered what it was like to be ranked only slightly above Hitler and Stalin by the mainstream media, and to be attacked by them constantly. And Bush did what so many Republicans before him had done, he folded like a wet noodle and spent his administration trying to "play nice" with all his political enemies. I do believe that DeSantis is a stronger man than Bush ever was. But he has not truly tasted governing in the hostile and evil environment the the DC sewer. And the more I see him saying unrealistic things like this, I worry that he may very well be the next Bush. God, I pray that I am wrong.

# 8, Ron DeSantis is my governor and I "love him to death", as some folks like to say. And you are right to point out that he has a relatively easy ride with a Republican legislature. But please, don't suggest that he is another George W. The Bushes were and are bluebloods, cut from a different cloth in a different era. They were decent men who were not up to the political challenges posed by the radical left and their media lapdogs. Governor Ron understands his opponents. Frankly, I hope he chooses not to run and stays here in Florida. But if he goes for the brass ring he's got the tough skin and the moxie to cope with what will be in store for him.

We reported Wednesday on how CNN’s Daniel Dale, who we’ve been told is the resident “fact checker” for the failing network, was told to “f*** off” after he sought comment from Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s office following a tweet in which she blamed Joe Biden for the fentanyl poisoning deaths of two brothers who died under the Trump administration. To recap, as you’ll see from the tweet below, Greene wrongly attributed their deaths to Biden’s lax southern border policies, but in the video she included, she spoke to the mother of the victims, Rebecca Kiessling, during a hearing this week and told her that “our government” must do more

Capitalism, not trapped atmospheric heat, is her real target. In line with her values, she is now protesting a wind farm in Norway because it endangers the traditional hunting grounds of the native Sami people. (Yes, Europe has

In a remarkable interview last Friday, ABC News anchor David Muir pulled back the curtain to reveal a President Joe Biden who seemed disconnected with the political reality swirling around him and his White House. Here was a commander in chief unable to remember whether he had spoken with the mayor of a small Ohio town experiencing one of the worst chemical accidents in recent memory, a catastrophic train derailment that had dominated the news for three weeks. Muir simply asked the president if he had talked with the mayor of East Palestine. Biden responded: “I can’t recall that I. I don’t think I’ve talked to the mayor.

For two years, the Democrats have insisted that, on Jan. 6, 2021, the republic was shaken to its foundations by an “insurrection” mounted by wild-eyed MAGA extremists. They attempted to reinforce this claim with a series of hyper-partisan hearings, complete with video edited for dramatic effect by a professional television producer. This left most of the footage captured by Capitol surveillance cameras on the cutting room floor, and the Democrats refused to release any of the unused video to the public. Thus, after the midterms, Kevin McCarthy pledged to make it public if elected speaker of the House. He kept his word, and the Democrats are clearly alarmed.

Until a couple of decades ago, voting in the United States was a straightforward exercise that required registered voters to appear at local polling places on Election Day and cast their ballots in person. A small number were permitted to vote absentee if they were stationed overseas in the military or could show that they were otherwise unable to get to the polls. This system, with minor variations, was used in all 50 states and revealed the winners of most elections with alacrity. Though not perfect, it was generally efficient, secure, and trusted by the vast majority of voters.
