We’re living in perilous times; the planet is plagued by primary problems. Fortunately, at least one American lawmaker is majoring in the majors.Florida state Senator Lauren Book recently surveyed the nation and noticed a pressing need. So she upheld her promise as a public servant and went to work whacking at it. Excerpted from Section One of Democrat Lauren’s February 17th “animal welfare” bill: A person may not…allow a dog to extend its head or any other body part outside a motor vehicle window while the person is operating the motor vehicle on a public roadway.

My sweet little 20 lbs. dog of a mixed and various heritage wouldn't harm a fly but I wouldn't blame him if he bit anyone who seriously suggests that he not stick his head out of the window. I was told once that to a dog, all the scents that they process outside of a car window is like a thrill ride at the amusement park for us.

That Democrat will probably find out that he will not benefit politically by taking on dog owners! Beyond politics I have always had dogs in my household and know that is not good for dog’s health to stick their heads out of a moving motor vehicle, as a dog could end up getting hit in an eye by some small object that is flying through the air, like small rock thrown up by a tire, that besides hurting the dog would serve to generate a very big veterinary bill.

Dogs enjoy putting their snouts in the wind. Most people look and smile when they see that. If Democrats could figure a way to tax such activity, they would. Well, my dog, a maltese, likes sitting on a thick baby seat with her nose out the window. Oh, her tail always forms a tight curl over her back, said to show gay proclivities. But we are an inclusive family, so we don't force her to wear lace and ruffles on her dog shirts.

Whenever I see a dog enjoying a ride in a vehicle, it makes me smile. You can see how happy they are. So now the Nanny State wants to take the dogs' (and ours) happiness away, because they know what's best. Perhaps one of the reasons dogs are so happy and beloved is because they are not subjected to such human nonsense. It's bad enough that people want to have large muscular dogs confined to their city apartment. It's bad enough to dress up your dog in human costumes so they can be laughed at. So - now they want to take away a dog's traveling pleasure. Such people do not deserve dogs. They can pamper and coddle their stuffed toys and animals, but leave our beloved pets alone!

Biden’s roller coaster of catastrophes 3 replies

In a remarkable interview last Friday, ABC News anchor David Muir pulled back the curtain to reveal a President Joe Biden who seemed disconnected with the political reality swirling around him and his White House. Here was a commander in chief unable to remember whether he had spoken with the mayor of a small Ohio town experiencing one of the worst chemical accidents in recent memory, a catastrophic train derailment that had dominated the news for three weeks. Muir simply asked the president if he had talked with the mayor of East Palestine. Biden responded: “I can’t recall that I. I don’t think I’ve talked to the mayor.

I’d speculate that Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) ate his Wheaties Wednesday morning, but it appears, instead, that his breakfast consisted of Attorney General Merrick Garland, who is testifying before the Senate Judiciary Committee as I write this. While questioning the AG about prosecutions brought under 18 U.S. Code § 1507, which prohibits picketing or parading in or near a court or judge’s residence with the intent of obstructing justice or influencing a judge, juror, or other court officer, Cruz lit into Garland and refused to let him weasel out of answering what should have been a simple yes-or-no question. Newly reelected Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, whose 19-point victory over Democrat Charlie Crist surprised him and most of the political establishment, said that a Republican should be able to repeat his win on the national stage if they follow his model of ignoring polls and governing with their gut. In his campaign-style autobiography, The Courage to be Free, DeSantis wrote, “From day one, I was fully prepared to let the political chips fall where they may. That we not only succeeded electorally, but did so in dramatic fashion, demonstrates that doing good policy can lead to good politics.”The Republican, who won with the biggest margin in Florida in a generation, added,

Why J6 Transparency Frightens the Democrats 22 replies

For two years, the Democrats have insisted that, on Jan. 6, 2021, the republic was shaken to its foundations by an “insurrection” mounted by wild-eyed MAGA extremists. They attempted to reinforce this claim with a series of hyper-partisan hearings, complete with video edited for dramatic effect by a professional television producer. This left most of the footage captured by Capitol surveillance cameras on the cutting room floor, and the Democrats refused to release any of the unused video to the public. Thus, after the midterms, Kevin McCarthy pledged to make it public if elected speaker of the House. He kept his word, and the Democrats are clearly alarmed.

Until a couple of decades ago, voting in the United States was a straightforward exercise that required registered voters to appear at local polling places on Election Day and cast their ballots in person. A small number were permitted to vote absentee if they were stationed overseas in the military or could show that they were otherwise unable to get to the polls. This system, with minor variations, was used in all 50 states and revealed the winners of most elections with alacrity. Though not perfect, it was generally efficient, secure, and trusted by the vast majority of voters.

Social Security and Medicare are on an “unsustainable course” and will run out of funds by 2037. That’s the conclusion reached by the General Accountability Office (GAO) and the Social Security Administration. There is no saving these programs without massive changes. And demagoguing the issue, as Joe Biden and the Democrats are doing, only delays the day of reckoning. To pretend these programs don’t need intervention now — right now — is to play with dynamite. The sooner we can get started, the less pain will be inflicted on senior citizens. Pain there will be. In order to put these programs on the path to long-term viability, it will take political courage

We now have the most authoritative estimate of the value provided by wearing masks during the pandemic: approximately zero. The most rigorous and extensive review of the scientific literature concludes that neither surgical masks nor N95 masks have been shown to make a difference in reducing the spread of Covid-19 and other respiratory illnesses. This verdict ought to be the death knell for mask mandates, but that would require the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the rest of the public-health establishment to forsake “the science”—and unfortunately, these leaders and their acolytes in the media seem as determined as ever to ignore actual science.

The bill, introduced last month, would establish a People’s Housing Assistance Fund Demonstration Program to give 12 monthly thousand-dollar payments to those suffering from homelessness or who are on the brink of becoming homeless. “Payments may be used for rent, emergency expenses, food, child care or other goods or services of the participant’s choosing,” the bill states. People who spend more than 50 percent of their monthly household income on rent, and those who earn 60% or less of the area median income would also be eligible for the funding.

Biden applied it to all students regardless of their contributions to the US military.
