RedState brought you the story last week of how between 20-30 armed FBI agents showed up early on the morning of September 23 at Catholic activist Mark Houck’s home, pounding relentlessly against the door until he opened it, flashing semi-automatic weapons at his wife and seven children, then taking him away—handcuffed with a belly-chain—while his terrorized, screaming family cried in the background. His crime? He allegedly shoved a man who was verbally abusing his 12-year-old son and getting up into his face. What in the world is going on here? We all know that you can throw someone in front of a moving subway car

The politicization of the FBI is being implemented by the promotion of liberal agents into positions of authority and the punishment or dismissal of agents who support conservative causes, FBI insiders told The Washington Times.
They said this institutionalizes a liberal bias in the upper ranks of the nation’s premier law enforcement agency.
In one high-profile example, an FBI agent on duty demonstrated solidarity with Black Lives Matter marchers in Washington by “taking a knee” as the protesters passed. The agent was rewarded with a promotion to a supervisor rank.

If good fences make good neighbors, then surely, well armed citizens make for good manners. Just as respect for another's privacy and personal boundaries paradoxically creates common bonds, the expectation that those around us are capable of standing up for themselves, or defending their own lives if necessary, establishes an equality among strangers otherwise possessing vastly different natural strengths. The "woke" victimhood cult dedicated to confiscating guns steadily ignores this point.

Hundreds of Homeland Security employees were paid unemployment benefits during the coronavirus pandemic despite staying on the job, the department’s inspector general revealed Thursday. Even worse, the Department of fHomeland Security paid some of the money itself under an emergency unemployment program that the Trump administration “hastily” created in 2020, investigators said. That meant the department was making bogus payments to its employees.

Hurricane Ian destroyed a section of the Sanibel Causeway connecting Sanibel Island and Captiva with mainland Florida, preventing all access for ground vehicles. The Biden administration has quietly announced a change in their student debt forgiveness program that could exclude four million borrowers who have loans owned or backed by private companies
The u-turn by the federal government comes after the first legal challenges were filed and following criticism of the huge costs to taxpayers and claims the plan is an illegal use of his executive power.
The Education Department announced Thursday that privately-held federal loans won't qualify for the relief plan, which the Congressional Budget Office said earlier this week could cost $400billion over a decade.

In an 72-25 vote, the Senate passed a funding measure meant to keep the government afloat until December 16. Gross Domestic Product contracted by 1.6 percent in the first three months of 2022 and by 0.6 percent in the April through June quarter, meaning the economy shrank for two consecutive quarters.
Those who argued that the economy was not actually in a recession could point to the low unemployment rate and a measure of the economy known as Gross Domestic Income, which had been reported as growing 1.8 percent in the first quarter and 1.4 percent in the second quarter.

The opposition was stubborn. And President Biden, frustrated. So, he started the year with a simple question: “What are Republicans for? What are they for?” Biden asked reporters at a January press conference. “Name me one thing they are for.”

They have written a comprehensive policy memo, called the “Family Policy Agenda” and first obtained by RealClearPolitics, which includes over 80 specific recommendations that they will try to make law if the GOP wins control of Congress.

Same day, different gaffe. This time, President Joe Biden – the leader of the free world – led a White House event on hunger and nutrition, during which he was meant to say a few words honoring Rep. Jackie Walorski (R-Ind.). And he did, as reported by RedState’s Sister Toldjah.During the event, Biden was giving a speech and apparently, his notes (or the teleprompter) told him to make sure to honor former Rep. Jackie Walorski (R-Ind.), who was the co-chair of the House Hunger Caucus. The problem, however, came when Biden asked “Jackie, are you here? Where’s Jackie?” and looked around the room for the Congresswoman…The problem in question is that Jackie Walorski, sadly, is dead.

LEE COUNTY, Fla. — The morning after Hurricane Ian made landfall in Florida brought with it grim news.
“We have fatalities in the hundreds,” said Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno on “Good Morning America,” according to Fox News. GMA reported that Marceno does not yet have an exact number. Florida Emergency Management has not yet issued a formal announcement on injuries or lives lost during the storm.
“This is a life-changing event for all of us. We tracked that storm up the coast of Florida. It was very unpredictable,” Marceno said, according to GMA.

This isn’t just Meta, it’s also meta. Chinese operatives playing lefties accusing Republicans of working for Russia. This is why international espionage makes for very strange bedfellows.
Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, said on Tuesday that it had discovered and taken down what it described as the first targeted Chinese campaign to interfere in U.S. politics ahead of the midterm elections in November.
The Chinese appeared to be borrowing the Russian playbook, cosplaying as liberals and conservatives, and claiming to care about abortion and guns. In China, the government controls all the guns and the abortions are mandatory.
But the interesting thing about the Chinese campaign is the seeming

A pro-life sidewalk counseling group warned members Tuesday that President Joe Biden’s Justice Department is determined to intimidate pro-life organizations, claiming that two FBI agents showed up to question a pro-life activist praying outside Planned Parenthood – St. Paul – Vandalia Health Center.
In an email obtained by The Daily Signal, Pro-Life Action Ministries Executive Director Brian Gibson put members on high alert about “a new effort by the Biden Justice Department to intimidate us all from the important work we do to save lives.”
“We have had a couple recent incidents locally in which a sidewalk counselor or prayer supporter had a physical altercation on the sidewalk,” Gibson told members

The European Union, no bastion of political tolerance to begin with, is letting it be known: It will not tolerate conservative parties sweeping into power among its members. Good luck with that. With each new national election the EU’s power looks weaker and weaker.
The latest example of this come from Italy’s Giorgia Meloni, a passionate partisan of God, family, culture, and life, whose right-leaning coalition won Italy’s national election in a landslide, despite threats from the EU.
“If things go in a difficult direction, I’ve spoken about Hungary and Poland, we have tools,” European Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen said, in what can only be called a threat.

