Hidden from ordinary Russians, Vladimir Putin and his gymnast lover Alina Kabaeva live like a tsar and tsarina with their children, a new investigation claims. The report by the Proekt independent media group reveals their secret life at a forest palace in Valdai, where Kabaeva had her own luxury 'wooden mansion', 250 miles north-west of Moscow. The children are 'underage' - which is why Proekt has not disclosed information about the possible heirs of the Russian president, including their number and gender. 'However, we will tell you where they are hiding,' the publication says.

President Joe Biden revealed Tuesday that he will pitch raising taxes when he releases a proposed budget on March 9, but insists he will stick to his campaign promise not to hike taxes on Americans making less than $400,000 a year. Biden made the remarks during his trip Tuesday to Virginia Beach, Virginia, in a speech that was mainly dedicated to defending the Affordable Care Act and Medicaid against Republican cuts. 'I want to make it clear, I'm gonna raise some taxes,' Biden said in the speech. 'Many of you are billionaires out there. You're going to stop paying at 3 percent.'

In the 1960s, 90% of murders were solved. That fell to 75% in 1980, and 60% in 2000. In the year of Black Lives Matter, the homicide clearance rate fell so low that it became a ‘coin flip’. The media reported that only 50% of murders were being solved. What was less reported was that this mainly reflected a drop in solving black murders. Homicide clearance rates for white people have actually improved since the 1980s and reached a high during the Obama administration even as black homicide clearance rates dropped catastrophically. In the 70s, 80% of the murders of black people were solved. Under Obama, only 60% were.

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot, a Democrat, lost her re-election bid Monday night, and critics are celebrating the end of her term. Under Lightfoot, Chicago has seen soaring crime rates, which became a theme of her opponents' criticism. In 2021, homicides in Chicago rose to their highest numbers in 25 years, outpacing other crime-ridden cities like New York City and Los Angeles. Throughout her tenure, the mayor has been blasted for her poor relationship with law enforcement, as the city's police department lost a significant number of officers in recent years amid the rise in crime.

Happy Wednesday, dear Kruiser Morning Briefing friends. (Snip) We don’t often pay attention to municipal elections around the country here, but what happened in Chicago last night was just too entertaining. Paula covered the news: "Polls have closed in Chicago and incumbent Mayor Lori Lightfoot lost her reelection bid on Tuesday. Lightfoot was among a field of eight candidates hoping to lead the beleaguered Windy City. At the time of this writing, Paul Vallas—a former head of schools in Chicago, Philadelphia, and New Orleans—leads the pack with 34.6% of the vote (see below for the current tally). Cook County Commissioner Brandon Johnson is in second, with 20.23%,

For years, Democrats have spread the message that America is irredeemable, that our original sin defines our present and the future is dependent on our faith in government — not in each other. I was born in 1965, two years after Dr. King said, “I Have a Dream,” and I am living proof that American dreams do come true. My mom spent her teenage years surrounded by segregation. My granddaddy, her father, had to step off the sidewalk to let white folks pass. He had to drop out of school in the third grade to pick cotton. When I was a kid, I remember granddaddy would

President Joe Biden's diplomats are negotiating a treaty with the World Health Organization to promote so-called global health equity. The premise is that in a pandemic or other worldwide disease emergency, Americans should not get better or faster health care than inhabitants of third-world countries. (Snip) Under the draft treaty, presented in Geneva on Feb. 1, the U.S. will be obligated to hand over a whopping 20% of its medical supplies, including diagnostic tests, antiviral medications and vaccines, to WHO for global distribution. In April 1977, under the dark cloud of the energy crisis, President Jimmy Carter told the nation that the difficult effort needed to move beyond the shortages and high prices of that era “will be the moral equivalent of war.” Carter didn’t directly recommend rationing, but it’s clear he wanted Americans to make sacrifices. Nearly a half century later, there’s another “crisis” that requires sacrifice: We must save ourselves from global warming. “World War II-style rationing,” reports PhysOrg, “could be an effective way to reduce carbon emissions, according to new research from the University of Leeds.” It’s not the first time climate alarmists

The data provided on the website is designed to encourage some defiant state election officials to comply with the National Voter Registration Act of 1993 (NVRA). “We hope this interactive database will draw attention to the hundreds of thousands of errors in the voter rolls.

He just goes about his business. He doesn’t do crazy stuff. But then, when he wants to throw red meat to the base, he’s a performance artist. And he does a lot of really outrageous stuff.
