In the weeks since the police murder of George Floyd, school districts across the country have cut ties with police departments. The shift has the potential to reverse a trend that’s lasted more than two decades, as law enforcement has become increasingly intertwined with education.
Many school shootings could have been avoided if there were armed officers in those schools!
A video that is slowly becoming viral shows why armed highly trained police officers can save lives in active shooting situations.

"Many school shootings could have been avoided if there were armed officers in those schools!" And if I had some ham, I could have some ham and eggs, if I had some eggs.
Unless you're ready to hire, pay, and equip 600,000 government paid sharpshooters, The premise of this article is worthless. An effective focus of conservative energy is to empower 2A everywhere - including the adults already hired to shepherd our kids all day - and eliminate gun-free zones.

183 yards using a standard M4 carbine with optics? On a man-sized target? Really, not a big deal. When I was an 18-year-old Marine, I could hit a target that size with an M14 from 500 meters.
I did admire the way he kept his cool. Just another day on the job....

This is what someone who actually knows how to shoot a rifle can do. I spent years competing in various rifle competitions at ranges from 200 to 600 yards, with iron sights and one type of competition, with historic WW2 sniper rifles, scopes were allowed, although the WW2 tech scopes are not even close to the quality of modern scopes.
Well done officer. My bet is that he is a hunter and didn't learn that in his police training, but by hunting and practicing on his own.

In addition to the likelihood that the officer was a hunter, he may well have been a military veteran. Most current versions of issue M4 carbines have optical sights, red dots or the ACOG scopes. About 5 or 6 years ago, USMC basic training dropped the iron sighted rifles and start recruits with ACOG scope sights right off the bat. My two nephews, trained in shooting since they were 5 both were in the top 2 or 3 qualifiers with the rifles in their battalions at San Diego. They had a good handle on it before they went in, and the DIs and rifle instructors improved their skills.

A real man shows up and it’s over in less than 10 seconds after pulling rifle from bag. Btw, I hated the M4 for its short barrel. Chuckleheads like me need as much help as we can get. Even my shotgun (Benelli M4 copy) has a 28” barrel.

# 4. Agreed. I did the same with 9 bullseyes out of 10 at 500 meters. M14 with peep sights and no scope. Maybe they should hire ex marines to guard schools. Semper Fi.

Nice... but what in the article told you the who/what/when/where/why? You had to read the info box to find out that this was in Tacoma. This article is remarkably missing so many details. I found this but it also kinda says the call was false alarm so I'm left wondering if it is the same incident.: https://www.thenewstribune.com/news/local/crime/article266514256.html

Excellent shot, all the more surprising since the rifle was bumping about in the back of the patrol car, for no one knows for how long.. Its a wnder that the sight was still properly aligned.

Re #17, modern high grade milspec optics are FAR tougher than hunting optics of 20 or 40 years ago. ACOGs and Aimpoints are pretty much "soldier proof" as proven in Afghanistan and Iraq. They will hold zero through amazing abuse, which is why they are now pretty much standard on all military rifles and carbines.
An ACOG is shockingly expensive, like $1500 or more, but they have a built in mount and are super tough. Aimpoint red dots, likewise, but a bit less costly. The most ACOGs are 4 power scope, the standard red dots are typically 1X, no magnification.