A prominent billionaire investor said the U.S. faces a debt crisis during a discussion at CNBC’s Delivering Alpha conference.
“We’re — we’re in deep trouble. So everything I said at those colleges is worse in terms of the metrics, except for one thing. And what I miscalculated was I didn’t calculate zero rates, I used 4 percent rates,” Stanley Druckenmiller, who founded Duquesne Capital Management and ran it until August 2010.

Happy Thursday, dear Kruiser Morning Briefing friends. Clement always felt that his alt-ceviche recipe was underappreciated by the other members of the Poughkeepsie Mr. Belvedere Preservation Society. Democrats have long harbored the illusion that they can control the weather and I may be starting to believe them. Joe Biden and his evil puppet masters sure are good at making dark clouds appear on the horizon. We began the month here at the Briefing by pondering whether the Republic could survive a rogue Department of Justice. After all, when the people who are supposed to protect the people aren’t operating under any moral code, justice is the first casualty. CORRECTION*

Since my foray into politics, I have come to understand that our system comprises insiders and outsiders and that Donald Trump was the consummate outsider. He was opposed by the system on both sides of the political aisle. Admittedly, I counted myself amongst the opposition. It was only when faced with a choice of yet another Clinton, whom we were told held a 95% chance of victory, that I felt a throw-away vote for Trump was in order. To my surprise, the b@st@rd actually won. He wasn’t supposed to win.

A non-governmental organization (NGO), with financial links to billionaire George Soros, has won a $41 million federal contract from President Joe Biden’s Department of Justice (DOJ) to help illegal aliens evade deportation from the United States.
The Acacia Center for Justice, an NGO with financial ties to the Soros-linked Vera Institute of Justice, scored a contract from Biden’s DOJ to provide “legal services” to border crossers and illegal aliens after they are released into the U.S. interior in the hopes of staying permanently.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s husband, Perry Greene, has filed for a divorce.
The congresswoman and her husband had been married for over 27 years.
Business Insider reports that “in his petition, Perry Greene wrote that he and the congresswoman had been in a ‘bona-fide state of separation’ before he filed the papers in Floyd County, Georgia.”
The filing also said that the marriage is “irretrievably broken.”

Thirty former FBI agents, including a retired deputy assistant director, head of counterterrorism and five SWAT team members, have spoken out publicly in support of suspended FBI whistleblower Stephen Friend.
Their heartfelt messages, obtained exclusively by The Post, show a deep and widespread anguish about the politicization of the FBI.
“It’s time to stop the FBI from being the enforcer of a political party’s ideology,” says Ernie Tibaldi, a retired agent from San Francisco. “We need to reestablish the FBI as the apolitical and independent law enforcement entity that it always was.”

Republican Mehmet Oz has further put himself within striking distance of his Democrat opponent in the Pennsylvania U.S. Senate race, with the latest Fox News poll showing he trails by just four points.
Surveying 1,008 registered Pennsylvania voters between September 22-26 with a margin of error of plus or minus three percentage points, the new poll puts Fetterman at 45 percent while Oz stands at 41 percent, a full four points within the sampling error and a tremendous surge for Oz, who trailed Fetterman by 11 points in late July.
Neither candidate enjoys majority support, with the three percent going to independent Everrett Stern and 11 percent undecided.

We’ve been writing about Hurricane Ian bearing down on Florida and now we’re seeing some videos of how bad it’s getting down there.
As we reported earlier, a camera from The Weather Channel in Ft. Myers, Florida, was completely submerged underwater despite it being positioned six-feet high. That was happening all over the area, as the water from the storm surge flooded in. It’s up to the roofs in some areas of Fort Myers and Fort Myers Beach. It reminds me of pictures of tsunamis. Let’s hope that people got out of there because reports are that it’s wild there.

New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern was blasted for comparing free speech online to "weapons of war" in a recent speech to the U.N. that critics called "authoritarian." At the U.N. General Assembly on Friday, Ardern announced a new initiative "to help improve research and understanding of how a person’s online experiences are curated by automated processes," saying the work, done in partnership with companies and non-profits, will be "important in understanding more about mis- and disinformation online - A challenge that we must as leaders address."

Nothing tests the mettle of a governor like a natural disaster, with hurricanes being among the worst. Emergency efforts include everything from rescue and recovery of victims, to restoration of power, to distribution of needed supplies, to rebuilding cities affected by the storm. Hurricane Ian, a massive Category 4 storm, made landfall in Florida on Wednesday afternoon, but the worst may be yet to come with storm surges, massive power outages that could last for days, and major rainfall expected.
During a press conference on Wednesday evening, Gov. Ron DeSantis warned that Floridians are still “in a very hazardous situation.” But he assured residents that the state

The NY Times published this report today. The call intercepts in question aren’t recent but come from back in March.
The New York Times has exclusively obtained recordings of thousands of calls that were made throughout March and intercepted by Ukrainian law enforcement agencies from this pivotal location.
Reporters verified the authenticity of these calls by cross-referencing the Russian phone numbers with messaging apps and social media profiles to identify soldiers and family members. The Times spent almost two months translating the recordings, which have been edited for clarity and length.

Nate Cohn, chief political reporter for the New York Times, delivers some straight talk that should worry Democrats a lot:
The post-Dobbs bump for Democrats is over and the political terrain has returned to where it was in April. And that is really really bad news for Democrats. You may have noticed that Democrats don’t want to talk about anything besides abortion. Here in Minnesota it is what every liberal political ad is about. The governor threw in an ad about how much he loves education (he is a former teacher), but pretty much every utterance he makes is about Republican extremism on abortion.
It is all they have. Voters are unhappy
