Former U.S. House Speaker Paul Ryan said on a Sunday morning news program that he is a "never-again-Trumper" and that Donald Trump is "unelectable."
Ryan, a Republican who represented Wisconsin's 1st Congressional District for 20 years, was speaker of the House from 2015 to 2019. He told correspondent Jonathan Karl on ABC's "This Week with George Stephanopoulos" in the wake of Trump's announced run that Republicans would lose if they backed Trump for president in 2024.
“We get past Trump, we start winning elections. We stick with Trump, we keep losing elections. That’s just how I see it," Ryan said.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) telling people to “stop” taking ivermectin for COVID-19 was informal and just a recommendation, government lawyers argued during a recent hearing.
“The cited statements were not directives. They were not mandatory. They were recommendations. They said what parties should do. They said, for example, why you should not take ivermectin to treat COVID-19. They did not say you may not do it, you must not do it. They did not say it’s prohibited or it’s unlawful. They also did not say that doctors may not prescribe ivermectin,” Isaac Belfer, one of the lawyers, told the court during the Nov. 1 hearing in federal court

Hunter Biden’s daughter, Naomi Biden, got married at the White House on Saturday.
According to reports, Joe Biden is expected to pay a minimum of $300,000 out-of-pocket for his granddaughter’s wedding.
No press was allowed because Joe Biden said the wedding was a “private” event. (Tweet) Naomi Biden married Peter Neal, a former Hillary Clinton campaign intern, in front of 250 guests at the White House.
Joe Biden is turning 80 on Sunday so his granddaughter’s wedding celebration this weekend worked as a cover to distract from the media focusing on his old age.

On the first stop of a 13-night nationwide tour to promote her new book, “The Light We Carry: Overcoming in Uncertain Times,” “Michelle Obama, disguised as an angel of light,” chatted with host Ellen DeGeneres. Held at the Warner Theater in Washington, DC, Michelle O spouted bias, braids, and a Black first lady to a full house.
In a show of defiance that inspired audience applause, at the end of her diatribe, Obama motioned to her current hairstyle and exclaimed, “Braids, ya’ll!”
For Michelle Obama, “overcoming in uncertain times” requires a new hairdo and self-help book tour

House Democratic Caucus Chairman Hakeem Jeffries, who appears to be unopposed in his bid to be the Democratic Minority Leader next year, told CNN on Sunday morning that the party's number one "nongovernmental goal" will be to take back the House majority in 2024. "We're not satisfied [with the results in 2022]. Our top nongovernmental goal must be reclaiming the House in 2024," Jeffries said. "And I'm committed to making sure that that happens for the good of the American people." "It's an honor to stand on the shoulders of such an extraordinary group of leaders, Jim Clyburn, Steny Hoyer

Arizona Assistant Attorney General Jennifer Wright — with the Elections Integrity Unit — wrote a letter to the Maricopa County officials Saturday demanding an accounting for the widespread ballot tabulation and ballot printer problems seen during the general election on Nov. 8.
Among the most troubling issues raised in the letter directed to Thomas Liddy with the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office was the apparent co-mingling of ballots in black duffle bags in at least one polling location, which were successfully run through the on-site tabulators with those put in “Door 3” to be sent to the Election Department’s downtown Phoenix tabulation center because they could not be read.

In what looks like an act of sheer desperation, President Biden is offering Americans a $20 discount on groceries at CVS, Safeway, Winn-Dixie, or Rite Aid this winter if they will go out and get an Omicron-specific COVID booster. (Video) Biden received an updated booster shot for COVID three weeks ago and sent out a message beseeching Americans to do the same, according to the Daily Mail. Most of the country proceeded to ignore the warning, having moved past the pandemic and on to other more pressing emergencies such as roaring inflation.

A 22-year-old man was taken into police custody early Sunday morning after two heroic clubgoers tackled him to the ground to stop him from firing more rounds at a gay nightclub.
Five people died in the shooting at Club Q in Colorado Springs Saturday night, and 18 others were injured.
Authorities say Anderson Lee Aldrich entered the gay club just before midnight and fired an unknown number of bullets from his AR-15-style long rifle before he was stopped by at least two 'heroic' patrons.
Early reports suggest the gunman was wearing bulletproof armor at the time.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., on Sunday vowed to remove Democratic Reps. Eric Swalwell, Adam Schiff and Ilhan Omar from their congressional committees when Republicans retake control in the new Congress. During an appearance on Fox News’ "Sunday Morning Futures," McCarthy told anchor Maria Bartiromo that he will keep the promise he made in January to remove Swalwell and Schiff from the House Intelligence Committee and Omar from the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
McCarthy said Swalwell's association with a Chinese spy, Schiff’s promotion of the Steele dossier and Omar’s criticism of Israel disqualify them from serving on their respective panels.

The Bible holds that “Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise…” (Proverbs 17:28.) In the modern era, with attribution to Mark Twain, Abraham Lincoln, or others, that’s been reworked as “Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt.” Former Attorney General Bill Barr’s latest embittered statements about the documents the FBI stole from Mar-a-Lago place him squarely within that quotation.
In the government, where it’s almost impossible to get fired, those who stick around long enough become respected, even revered. That’s especially true for attorneys who work in the Department of Justice.

It’s been an interesting week of watching people on the Right scrambling to sling mud at anything or anyone to which or whom it will stick. Perhaps the most interesting of all is “who” the blame has fallen to. Namely, Donald Trump. Most people do not understand the kind of true sacrifice Trump made when he decided to run for office—even though he surely didn’t have to. The hatred and other persecutions, the sorts that come with such public sacrifices, have the potential of ruining not only one’s own life but that of one’s family.

This is called "open source" material, available to anyone paying the price for the information sought, including law enforcement. Nothing illegal about collecting, selling or buying it. No warrants needed. For those with "nothing to hide", no problems. For those of us who don't believe the government should be in our business, anything to hide or not, this must be curtailed. A first step would be to require sellers to disclose to individuals any sale of their information, including the name of the buyer. People do not realize the power this sort of information conveys to the buyer with some "analysis". It doesn't just include phone info, either. Every store discount card is another window into your life, and that info is sold, too. You have no secrets nor any expectations of privacy.
